Chapter 14: Trouble

Amber Forest is a green ocean of mysteries in land. It is a cradle of all sorts of mysterious phenomena and powerful mystical beings. So it is normal that it hides perils in every part of this land.

Luis stared at the miserable sight in front of him. His heart is pounding so loud that he can't even hear the faint whispers of the wind.

Five injured moon elves, one who is on the death's door. All of them lying on the ground with pieces of fabrics as cover. Luis quickly inspected their wounds with his naked eyes and realize that this is not a work of beasts. The deep lacerations that is carved in their bloodied bodies hints that this is a work of a weapon. The one with the worst wound has a long gaping wound stretching from left shoulder down to the right pelvis. It's a wonder how can this young man came back here alive.

Luis pursed his lips as he felt a dreading feeling. This is not a simple incident.

The team who went to hunt is silent and grieving. Cries of the relatives of the injured warriors can be heard from the outside of the communal hall.

"My Lord," Rion stepped forward to explain only to be interrupted by the calm voice of Luis. "Spare the explanation for later. Move all the injured moon elves inside the communal hall. Make sure that they are not laying directly on the ground. Cover the ground with at least a clean animal skin or cloth. Boil clean water to clean the wounds of the warriors before putting anything else. Then make sure to cool it down first before using. Wind power sentinels, I will hold you in charge for that.

Prepare the hemostatic potions and clean bondage that you guys have. Nicol and Legland, you guys are in charge of the overall management."

"I know that you guys knows how to do it right?" Strings of commands came out fluidly from Luis mouth. His tone was strong and very authoritative. The carefree expression that he maintained few minutes ago are all gone.

"Leave it to us my lord!"

Luis nodded at his subordinates with a solemn face.

At this point, he did not care whatever others will think of him and had focused on what he can do. He opened the system and bought the revitalization skill with all of the system points that he has.

"I will use my power to at least keep their life. Go on and hurry" Faint green string of light shoot out from his two hands and each of the strings landed on the six injured warrior. Then the whole body of the moon elf glowed in a green light as if they are protected by it.

Revitalization is a skill that replenishes the energy of the plants to make them grow healthy.

Once it is used on non-plant beings, then the skill can eliminate fatigue and strengthen the body. It is an ultimate buff skill.

This is something that most wood ability users know in apocalypse. However, what they didn't know is that once you reach the fifth level, this buff effect can actually make a life saving by product and it is pseudo-healing.

Revitalize does not directly closes the wounds like the healing ability that was sought after among most bases.

This skill works by pumping large amounts of energy to the gravely injured person which in turn can preserve his life while silently triggering the natural healing properties of the body.

This skill is energy consuming so he didn't use it that much especially if he is in a dangerous situation.

He is just a human with a very limited pool of energy and doing this requires a lot of mental strength. If he had gone overboard then it is quite possible that he will render unconscious and worse, die.

Aside from that, proper medical attention is still needed to save someone's life on top of his revitalize skill and yes, he may have the ability to hasten the recovery of the wound but that is when the injury is properly treated.

That is the reason why he asked his moon elves to treat it with their own way.

Sentinels and other warriors from Hyon Clan immediately moved based on the orders of the moon elf lord. The injured are moved to a clean place.

They didn't bother to look at the wondrous sight of this foreign power that they haven't ever seen.

Everyone was walking in a fast pace.

Accomplishing the order from the moon elf lord one by one.

Luis then walked on the young moon elf with the worst wounds. He saw a middle age bearer with a brown short hair weeping beside the injured moon elf, "Jiro, please wake up. My son! Please you wanted to become a sentinel someday right? Come on! You need to wake up!" The mother shouted in hysterics.

"You wouldn't want to move him or else he will die faster."

"My lord!" exclaimed another bearer who is trying to console the weeping mother. He looks so identical with Olyn that Luis even noticed it even at this state of emergency. "Please I beg you to save my friend's son. I am Olyn's mother if you permit, then I am willing to serve you all my life."

The weeping was immediately stopped as if someone pushed the pause button. The mother dramatically hit the ground, spawning a knee-high mound of earth.

"You shameless thing! Who is your friend? We're you trying to steal my son? I am the mother!" Gea turned to Luis and kneeled with his face touching the ground. "My Lord, I beg you to save my son's life. I am willing to serve you as long as I am alive without any other conditions. Starve me, hurt me, I don't mind as long as my son is alive."

Luis decided to ignore the complicated 'friendship' of the two bearers and focus on the more touching part.

He had seen a lot of mothers who did not hesitate to push their child to death during the apocalypse.

However, he had also seen mothers who are willing to do anything just to keep their children alive. And every time he would see such self-sacrifice he will always feel himself soften.

Fine, he is weak when it comes to such drama.

Luis moved to pacify the mother. Once again, someone interjected to this dramatic scene.

"My lord, I beg of you. Please save Jiro, I watched him grow up and he is my good friend my lord." Luis didn't know when but he found Olyn kneeling together with his mother and Jiro's mother.

"Olyn, haven't I told you to not kneel in front of me? You, and all of my moon elves are not allowed to kneel to anyone under any case." Luis said in a chilling tone while silently sending more of his power to Jiro. He is worried that the young moon elf will die out of cardiac arrest due to excessive blood lost. Large volume of his power are being sent out and his energy is leaking stronger and stronger. This gives a vague oppressing feeling to the moon elves around him.

"Should I make that rule a law that binds each and everyone of you so that you will be punished once you break it."

The moon elves subconsciously trembled. All they thought was: The Lord is super mad!

Olyn once again felt that he caused dissatisfaction to the lord and he felt like he is physically hurting! Fat tears freely flowed down his flushed cheeks.

"Olyn, all I wanted is you to stand on your ground and look at me as you ask for it. Now, I ask you. Is this your reward for fixing my bedroom wall and helping me make my first pair of T-shirt and pants?"

"Eh?!" Olyn is in a state of confusion.

"I am asking you if you want my help as a reward for the favors that you did for me."

"I will take that as a reward, my Lord!" Olyn subconsciously raised his voice and he did not notice it. Luis on the other hand, realized it so he dismissed it and said playfully. "Well, forget it. I'll just let you think of different reward. Tell it to me next time."

"My lord, please save Jiro as my reward. I want him!" Olyn said a little more desperately this time.

"Well, let's talk some other time." Luis said to conclude his fun. "By that time make sure to say it to me directly."

And a stronger and more binding greenish light shone at the entire communal hall.
