Chapter 63: This feeling again

After some time, Lireesa saw the tiny shadow in the distance becoming clearer as it flew closer. It was a dragonhawk just as she thought. Other elves around appeared to have not heard the rumbling sound caused by its flight and continued their work. Only Ella seemed to sense something in that particular direction and scrutinized in the distance, albeit she was later than Lireesa. Lireesa thought her strength had tremendously improved since her friend's reaction was too slow to notice after she compared with Ella's strength. In the same quasi-legend realm with only a slightly different stage, the difference shouldn't be too much in terms of sensing ability.

Everyone around soon realized the sound and glanced over. As soon as they saw it was their own, they lost interest. The rider above circled around before she spotted the silver figure standing in the center of the manor and dove her mount to land just beside the conspicuous figure. After her dragonhawk flapped a few times during the landing, the rider patted her mount's head and rubbed its skin. She jumped over and planted her feet, dashing in front of Lireesa. She knocked her fist on her left chest as a salute gesture and shouted, "Reporting for duty, Lady Lireesa!"

"Yes, arrived on time. Are you tired from the trip?" Lireesa waved her hand to gesture to the rider to relax from formality. She now eyed her subordinate in front and realized who was sent over by Sena. The rider had an S-shape wavelike body and uptight round chest with the same red long ponytail, the same color as her Noire. She was also Noire's younger sister named Liriah Freefaith and a peak Level 8. Both sisters were personally trained by the past Lireesa who expected a lot from them to step into another high realm in the coming years. Both were attractive in appearance, but Liriah had a sharp chin and was taller than Noire. The younger one was taller than the elder; Lireesa had no idea how. Of course, shorter meant only less than 1.8 meters and it was still very tall when Noire was put among the human population.

"No milady. I'm happy to serve you," Liriah replied with a smirk, glad her ladyship asked her state. Unaware of what her own lady was planning for her, she imagined flying together with Lireesa who would hold her waist during the high-speed flight and her saliva drooled just from having weird thoughts. She could even show off in front of her sister and proudly declared she soared with Lireesa alone in the sky. Never once she had in mind, Lireesa might simply commandeer her mount away.

"Eh…Are you really okay? What's with your face?" Lireesa immediately noticed the luster beside Liriah's mouth and realized it was saliva. She was worried if the prior flight took a huge toll on her young subordinate. If she discovered Liriah's true inexplicable thought, Lireesa would wonder whether to take back her mount completely as punishment. Or she rather simply trained Liriah to the point of fearing herself

"Nothing, I might just be mesmerized by our lady's magnificence." Embarrassed, Liriah quickly rubbed the corner of her mouth with her cloak and smiled at Lireesa.

Lireesa snorted and replied with her eyebrows raised. "You sweet mouth knows how to flatter. But you forgot one thing, your lady is always beautiful at any moment. Practice your concentration more lest my charm affects your battle in the future."

Lireesa flicked her hair after she spoke but realized she was wearing a cloak which prevent her waterline hair from waving in the air. But the flicking movement wasn't ignored by the onlookers around her. Liriah's lips twitched from her lady's narcissistic remarks and even recalled whether Lireesa used to behave like this in the past. Ella beside the two had only black clouds hovering over her head. What she saw was—one was willing to kick and one was willing to ascend. Like mentor, like student. The relation between them couldn't get obvious.

"Ahem…" Ella coughed beside to show she was still there and ask Lireesa to take care of her own behavior. And she would never whine like before to ensure Lireesa 's image outside stayed within her tolerance.

"Oh! Yeah, Ella. I'm leaving everything in the manor to you." Lireesa remembered Ella was still beside her and said. "Wish me luck in my next battle."

Ella didn't bother to reply and Lireesa didn't care. She gazed at Lireesa who rode behind Liriah on the dragonhawk and a gust blew her hair away. She shook her head at Lireesa's previous remark as someone who delegated everything, she still had a gut to say such sentence. As an acting butler of Windrunner noble house, her responsibility was heavier not to mention working under the unreliable lord of the manor, who unscrupulously handed over her own labor to subordinates around. Ella was helpless about Lireesa and it wasn't wrong to call herself the de-facto lord of Windrunner.

Lireesa who was complained by her friend, rode on the dragonhawk for the first time and didn't see the expression of the girl in front of her. Liriah at the moment was pissed because her imagined scene didn't occur. No matter the change in the direction or the speed of the flight, Lireesa behind her was able to adapt without requiring her to hold the waist. Liriah was regretful and didn't dare to make her movement too obvious. But who was Lireesa? She already judged her subordinate's mindset and combined with how Liriah drooled in front of her, what Liriah thought couldn't be more discernable. Perhaps, her action didn't yield the results she craved, Liriah stopped and continued flying normally.

"Follow the convoy on your left. Do you see it?" Lireesa pointed in the direction of the convoy leaving for the Silvermoon as she already had a plan in the back of her mind. On the other hand, Liriah came out of her dismay after hearing Lireesa's order and replied in compliance.

