Chapter 5: 5: The Sudden Visit

"Hah.. am soo tired." Nate had being thinking about the new quest he had received from the system. The event at the Square still fresh in his mind.
Josh had followed him home without him noticing anything out of place. His house been at the outskirt made it so that not many peoples could locate him, but with an expert as Josh it was very easy.
"Punishment.....What sort of punishment would that be. Forget it, I don't want to know." He said firmly, the unknown was fearful and he was afraid of not been able to complete the quest with the given limit.
Holding his head, he muttered;"It's fun though." A smile bloomed on his face. The fact of him having a beautiful lady as Maria made him want to grab every opportunity and complete the quest.
The sounds of birds could be heard chirping and singing. The atmosphere and temperature completing the fantastic scene of the green courtyard.
"Please, protect him. I think those guys will come back for him.. I don't care if it's not public.." Maria said with a cold voice. She knew Nate was in deep trouble for offending those guys.
"I will do that, my lady." Josh said with a bow. He left the Castle hearing to Nate's location. He was confused. He didn't know why his lady valued Nate that that much.
"Hah, why is the lady so interested in this guy. Is it because he's handsome?I know that they planned a marriage for them, but since his mother died the planned was cut off."
Like this, he got to Nate's house in a flash, with no one following him or seeing him. Soon he could the see the familiar building he had seen the morning.
"The lights are on. I'm sure he is in there."
Without further ado, he searched for a secured place and hid. Staying active to keep watch. And like this, he kept watch that that night never slacking nor taking a step from his position.
Inside the building, Nate was currently sleeping peacefully on the wooden bed. A happy and thoughtful expression in his face. It seemed he was having a good sleep; one he hadn't had for a while.
Early in the morning Nate woke up. Getting off the bed, he made his way to the waterfall and took a bath. He cleaned himself and put on perfumes to smell nice.
The sound of birds singing vibrated through the forest enlivening the forest.
Josh has left earlier when the sun was arising from the horizon. He had to make it to the castle in time to escort Maria.
Nate returned after taking his bath from the waterfall. He made breakfast with the knowledge of this world with his world through the assimilation of the memories.
"Can't believe I made sandwiches in this world.... aayy." He took all the prepared breakfast to this table. Took his seat and was about to eat when he suddenly heard a knock on his door.
"Who would it be. I don't receive visitors much." He shrugged, making his way to the door. He normally received guest so he didn't know who it was.
Opening the door, he could see a familiar face; a face he was not going to forget in the near days.
He was left speechless. The person he had been thinking of was now in front of his door.
"Am I hallucinating. How did she get here?" He thought that because he had been thinking about her for too long he was hallucinating.
"Good morning Nate....." The person greeted with a sweet voice.
"....."
Nates jaws opened wide the moment he heard the voice. He was too shock to respond to the greetings.
"Am I dreaming because. I have been thinking about you too much...tsa tsa, I have to stop?" He said to himself, trying to calm down since he didn't believe she was here.
"Oh, so you have been thinking about me....I now know " Maria replied with a giggle.
Before he could process what was happening he saw Joyab standing behind her. He got frightened and came back to his senses that it was real and he wasn't seeing things.
"Won't you invite me in?" Maria asked. She had the aura of a scholar.
Nate immediately came back to his senses. Not waiting any longer, he signaled for them to come in.
"It's just me me though. Josh will be waiting for me." Maria voiced. Seeing that Nate was welcoming the two of them, she corrected.
"You mean....he will wait outside?" Nate asked pointing to Josh. He could see a nonchalant look on his face. And it seems he didn't care.
"Hmm... I said soo..!" She said with a pout. Knowing Maria since childhood, she never wants to repeat herself in words. She hate that.
Maria entered the house and saw how shaggy it was inside. This was the first time entering Nate's abode ever since he moved from the town. She felt very bad and sad for him.
"I was about to have breakfast, will you join me!?" Nate asked seeing how Maria was having a look around his place. He was embarrassed to be called a young man.
Maria accepted the offer and walked with him side by side to the dinning place. Sitting down, they faced each other; stealing glances at each other's face.
"Nate, you have changed....a lot. I can feel something new from you." Maria said. He was staring at Nate attentively. Trying to find out what it was.
"What! I don't think so. It's just that...hmm, it's been a long time since me met." Nate tried to steer the conversation.
They kept catching up and talking about many things. They talked, remembering past activities and encounters they have had. But Nate will dodge most of the questions Maria asked.
"Nate you have changed a lot. Don't tell me...it because...blah blah." Maria asked. This time making sure Nate wouldn't dodge the question.
Nate turned to look at a frame on the wall. He seemed to remember a past memory.
"Yeah I have to change for the better, been alone in this world was not good....at all." He said as he started to eat.
"You should just come and live with us," She suddenly said as they were eating.
"You know I won't do that, you don't know what will hap.... "Nate didn't finish his words when Maria put her finger on his lips before muttering,
"Nothing will happen, my father will agree, and I guarantee that."
"You are beautiful Maria, and you can't tell what will happen if I stay with you." He blushed as he said
When Maria heard those words, she got happy and a smile bloomed on her face
"If nothing happens, then you are not a man."she replied
As Nate heard that he also became happy, he knew that this is his chance. He has to take this opportunity and make some moves so he moved his seat to the side of Maria
"My place is not comfortable, I like it here"He said as he scratched his hair
"Ha haha haha "Maria started laughing when she heard him say that
"This is your house, you can do anything" She replied.
"You mean can I also do this," He said as he raised his hands and held her hands.
When he held her hands she blushed but didn't object. This made Nate happy inside, he decided to take it step by step. So he started to tease her,
"Are you blushing?"
Maria's heart squirmed as she wanted to object.
"N.. no I... I am not"
This made Nate happy because his plan is in action and is on the road to success. He wanted to finish everything here but was afraid that it will backfire on.
They continued to talk and as it was getting to evening Maria said her good bye and told him that she will visit again tomorrow. This made Nate happy inwardly as he also told her to come.
When Maria got home she took a bath ate supper and went to her bedroom, She sat on her bed as she was recalling what today.She felt happy for some reason and couldn't sleep so she decided to take a walk in her balcony.
The moment Maria went Nate also started recalling what he did to her.
"She liked it, tomorrow will be a better day" he thought.
He laid on his bed and decided to check his system.
