Chapter 14: The Car Accident

A few hours later, Ye Qing Xin was dressed in the dress that her mother had brought for her.

When she walked into the living room, her parents and little sister were already waiting for her. Seeing the way her family members were looking at her made her smile.

"How is it?" Ye Qing Xin raised a brow. "Good looking?"

Ruan Xia's eyes lit up. "Mmm... I just knew that this dress would look good on you."

Ye Chun nodded in agreement but did not say a word.

Meanwhile, Ye Qing Luo was nodding enthusiastically. "Sister, you are too pretty."

Earlier that day, Ye Qing Luo helped her elder sister to put on the dress and saw how the dress that their mother picked would fit her elder sister perfectly. But now that her sister had put her hair up and some makeup on her face, Ye Qing Luo thought that her sister was stunning.

In the past, her sister was someone who liked to dress casually. Therefore, it was indeed surprising to see her sister dressing up like this.

If only her arms were not bandaged, then her sister would look perfect.

Ye Qing Xin smiled happily upon seeing her family's reaction. She walked over to her mother and nodded, "Alright then. Let's go."

The family of four left together in one car.

This was the first time that Ye Qing Xin had left the house after she came back from the hospital. Because of that, Ye Qing Xin could not stop looking out the window.

Ye Qing Xin felt that the city was not very different from the city she used to live in.

"Xin Xin."

Her mother's voice snapped her out of her trance. Ye Qing Xin turned to her mother and raised her brow inquiringly.

Ruan Xia looked at her daughter with worry. "How are you feeling? Sitting in this car... you don't feel uncomfortable, right?"

Ye Chun and Ye Qing Luo both turned to look at Ye Qing Xin at the same time. They knew the reason Ruan Xia was asking this question and became worried about Ye Qing Xin as well.

"I'm worried about how you might feel," Ruan Xia spoke. "It was not too long ago that you were in a car accident. Mom is worried that you might feel uncomfortable."

Ye Qing Xin looked out the window, enjoying the city's night view. Then, she looked at her mother again and said, "I'm feeling fine. You should know that I don't remember anything. I don't remember anything about the car accident."

Ruan Xia exchanged a look with her husband.

She has heard that most people who survived a terrible car crash would have trauma. Some of them did not dare to drive again. Some of them could not even sit in a car.

Ruan Xia was worried that her daughter might feel that way.

Her daughter's answer gave Ruan Xia mixed feelings. She did not know whether it was a good thing that her daughter did not remember anything.

Ye Qing Xin lowered her gaze as a thought suddenly came to her mind. "But, speaking of that car crash, how did it happen?"

She finally remembered that she did not know anything about the car crash that caused the previous Ye Qing Xin to die.

How did the car crash happen? Did she make a mistake? Was there anyone else involved in this accident? Ye Qing Xin was suddenly curious.

Ruan Xia glanced at the others, wondering if this matter was something that they should talk about.

"Sister, you were driving alone from work," Ye Qing Luo said. "It was raining and the car you drove lost control."

Ruan Xia and Ye Chun were observing her daughter's expression, worried that those words would trigger some bad memories. But it seemed that their daughter did not remember anything.

"You were trying to avoid another car when you crashed into a building," Ye Qing Luo said. "Fortunately, no one else was affected by this accident."

Ye Qing Xin pursed her lips. "That's good. At least no other life was involved in this accident."

Ruan Xia could still remember that time when the police called her to inform them that her daughter was involved in an accident. Her heart would ache each time she recalled Ye Qing Xin's condition when she was taken to the hospital.

Ye Qing Xin had lost a lot of blood and everyone thought that she was going to die.

Then, the police showed them the photos of the accident scene.

The photos made Ruan Xia faint. The car crash was bad enough that everyone thought that it was a miracle for Ye Qing Xin to survive.

"Xin Xin, are you really alright? You don't remember anything?"

"Mom, I really don't remember anything."

How can she remember anything when she was not the previous Ye Qing Xin?

Not too long after, the car finally reached the old residence. Ye Qing Xin looked out the window and felt that the residence was quite familiar.

The family alighted from the car together and headed into the house.

As she stepped into the house, Ye Qing Xin swept her gaze around the house curiously.

There were already a few people who were gathering in the hall for Old Ye's birthday banquet. However, none of the people were familiar with her.

Ye Chun took his family to the second floor to meet his father.

When they arrived, Ye Qing Xin saw an elderly man holding onto a wooden walking stick, sitting at the end of the room. The old man was talking to a few guests. The look on his face was stern, but Ye Qing Xin felt that the old man's face was very gentle.

Her heartbeat accelerated.

Without knowing why, Ye Qing Xin felt a sense of longing when she saw the old man.

Ye Qing Xin wondered if this was the previous Ye Qing Xin's feeling.

She glanced at her little sister and said, "Xiao Luo, that person is our grandfather?"

Ye Qing Luo followed her sister's line of gaze and nodded. "Yes. That's him."

"Then, tell me... How is my relationship with my Grandfather?"

"Sister, your relationship with Grandpa is the best." Ye Qing Luo smiled. "Grandpa doted on you the most."

Just then, the old man turned to look at her. Their gazes met and the look in Grandpa Ye's eyes lit up. He excused himself from his friends and walked over to Ye Qing Xin with the walking stick in his hand. "Xin Xin."
