Chapter 18: Pokemon Training and Silph Co.

After putting all his belongings temporarily in his bedroom, Jun release Eevee and came out and went to the living room.

Eevee happily nested on Jun's head while wagging its tail.

"Kyuu~"

"Aunt, can I go out for a while? This is basically my first time here. I want to look around the city," Jun requested.

His aunt put down her newspaper and asked, "Where do you want to go? Do you need for aunt accompany you?"

Jun only shakes her head.

Aunt Mia was still worried so she released her Scyther directly making Jun looking at it.

"Sci~zzo!"

Scyther was calm and looked at Aunt Mia, then nodded to Jun before continuing to look to her aunt for instructions. Aunt Mia explained everything to her.

"Hi, Scythe!" Jun knew this Scyther since his aunt and her Pokemon often took care of him when he was a little kid. He often called her "Scythe" because he couldn't say "r" words. Scyther nodded and then looked at Jun with affection. It also recognized Jun.

Aunt Mia then recalled Scyther back to its Luxury Ball and gave it to Jun. Jun nodded and say thank you before bid farewell to his aunt with Eevee and Scyther accompany him.

After walking a short distance from his aunt's house, he noticed an open area in the middle of the housing community. He was curious so he walket toward it. Upon closer inspection, he realized that it seemed to be used for kids of this community to train and play each other.

The open area was surrounded by well-manicured lawns and had a variety of obstacles and structures that had been constructed using makeshift materials such as tires, wooden pallets, and scrap metal. Several kids were gathered around the area, cheering on their friends as they raced, jumped, and climbed their way through the obstacles.

As Jun looked around the open training field, he was reminded of a popular TV show from his previous world in which contestants attempt to complete a challenging obstacle course that tests their physical abilities.

'Hmm... My training with Eevee basically only involves running and weight training, maybe now I can use this training field to train Eevee,' Jun thought to himself

There are many ways to improve a Pokemon's strength through training, but the two main areas that people tend to focus on are physical fitness and mastering Pokemon moves.

Pokemon's physical fitness is divided into six stats: HP, Attack, Defense, Sp. Attack, Sp. Defense, and Speed. While Pokemon mastery is divided into three categories: beginner, intermediate, and master.

In general, Pokemon with higher stats are stronger than those with lower stats. This is why the Pokemon Alliance has established regulations concerning a Pokemon's potential, level, and strengths/qualifications. They use technology to measure a Pokemon's total stats and determine its strength/qualification. While not all Pokemon can be measured by this standard, it applies to most Pokemon.

Moves mastery can be improved by frequently using a move during training or combat. For example, Jun's Eevee has relatively new moves such as Sand Attack and Mud Slap. So the recommendation he got from breed scheme menu is to train Eevee in a field with ground or sand to help it become accustomed to using those moves.

He imagined Eevee racing through the obstacle course, leaping over the various obstacles and using its agility and quick reflexes to outmaneuver them.

Jun then recalled the recommendations for Eevee's breeding scheme. Basically, by train with this obstacles in the play ground, he could kill three birds with one stone. He nodded with satisfaction at his plan and walked away towards the community gate. He planned to go to the biggest and tallest building in the city: the Silph Co. headquarters.

Jun arrived at the Silph Co. skyscraper and recalled his knowledge about Pokemon. Silph Co. is the top producer of Pokemon technology, making the most popular PokeBalls, medicine, TMs, and other related items. They also supply most of the items found in Kanto region PokeMarts. But he knew that later on, Silph Co. would be targeted by Team Rocket

Despite not knowing whether Team Rocket had taken over Silph Co., Jun was undeterred in his plans to shop for his beloved Eevee and Beldum. Beneath the headquarters, there is a shopping mall catering to Pokemon trainers like himself.

As Jun approached the main entrance of Silph Co., they couldn't help but be amazed by the tall skyscraper. The building had sky-blue glass walls that reflected the blue sky in the upper parts and the busy city in the lower parts. In front of the building, there were two bodyguards in black suits accompanied by Elite level Pokemon - Machamp and Houndoom. Both of them were at level 49.

This surprised Jun a bit. 'Tsk, tsk, tsk... having Elite trainers as guards is really a luxury, I think.'

Jun then gave his Alliance card to one of the guards. The guard looked at Jun's ID and scanned it. After getting confirmation, he nodded and handed back Jun's card.
