Chapter 6: Predicament
Deep within a lush forest, three figures could be seen walking about.
The first two figures were a beautiful girl with otherworldly looks and an exquisite body and a bulky teenage kid. Both of them had bows arrows in their hands as they shot demonic beasts to their death.
The third figure however, was a young man with short grey hair with heavenly looks, wearing a black jacket and pants with both of his hands in his pockets. He had a contemplating look on his face as he followed behind the two figures at the front silently.
" This change my brain went through is so amazing, it's an insult to even call it a mutation. It's more of an evolution. First off, my brain works so fast now, a single moment in time for others is a whole minute for me. The change has also affected my eyes somewhat causing me to see things at the The molecular level. I also feel like my eyes are recording and analyzing everything including specks of dust down to the molecular level. The downside is the amount of information being processed is so much my head feels like it's being split apart every second and the headache keeps increasing every now and then." Damien sighed as he walked on.
" I guess the problem isn't with the evolution, but rather the energy it brought along. The amount of mental energy being processed in a second of reality is so vast that even my brain has a hard time keeping up with it. If I don't find a way to deal with it, I'm gonna fry my brain soon." Damien walked on for a while, before he suddenly had an epiphany.
" Big brother, I feel like you're sighing a lot today. You're gonna get old early if you do that." Yuanba shot a demonic hare to death as he muttered to Damien with a smile.
Damien really felt the urge to give him a huge knock on the head but refrained from that.
" You shouldn't have come if you didn't want to. No one forced you to." Xia Qingyue added with a cold gaze.
Damien only rolled his eyes at her words. It was as if she didn't see Yuanba literally pulling him out of his room to join them.
" Gaea how is your work progressing?" After repeatedly sighing, Damien muttered in a low voice to which a beautiful voice sounded in his mind.
" Every thing is going on great my Lord. I'm 75% done with everything. " Damien smiled after hearing that clearly pleased with his first creation.
" Alright Gaea send me every information you have on how to use my mental energy and how to effectively control my brain's ability." Damien spoke again to Gaea.
" Uughhh!!" Suddenly, an influx of information so strong that he could feel his brain literally being fried burst into his mind causing him to groan in pain.
" Big brother, are you alright?" Yuanba immediately rushed to help him out while Xia Qingyue stood there unconcerned. She thought it was foolish to have a man with no cultivation whatsoever accompany them on such a dangerous mission. She knew Yuanba's cultivation was at the Elemental Realm, while hers, although it looked like she was at the Elemental Realm was already at the Nascent Profound Realm.
Though her fast cultivation was as a result of her frightening physique which even she didn't know about.
" Sis let's help him!" Yuanba shouted on top of his voice but she still looked on coldly and refused to help out.
" I'm fine Yuanba, I'm fine. Lemme just sit down for a while." Damien flashed a weak smile and sat underneath a tree to rest for a while.
" I shouldn't have allowed you to come. You're just a burden to us. After he recovers take him back." Xia Qingyue whispered coldly to Damien before talking to her brother.
Damien chuckled, but he closed his to check on his state and ignored her blanter.
" Gaea, a little warning next time? And I know I said everything but you didn't need to send every information on mental energy that existed even before creation." Damien sighed as he sorted out the information in his mind.
" Sorry my Lord, I just wanted to please you." She spoke apologetically.
" Its alright. Be mindful next time or you might end up killing me ." Damien spoke before ending his communication with her.
Sitting calmly, Damien began to go through the info on mental energy slowly.
Mental energy was basically the willingness or ability to engage in cognitive work. In the cultivation world, it could be defined as a formless energy that separated reality from the realm imagination. Meaning if one could learn to manipulate it, the benefits were enormous. It could only be attained by training or tempering the brain with large amounts of profound energy.
Mental energy was even more versatile in its use than Profound Energy. The only limits to mental energy were the amount of energy possessed and the imagination of the user.
Basically everything was possible with mental energy.
Damien slowly meditated and soon, a small smile formed on his face. Due to his brain's computing power, his learning prowess was very high and he quickly mastered the basics of mental energy.
He opened his eyes and when he realized that no one was looking at him, he opened his palm and his eyes flashed with a silvery white light. Immediately a silver sword formed in his hand. It looked extremely real and it gave off a mysterious vibe. The only difference between that sword and a real sword was only probably the colour.
As soon as the ripple of mental energy spread from the sword, Damien could feel Xia Qingyue's gaze in him and the sword disappeared immediately.
" I'm done. Can we go now?" Damien flashed a weak smile at Yuanba who immediately helped him out......
" What the hell is this disgusting feeling?" After walking for a few miles, still behind the duo, Damien felt an incomprehensible feeling.
He felt as if danger was coming to them and it was extremely fast. However he couldn't see anything moving towards them. And one has to know that, he could basically see everything within a 200 km radius down to its molecules.
With every second that increased, he could feel the danger level continually increase.
" There's something coming unto us. And it's very dangerous." Damien muttered to the duo.
" Pfft. If there really was, why won't we, the full blown cultivators be able to sense it, but someone like you without any real cultivation." Xia Qingyue chuckled and spoke with disdain evident in her eyes.
" Watch out!!" The next instant after she spoke, Damien saw the trunk of a huge, the width of five people smashing towards them in an unreasonable manner.
The duo immediately panicked, however Damien's power immediately set in. An instant in reality was converted to a whole minute for him. His brain began to work in overdrive and ignoring the huge pain in his head, it was as if time was beginning to slow in his eyes.
Even the huge tree approaching at frightening speed was beginning to slow to the point of freezing. It wasn't that time had slowed in reality , however his reaction speed and senses had broken past what was normal for a normal human.
But although his reaction speed and the cognitive reflex had increased, his body was too slow. He pushed Xia Qingyue with all his might and then flung Yuanba who was close to him with his mental energy.
He himself however was unable to evade as he reached the utmost limit of his speed.
" Bang!!" The instant the huge tree reached him, he crossed both arms in front of him, before he was flung away by the tree. His body smashed into several trees before coming to a stop and forming a large crater on the ground.
