Chapter 38: School Starts

At 9:00 AM, Jun arrived at the school. Since Jun's primary class is Research, he immediately walked into the designated auditorium for the Research School.

The school had three main branches: the Trainer School, the Research School, and the Breeder School. The Trainer School offered classes for both Pokemon Battles and Coordinators, while the Research School focused on academic areas such as Pokemon evolution, genetics, healthcare, and more. The Breeder School, on the other hand, focused on grooming and caretaking.

Jun knows that there were only seven to twelve students per class in the Research School. Compared to the Trainer School, the Research School is generally not as interesting to most people.

As Jun stepped into the auditorium, he couldn't help but notice the excited energy emanating from his fellow students. Several of them were already there, clutching their Pokeballs tightly in their hands. If it weren't for the fact that the school doesn't allow Pokemon to be freely released, it is estimated that these individuals would have battled with all their might and possibly even destroyed their surroundings.

Jun knew that even though this was a research class, there were bound to be hot-blooded students who were eager to show off their skills and impress their peers. He had seen it many times before - the urge to prove oneself was strong among young trainers, and the desire to show off could be overwhelming.

Additionally, some girls formed a group and were taking photos of themselves while chatting on their way to school. Since today is the introduction class, all research students gathered in the auditorium to hear the principal's speech before being separated into individual classes.

Fortunately, when he looked there are more woman than man in the auditorium. After find his seat, Jun gaze followed man with white hair, goatee and glasses and an old man with tall man, who resembles Professor Oak; he has long gray hair, tanned skin and brown eyes.

"Hello, all students. Maybe some of you are still confused about who I am. Let me introduce myself. My name is Clavell, the new principal of Scarlett Middle-High School and beside me is the vice principal, Samson Oak." Clavell the new principal of Scarlett Middle-High School introduced

All the students became excited when they heard the name Samson Oak. Jun looked at Samson Oak curiously. 'Isn't he the one who studies Totem Pokemon? What's he doing here?' But as Jun thought about it, he realized that Samson Oak looked much younger than he did in the animation. 'Maybe he hasn't started studying Totem Pokemon yet?' Jun thought to himself

"Due to certain circumstances, the previous principal decided to resign, and from today on, I and Mr. Samson will take charge as the principal and vice-principal of this school" Clavell continued

Jun was aware of the incident that had happened, based on the predecessor's memories. Clavell had taken over as principal of Scarlett after a bullying scandal had caused the former faculty of the academy to resign. After the scandal was exposed, the Empire took immediate action and decreed that the school would be managed by the empire cooperated with Pokemon Alliance. Clavell was likely affiliated with the Empire, while Samson Oak was associated with the Pokemon Alliance..

"Now, everyone, I hope your next five years in school will be enjoyable, and that you can gain more knowledge to become great people in the future."

After the principal's speech, he immediately left, leaving all the students to be guided by their respective teachers to their individual classes.

---

'Oh, the class is nice,' Jun looked around when he looked at the class.

"Ahem."

Jun was taken aback. He turned around and looked behind him. It turns out that the teacher had already arrived. Everyone immediately returned to their seats, behaving very well, and Jun followed suit.

"Hello students, my name is Ryan and I'll be your homeroom teacher for the next two years. During the first two years of school, our focus will be on academic subjects. In the third year, we'll review these subjects extensively. Don't assume that just because our primary focus is research, you'll be exempt from trainer assessments. It's just that the trainer assessment points will become secondary, while academic points will be prioritized" Ryan said

One the students immediately raised his hands, "Teacher, what about the competition? Do student in research school can perticipate in it?

"Of course, there are no restrictions. In fact, students from the Research School have an advantage over others as they can participate in both Trainer competitions and Research competitions. However, it is important to keep in mind that pursuing both routes can be challenging due to the workload. Make sure to know what your priorities are," Ryan said.

Jun nodded in agreement. He had seen the curriculum for the next two years and noticed that outdoor activities took up more time than indoor activities. He also realized that outdoor activities in the Research School were geared more towards academic pursuits.

"Next, I have two announcements. First, next week the school will arrange a summer camp in cooperation with the Oak Laboratory in Pallet Town. Remember, this is not mandatory. If you want to register, come to the front," Ryan said.

There was no need to think about it, thought all the students. Just hearing the words 'Oak', all the students were eager to meet this legendary figure. After all, the students registered, including Jun.

"The second thing to announce is that the school will introduce you to the school mission. Like what you know about the Pokemon Alliance mission, the concept is the same. You can apply for a mission, and after you complete it, you can gain merit points that you can later exchange for items like Pokeblocks, supplements, training equipment, and many more. I will not introduce it in detail here, but you can find more information at the school admission center or on the website. Understand?" Ryan inquired.

"Yes, sir," the students replied.

"Alright, then I will call your name one by one. After hearing it, raise your hand. Understood?" Ryan yelled.

"Yes, teacher," all the students shouted. Soon, one by one, names were called until it was Jun.

"Jun Falken," Ryan shouted.

"Here," Jun responded.

"Soleil Sorin" Ryan shouted.

"Here!" Soleil answered

"Natasha Joy," Ryan called.

"Here," Natasha replied.

'So that's why she is not unfamiliar... She is a descendant of the Joy family,' Jun thought. In this world, there are naturally many families with prominent backgrounds, but for Jun personally, the two most eye-catching families are the Joy family, who dominate the healthcare industry, and the Jenny family, who are directly appointed by the Pokemon Alliance to oversee the police force.

Ryan nodded and looked at all the students before focusing on two students, a boy and a girl. If he remembered correctly, the boy's name was Jun Falken, the grandson of Marquis Dennis, and the girl was a descendant of the Joy family attending this school. He was told that these two were students who needed special attention. He naturally understood the subtext. This meant that Jun Falken and Natasha Joy were the two most potentially talented newcomers in this class.

After a short self-introduction, the break was about to end, and all the students hurriedly left the class. Most of them went directly to the Battle Venue or went to Pokemon garden to pick up their Pokemon.
