(intro match)
92nd minute, last attack… The enemy team are in shambles waiting for their suffering to end.
"Don't let him score more!!! Gang up on him this time!!!"
An unstoppable creature charges towards the goal once again. 3 defenders try to mark him right before they notice a long-range shot coming their way.
"HA! Off-target this time" a defender chuckles at Reo. "We finally got him!"
"It wasn't a shot," Nagi says with certainty in his voice.
The ball approaches his back as he gently traps it with his backheel and the ball falls in front of him, as he goes for the top left corner and finishes his masterpiece. Their dreams of winning the nationals got shattered by this young prodigy.
"He wasn't playing last season. Who even is this guy?" The enemy team's striker wonders while looking at the scoreboard.

Nagi 5 goals, Reo 1 goal, 5 assists - Isagi 2 goals

This is the Genius of Japan - Nagi Seishiro
(transition)
"Good job Nagiii!!!" Reo comes up to him. "I lost the bet, can't believe you scored 5 again."
"You didn't do too bad either. I think I'll go and take a nap now."
Nagi and Reo leave the pitch while gazing at those whom they have defeated. Nagi isn't happy nor sad, he's just genuinely confused.
"Were they really trying their best?"
"Couldn't you tell when they ganged up on you?"
"Being weak sounds like a hassle. I thought we'd finally play against worthy opponents"
"Yeah but their striker was quite decent though."
"Maybe for you"
"There must be someone as strong as you out there. We have to always be ready." Reo responds.
"Ahhh" Nagi sighs, "I get it, let's train some more, I need to work on my dribbling this time."
(transition)
After 2 additional hours of training Nagi was finally free.
(Playing Raid Shadow Legends on his phone)
"Damn I got raided again"
After playing for 3 hours Nagi wanted to fall asleep. He noticed a letter on his bedside table thinking it was from his parents.
"Project blue lock… Player Improvement Project?" Nagi whispers.
He gets a text message from Reo "Our wish came true."
"Of course he got it too, talented bastard," Nagi chuckles.
(next day)
Nagi and Reo arrived at the place.
"You look more excited than usual." Reo says.
"Of course I am, I may finally face a worthy opponent,"
They enter the facility. The hallway was already full of players from different teams. As Reo and Nagi come closer to the stage they notice the majority of players staring at them. The duo that got into football only a few months ago but already had most of Japan fearing them. A talented playmaker and a lazy genius who was now craving a challenge.
The lights go out and everyone's attention shifts to the stage. Ego walks out and exclaims:
"We're here to find the best player in Japan and the future best striker on this planet. 300 of the best strikers are here today to devour each other until only 1 remains…" As Ego continues explaining the concept to his unpolished gems, Nagi's heart starts filling with joy. This previously unfamiliar sensation was felt through his whole body. Just like when he scored his first goal, his ego is hungry and this is just what he needs to fuel it.
"Finally Reo," Nagi says quietly.
"What?"
"I'm not bored anymore. This is what I've been waiting for all this time."
Nagi excitedly sprints towards the gate the instant Ego finishes his speech. Reo notices a familiar face trailing behind Nagi.
"I knew you'd be here too."
Reo mutters under his breath as he excitedly begins to follow the two egoists closely.
(Transition)
Nagi and Reo get to the facility. They give up their phones and get their uniforms from Anri.
"Let's see if we got lucky" Reo says before they enter the designated room.
There were 9 people in the room already.
One of them came up to Nagi - "Nice match yesterday! Still can't believe you trapped a ball like that, so lucky"
"Hmm…Lucky? I don't even remember you" Nagi is genuinely confused.
"What??! I was a striker on the enemy team," the stranger responds.
"But I don't remember you scoring any goals"
"He's the shithead who ruined Isagi's play, '' Reo adds.
"Hey I just got unlucky, I was only a few inches off the goal" striker responds.
"No wonder I didn't remember you, your mentality is the only thing weaker than your shots"
Ego interrupts him.
"Welcome to Blue Lock unpolished gems! As you've noticed there are 12 people in the room and you'll need to choose whose dream you want to crush. You can also see your personal ranking out of 300 players on the shirts, you're the fifth worst team in the facility with your players being ranked 241-252. You're very lucky to be in the same building with worse teams…"
Ego continues explaining the rules while Nagi looks at his shirt - "251? Impossible! I'm the second worst player in the team" he says in disbelief.
"We're not that far apart then" Reo says, showing his rank - 250. "This must be bullshit. I don't see anyone stronger than us in this room" he adds.
"I wouldn't be so sure" a calm voice says behind them showing his ranking - 249. "But I agree, this must be a mistake. I should be the strongest in the team".
"This is my 2nd luckiest day ever. This is already getting interesting" Reo says in disbelief as he shakes his hands with the stranger. "Nice to meet you, Messi of Aomori"
Nagi adds - "It doesn't matter who you are, I will crush you."
As 2 egos begin to clash, their hearts start pumping from excitement and a chance to destroy each others' dreams of becoming the best player in the world.
