Chapter 3: His Beautiful Chaos

************

CHAPTER 3

At Leo's spark, Manager Theo had assembled all of his staff members in the kitchen, and his expression remained stoic as he looked at each working staff, his eyes glancing at each one of them as he spoke.

"We will be having important guests at the Hotel today, a meeting has been organized by the most influential businessmen in our city, and as you all see, they are starting to arrive."

He took a brief pause then continued. "If this meeting goes wrong in any case, or if I hear a complaint from the people who are coming to have their meeting here, then I shall not hesitate to fire you. Am I clear?"

"Yes sir."

"Receive their orders, bring the drinks to them on time. Smile, no matter what situation you find yourself in. Keep your head low at all times until you are asked to look at them. Clumsiness shall not be looked over, am I clear?"

"Yes sir."

"Then what are you waiting for? Get to work!" At their boss's strict command, all the waiters and cooks hurriedly went back to position.

"None of you shall bring disgrace to this company under my watch," the manager seethed before walking away to handle pressing matters.

Ariel, who was busy pouring a glass of red wine in the glass cups, was finally able to release a breath when the Manager stormed out, and her fellow colleague who did the same thing suddenly whispered to her.

"Luckily, I wore extra courage, it is the only thing saving me from passing out at this minute."

"Was he always like this?" Inquired Ariel, but the girl had finished filling her tray of drinks.

"He can be worse."

Ariel heaved a sigh. A big event like this wasn't what she needed on her first day of work. Anything could happen. And given her history with things happening, she wasn't looking forward to this.

But then, the thought of her doing well on such an important day drove courage through her bones.

If she aced this, then her job was definitely secured.

"What are you doing? Don't delay, be quick before the boss shows up," the girl prompted Ariel to hurry up, and together, they both exited the busy kitchen and headed for the guests' table with their drinks ready on a tray.

In a private room that was saved for only the VIPS, a group of old and young men surrounded a long-squared table with all sorts of paper files, documents and laptops placed in front of them.

To their left, a vast sliding window occupied the whole wall, giving a clear view of the splendid night city, but the air in the room was quite tense for the viewers to enjoy the scenery.

At the right, four young men stood in waiting to tend to the need of anyone and usher them to their seats.

Presently, all the seats were filled up except for one, and the people who were waiting were starting to get a little impatient as one of them glanced at the time on their watch.

"Should we begin this meeting without him? He can join in when he gets here," one of the men wisely suggested, and a grey-haired man who sat at the left seat, shook his head.

"Let's not forget we're dealing with Drax Jasiel, the least of things I want tonight is to see trouble brewing. I advise we wait, five-minute interval and if he isn't here, we all start."

As the board present nodded at the man's suggestion, the door to the board meeting opened, and four waitresses stepped into the room. Ariel was the last to enter, and she gently closed the door behind them.

As she headed for their tables to serve the drinks, just as the manager had advised all of them, they gently dropped the glass of wine at the sides of each man.

Ariel had her gaze fixed on what she did as she dropped the glasses and moved on to the next.

Unbeknownst to her, half of the board men, who were seeing her face for the first time in this establishment, stared in awe as they'd never come across someone so stunningly beautiful.

Her uniform, which was cream-coloured and looked slightly pale, made her look more attractive to the eyes of half of the board members present.

Her uniform, which was cream-coloured, hugged every curve of her body perfectly. It showed off how slender yet curvy she looked like an hourglass figure.

Her burgundy hip-length hair fell down behind her while her double-coloured irises bore a uniqueness like no other, making her look more attractive to the eyes of every board member present.

She wore no make-up or jewellery other than a simple silver necklace around her neck.

The men couldn't help but wonder why such beauty would work here serving food and drink and about the fact that she didn't seem bothered by the stares, nor even flustered.

In fact, as soon as she finished dropping the first set of glasses, Ariel turned to look at them, smiling sweetly as though nothing happened.

When she got to the other side of the table, the young man who was seated there, leaned his back against the chair when she stretched forward to drop the glass in front of him, and it gave him a good sight of her round shapely ass that was hidden like a treasure under the material of her dress.

'She's got some kind of magic,' he muttered inwardly, licking his lips.

