Chapter 3: Chapter Three: The True Training Begings

Li Wei had been out in the wilderness for two days, focusing solely on his training. He had pushed himself harder than ever before, determined to become stronger and better. As he approached his village, he felt a sense of relief and accomplishment. He was confident that his training had paid off, and he was eager to show his family how much he had grown.

*It's getting late, I better get home fast*

But as he got closer, he saw smoke rising from the village. His heart pounding in his chest, he broke into a run, racing towards his home. When he arrived, he saw that the village had been attacked. Buildings were burning to the ground, and bodies littered the streets. He looked around and saw His family among the dead.

Li Wei fell to his knees and let out a loud shriek that could be heard throughout the land, from the village to the depths of the forest. Tears came streaming down his face, as he saw the lifeless charred corpses of his siblings. He couldn't help but feel an overwhelming feeling he couldn't describe.

As he looked up, he saw a jade mask hovering over him. The mask belonged to the mysterious figure behind it which watch over him, intrigued by his determination and power. The figure was a pitch black shadow with its eyes and mouth made of light. Li Wei assumed it was a projection of a powerful cultivator, but out of the many he's heard of none of them where said to have such an ability, nevertheless, the shadow showed interest in him. The mask drifted toward Li Wei and without a second thought, he took it and immediately felt the immense power coming from it Without a word, the figure gestured for Li Wei to follow him. In his grief and despair, Li Wei saw this as an opportunity to become stronger, to hone his skills and become powerful enough to avenge his siblings.

But before he left the village, Li Wei met an old man who lived at the outskirts of the village. The old man offered him a place to rest and recover from his journey. Li Wei accepted the offer and stayed with the old man until nightfall. He left the old man's home feeling slightly more at ease, but the sight of his family's lifeless bodies still burned in his mind.

He set off into the wilderness once again, aimlessly following the figure. This time, his focus was mor on revenge, rather than training. He would do whatever it takes to become stronger, for there was nothing left to loss.

He knew the journey with the mysterious figure was going to be grueling, but . He will push himself harder than ever before learning new techniques and master his physical abilities.

He said to himself

*whatever it takes to make them pay for what they did*

the mask resonating with his statement, emitted a dim glow. The shadow felt this and grinned.
