Chapter 132: War is Imminent!
An undetermined amount of time later
Galan woke up, feeling pain all over his body as he sat up, covering his bandaged body. He looked around and recognized Mariejois at first glance. He started crying and held his head, screaming "Ahhhhhhhh!"
Olvia ran in and shouted "Fleet Admiral! Are you alright!?" Galan held her and said quickly "The Elders! Where are they!?" Olvia was shocked and held him, saying "Stay in bed! You're seriously injured!"
Galan shoved her shouting "Impossible!" as he got out of bed, stumbling forward and smashing into the ground in front of the door, Olvia held him, saying angrily "GET IN BED!" Galan waved his arm and crawled to the door, getting up and stumbling out as he looked around, holding onto the wall, saying in a daze "I h-have to w-wa-warn them! Take me to the Elders…"
He swayed on his feet and Olvia held him, gritting her teeth "You need rest!" Galan shouted savagely "I need to see the Elders! You retarded woman!" as he stumbled away from her grasp, falling down in front of a giant door.
The Door opened and the 4 Elders looked at Galan on the ground as he crawled over, "Sir! It was horrible! I…" he grit his teeth with tears in his eyes, slamming a fist on the ground as he got into a kneeling position.
Tears dripped from his eyes, "I-I… I failed to protect Saint Saturn! Please administer punishment." The Elders looked at him with complicated faces, the loss of a friend was difficult to swallow, but how could they blame Galan?
He came back with Lucci and Kaku, covered in wounds from head to toe. From Lucci's report, he tried his best to continue the mission regardless! This was a loyal dog! A true soldier!
Galan recounted the events, "Saint Saturn was standing on the deck and explaining the mission when our ship was cut in half by a swordsman, Shiryu! Before we could react, hundreds of cannons were fired at us from all directions, even falling from the sky!" he reached to his side and his eyes trembled, adding quickly, "I had killed Lafitte! However by the time I could kill him, I saw Saint Saturn cornered and killed by Shiryu!"
He punched the ground and blood exploded from his fist under the bandages, "I-I! I will take all responsibility for this matter! Kill me!" as he touched his forehead to the ground, giving up resistance!
The Elders looked at him and said softly "Go on, Galan…" Galan cried bitterly "I-I tried catching up but the bastard turned invisible by some unknown means… I suspect he ate the Invisible Fruit! Even the ship they were on became invisible! I couldn't track it with my Haki at all! I killed as many of them as I could, but none of them talked! They even took Saint Saturn's corpse!"
He held his head and sobbed, "I couldn't do anything! I tried to carry out the mission, but I only managed to kill one Vegapunk before being besieged by the Straw Hats, Vegapunk's satellites, and Seraphim! Stussy also rebelled! I-I failed!"
They looked at him before sighing, "Stand up, Galan. Your mission isn't over yet." Galan looked at them with red rimmed eyes, "Pardon me, sir?" They said with frowns, "2 weeks have passed since then… We suspect they have already reached the final island…"
Galan was shocked and shouted "Impossible!" they sighed and nodded grimly, adding "And the Revolutionary Army is organizing a Fleet as we speak, coming to Mariejois!"
Galan sat on his calves in a daze, unable to believe what he was hearing, he looked at them absent mindedly, muttering "It's all my fault…" They Elders shouted sternly "FLEET ADMIRAL!" Galan sobered up and they said seriously "We need your strength! What happened to Saturn is unfortunate, but this war has only begun! Collect your bearings and lick your wounds, we will be needing the Fleet Admiral at this time! There will be an all out war! Your punishment will come after this!"
Another Elder said softly "I don't think he deserves punishment." the other 3 glanced at each other, understanding what he was doing as they discussed rather loudly before coming to the conclusion "Galan, we've made a decision. After this war is won, you may be rewarded based on your merits!"
Galan looked to be shocked, saying sadly "But, Saint Saturn…" they sighed and replied softly "You tried your best, Galan… This is the chance to redeem yourself." Galan's eyes lit up slightly, "Huh?" They looked at him explaining "Win this war and Saturn will be able to rest in peace, Galan. I'm sure it's what he would've wanted. He wouldn't blame you, these pirates are too troublesome and sinister!"
Galan clenched his fist, grit his teeth, and steeled his expression, "I understand, sir! I will complete this mission and win this war! I promise on my life!" they nodded in satisfaction, "Now go heal and prepare! War is imminent."
Galan got up shakily and stumbled out of the room, holding onto the wall as they watched him leave, turning to each other with delighted twinkles in their eyes.
Olvia held him outside, gritting her teeth, "These damn Blackbeard Pirates!" Galan sighed and held her saying weakly "To the room… I need to prepare…" Olvia said worriedly "In your state, Fleet Admiral-" Galan cut her off, saying firmly, "I must!"
Olvia didn't know what was going on, she felt her mind was cloaked in a haze, everything was getting bigger and bigger, she didn't know the truth anymore, but she played along anyway.
Whatever Galan needed her to do, she would do!