Soon they caught up with the convoy ahead and hovered above at the moment. When Liriah descended her mount and was about to ask their next action, she was stunned by Lireesa's action, who pushed her over and she fell. There was a little commotion when a strong wind blew with the arrival of a dragonhawk, but many exclaimed after Liriah was thrown off by their lady. Most even had their eyes widen from astonishment. Of course, Lireesa knew such height was nothing to level 8 professions and similar to her conjecture—as an experienced ranger Liriah came back from her daze after a second and moved her body to a position where her feet would land first. Afterward, she immediately rolled over the instant her feet hit the ground, smoothing the momentum from the fall. Just when Liriah stood up and prepared to question her lady, her mount betrayed her and flew away. Her eyelids twitched after she heard Lireesa's whisper from her ears.

"Liriah, accompany your sister and take care of my daughter together. Best regards." Lireesa's charming small mumble froze Liriah, causing Noire to exit the carriage herself to observe the chaos caused by the presence of dragonhawk flying too close and too low. She saw the flying mount, which troubled the entire convoy, leave chicly without paying attention to the opinions on the ground. Noire put both her hands on her waist and looked condescendingly at Liriah for an explanation, but her smaller height when compared to her sister appeared amusing to outsiders.

'Best regards my foot' Liriah thought inwardly but never dared to swear at her lord.

"Why do you jump over so fast? Is there any message that you carry along?" Noire asked her dear sister who was still in confusion. She was initially going to swear at the moron who destroyed the peaceful atmosphere and stopped short after discerning the identity. "You can slowly land in front and wait for my carriage. It's safer that way."

Liriah had black lines all over her face. Who in their right mind would jump over such height even though it was nothing to her? Could she say she was abandoned or thrown away by her own lord? She wasn't willing to be interrogated by her sister, even if they were relatives. She ignored the chatter around and rubbed her chin with one hand, realizing perhaps her lord already discovered her inner thoughts and gave a little punishment. Well, the penalty nearly scared the baby to death.

Noire discovered her sister wasn't listening and even patted her own chest. Angry, she slapped Liriah hard on her back to the brink of falling flat on the ground.

"Ouch! What was that for? Do you wanna fight?" Liriah squeezed her fist, displaying her macho aura, which was immediately wilted by her sister's calm deep eyes. Where was her show of power? Because in front of Noire, she would always be a little girl. Even though their levels were equal, combat power wasn't. Liriah was always easily defeated by Noire within 20 strokes. This happened every time and she already had nightmares to spar with Noire.

"Answer me, why you flew over the convoy, and what's wrong with your mount, leaving you alone?" Noire sprouted several questions. What else Liriah could do but honestly admit Lireesa's order and try to reduce her shameful state in the explanations. She must remember this humiliation from her mount who betrayed its owner without hesitation. All those sleepless nights staying together to train her mount were all wasted. Her sufferings must be repaid; she would be waiting for it to come back and was looking forward to its justification.

Dragonhawk: "…!"

Does the owner remember it couldn't speak. Why don't you confront the lady riding on me instead? Fearing the strong and bullying the weak. Hmph!

At first, when Lireesa tossed away Liriah, she was astounded to discover the dragonhawk struggling to get rid of her. She later soothed it by whispering in the ear and the method seemed to work. Naturally, all of these dragonhawks were trained by her since their birth from the eggs and this was the reason her mount calmed down after the initial panic because it recognized Lireesa's aura. Another reason should be allocated to the safe landing of its master which made it understand Lireesa never intended to harm Liriah.

Lireesa flew up and enjoyed the feeling of air brushing past her while her coat and hair danced wildly to the wind. As she climbed higher the change of scenery was mesmerizing. Her wide-opened mouth stagnant from shock by the exquisite sight. The vision from the heights was incomparable and incomprehensible if one never experienced it once. No descriptions, poems, or art could sincerely express the splendor.

Of course, during the flight, Lireesa noticed an inexplicable hunch. She had a premonition her upgrade toward the Legend realm was nearing with each passing day. Except that Lireesa couldn't confirm the exact time of her breakthrough, she was delighted with an increase in her strength. She was aware of such feeling when she held Thas'dorah for the first time and the resonation with the bow didn't allow her to think too much but to guess it was excited to go out with its owner. But now combined with her possibility of becoming a legend in conjunction with Thas'dorah's exhilaration, her bow already knew her upgrade was imminent and welcomed its first legendary wielder.

The same feeling happened when she initially grasped the law of the wind. Lireesa's understanding of wind increased tremendously during the flight and she savored this notion, closing her eyes. Although she couldn't make use of those wind elements, Lireesa was sure now she somehow possessed a slight control of wind elements 50 meters around her, and the feeling subsided when her comprehension ended after some moment.

When she opened her eyes, she realized she was flying in an unknown direction and halted the flight, hovering to discern her location. Even with her memory after studying the map, she couldn't help but panic as she lost her orientation. Lireesa wondered if the previous Lireesa was really a road idiot. Otherwise, how was she still lost in her direction during travel? Luckily, she managed to open some bags on the saddles and found the map, which was different from the map she studied in her office. It appeared air force also had their type of map chart and Lireesa was able to understand. She heaved a sigh of relief.

Where was she going to put her majesty if she returned and picked up Liriah for help? Going back to Windrunner's manor would also be an embarrassment. Of course, she was never steadfast and stupid enough to affect the whole important situation due to her stubbornness.

Now she whistled in a good mood and directed the dragonhawk under her to another direction confidently, singing gibberish along the way.

"Run in the wind, that's our Windrunner!..."