"Hey."

Ariel was about to move away when he stopped her with his words. She didn't need to look up to know his words had drawn attention to the rest of the people as well as the waitress.

"Yes sir? What can I do for you?" she asked plainly.

The man who was secretly trying to court her, raised his head to look at everyone, and when their gazes no longer focused on him, he did something Ariel never expected as he grabbed her ass from behind, forcing her body to jerk in shock, and a cunning smile played on the man's lips.

"Are you new here?" He asked, his hands still caressing her ass from behind, and Ariel's body would have moved to deliver a hideous slap on his face, but before she could make that attempt, she remembered her boss's words.

'Smile, no matter the situation.' Ariel cursed in her head, that Manager Theo knew this was going to happen, didn't he?

Swallowing her anger and disgust, Ariel smiled and answered curtly.

"Yes, and I was told every member of Hilton Hotel's board is known for respecting women." If he wasn't a fool, he'd understand the irony in her words.

"Aaaah…. They don't say," he mused.

"If you'll excuse me."

In an attempt to get his hands off her womanly assets, Ariel tried to shift back, but in the process, she ended up locking her legs which ended her in a serious disaster as the rest of the glass cups toppled off the tray, only to splash directly at someone who just stepped into the room.

"Ouch!" Ariel winced as she dropped to the ground, the tray and everything on it falling to the floor, spilling in a complete mess followed by the shattering sounds of glass.

The silence that followed was one Ariel didn't want to comprehend even if she knew the meaning of it.

She was in serious trouble.

Meanwhile, the young man who had successfully made it on time to his meeting wasn't expecting to have his presence welcomed with drinks splashing all over his outfit.

"Oh no! It's Mr Drax!" One of the waitresses gasped.

"He won't spare her!"

"I can already see the manager kissing her goodbye."

"She's done for when he thunders his rage on her!"

"I cannot believe on her first day, she angered the untouchable one."

She could hear the waitresses murmuring to themselves, and unfortunately, she couldn't defend herself because they were right.

'Drax? Who is… who is Drax?'

Slowly she tilted her head up to see whom she had spilled the drink on.

She wanted to confirm if there was a chance to escape the doom that awaited her, but as she looked up, her face went pale when she met the striking amber-brown eyes that stared right back at her.

For a split second, something mysteriously sharp flashed in his eyes. Was it anger? Was it hatred? But when she blinked, that sharp glint was gone.

Ignoring the piercing eyes on him, Drax's attention remained fixed on her as the world seemed to stop at that moment.

The only thing moving was the dark hue surrounding her with a force and power that left one speechlessly weak in their knees—one only he could see at the moment.

Ariel felt like he'd sucked out every ounce of strength from within her body and replaced them with an unknown energy which caused every nerve ending inside of her skin to tingle painfully while every muscle froze stiffly until he finally spoke again.

"You..." he began, the tone of deep voice forcing her body to jerk in fright, and then he crouched before her.

Ariel thought of apologizing, but staring into this man's eyes, her lips could barely move, her heart drummed, and her pulse quickened.

She tried desperately not to look at his handsome features or else she would be lost forever. Instead, she focused solely on what to do next.

"I'm sorry," she said softly after taking several seconds to gather enough courage to speak once more.

But the way he gazed at her, he was staring as if he could see through the deepest darkest pit of her soul, and all of a sudden, a bewitching smirk graced his lips as his finger latched onto her chin.

"My beautiful Chaos," he whispered as though savouring each word that fell off his tongue. His low husky voice made Ariel shiver under its effect on her senses.

Her mind went blank for some reason; she couldn't think straight anymore because she couldn't understand why she was still sitting there when she should have been running away by now!

And as if on cue, the sound of thunder roared loudly in the sky, and a flash of lightning followed by the time all panicked eyes shifted to the glass window.

Ariel herself panicked when she heard the thundering sound.

She didn't know how long it lasted but it seemed like it had gone on forever until suddenly everything stopped with no warning whatsoever. The silence around them seemed deafening.

Drax stood up slowly from where he knelt beside her with an amused expression playing across his face while everyone stared at him with wide-open mouths wondering about what just happened—what did he do? What is he going to say?
