Chapter 2: Chapter 1 - Alvador City [1]
The city had many streets, and they were all bustling with people all over the place. Cars or modern vehicles do not exist in this world, except for the train. Most people in this world have much faster cars, and there are also many different kinds of tamable monsters you can ride on.
There are also many species of flying monsters, but the ones that most people use the most are wyverns.
Wyverns are very fast at flying in the sky, and they are also very strong creatures, so they will be able to give you a safe ride as they can protect you from most dangers in the sky.
Sian, however, didn't need any of them to travel. He can just teleport to his location, and voila, he has reached his destination.
Though he didn't do that. He wanted to explore the city while he had the chance. So he aimlessly walked from street to street and saw many things along the way.
He saw a shop owned by a dwarf, probably a blacksmith, a store selling beauty products with elves as salespeople, and many other things. But the thing that caught his attention the most was a 7-story tall building called the ADMECO, short for Adventurers and Mercenaries Corporation.
He wanted to check it out, but he still had a meeting with Lady Catherina. So maybe later. He headed to a street near the center of the city, and there he found a luxurious looking hotel.
The hotel had ten floors and about fourteen rooms on each floor. Judging from its outside appearance, you could tell it's very expensive.
The hotel was the location where Lady Catherina agreed to meet with him. It was called the Marquis Avier Hotel, and it was owned by a marquis from the empire.
The moment Sian arrived in front of the hotel's entrance, he was met with the sight of two beautiful and gorgeous ladies who attracted the eyes of many onlookers.
One of them has fair white skin and a voluptuous body. Her fine, dark blue hair is silky and smooth, reaching her waist, and her blue dress only adds to her beauty. She is very beautiful, and her cherry red lips make her even more attractive. Her bright blue eyes seem to contain a cold gaze, making it appear distant and making the people around her look away.
And the girl next to her also had fair skin and a shapely body. She had shapely eyebrows, gold-like eyes, and rosy lips, so it was evident that she was also a beauty. Though she had a particular charm to her that made her look holy.
'I can't make two beautiful girls wait for me, can I?' Sian thought after he finished admiring the beauty of the two. Then everything changed, from his aura, attitude to even the way he walks and acts.
"P-Please forgive me if I'm late, lady Catherina!" He spoke in an 'anxious' and 'worried' voice as if he were afraid of something.
Catherina looked at the way he acted and got a glimpse of how his previous masters treated him. She frowned a little, but seeing Sian act that way made her want to protect him for some reason.
"It's fine, and don't worry, you're not late. Let's go inside and continue our conversation after a light meal." She said this and entered the hotel, with Maya and Sian following along.
The inside of the hotel was really a sight to behold. It had many art paintings made by famous artists, costly decorations, and the people inside were all wearing fancy clothes and eating in an elegant manner.
Catherina headed to the back part of the hotel where the restaurant was and sat on one of the empty tables with the two of them.
A waiter then arrived to take her order as soon as she sat down. Talk about customer service. The waiter told her about all the special menus they had for today and waited for her to order.
"What would you like, Sian? Just order anything you like and don't worry about the cost."
"Ah, I'm fine with eating anything, lady Catherina."
"Hmm. Is that so... then please give us all your special menus for today and three Merna juices for each of us, thank you." She ordered, and the waiter wrote it all down. As they waited for the food to arrive, she talked about some stuff, like where he would stay after this and how she would return to the capital in a month. Of course, Sian will be following her there.
Then, after five minutes, their food was delivered to their table. The hotel really had great customer service, it was really befitting of being a luxurious hotel. Then they ate their food.
Catherina ate her food in a graceful manner, and the same was true of Maya. As for Sian, he also ate in a manner showing good manners.
After finishing their food and drinking their juice, a waiter came up and cleaned their table. Now it was time for their talk to start. Catherina went on to introduce herself first.
"Let me introduce myself. I am Catherina Avier, and as you can guess, I am the daughter of the owner of this hotel, Marquess Avier. And the one here is Maya, she has been protecting me since I was a child, so we're very close to each other, and she's also the person I trust the most."
"Nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you too, Maya."
"Then, please, let me also introduce myself to you properly this time, Lady Catherina. I am Sian Snyder, and I would like to be your butler."
"Me too it's a pleasure to have you as my butler. So that means starting today you will be my personal attendant, and you will follow me to the capital in a month." They shook hands with a smile on their faces.
They left the table and walked around for a few minutes so that Sian would get familiar with the place where he would be staying for a month. Afterwards, they arrived in front of something like an elevator.
The elevator door was a sliding one that was made of transparent metal. The elevator operates in a unique way. Catherina explained that instead of the elevator going up and down, they used metal, which is a great conductor for Spatial Magia to teleport the person inside to their desired floor.
The tree entered then teleported to the 10th floor and walked towards room 139, where Sian would be staying, just next to room 140, where Catherina and Maya's room was. They talked for a little then headed inside their respective rooms.
Inside Sian roomed around, checking out every corner of the room. There was a wide bath, a futuristic kitchen, and a large bed that can fit two people. The room also had a living room with a sofa, which Sian was currently sitting on. He looked at the box-like device on top of the table in front of him.
Catherina said it was a high-tech gadget that uses light magia and acts like a TV. She also said that it was voice-activated, so he was curious and tried to turn it on.
"Power on?" He said that, and the gadget turned on; then it showed moving pictures of people in high quality. Sian then turned from channel to channel, searching for something interesting and watching it with excitement.
And just like that, 30 days passed with Sian doing some minor work from time to time, but the thing he did the most other than watch TV was improve his relationship with Catherina, and they got a little closer over the month.
It was now time for them to leave the city. Catherina needed to return to the capital for the academy, and Sian will be going with her to attend to her as her personal attendant, but to do that he needed to pass the examination to enter the academy.
So during his stay at the hotel, he was taught both by Catherina and Maya the basic knowledge about Aeven and Aura.
According to them, there were three kinds of people. One is someone who uses Aeven; one uses Aura; and lastly, one uses both.
Aeven is a power used by people who lean more towards Magia. With Aeven, you can cast many different Magia spells. You can also get stronger by using Aeven, either by becoming more proficient in using it as you develop original spells or by learning powerful Magia spells.
There are also stages, and you are ranked according to your strength when you reach your current stage.
The stages are divided into seven different levels, starting from the first heaven. 1st heaven stage is when a person is able to manifest Aeven, then 2nd heaven stage is when a person is able to infuse their Aeven into an object, and from then on, 3rd heaven stage, 4th heaven stage, and so on.
The next one is aura, as every person in the world is born with an aura inside them; they just need to awaken it either through training or when they reach the age of 16.
Auras have different colors, and the most basic ones are transparent, red, and blue. There are also variations of colors, but most of them are rare, and mostly geniuses are the ones who have them.
The ones who awakened their aura before age 16 are called geniuses or people with high talent, and they are more prioritized by the academy, which nurtures them to be powerful people in the future for the empire.
Sian got out of his room and ate breakfast on the ground floor, then he used the elevator to teleport to the top floor and went to the rooftop. There he waited with Catherina and Maya.
It was only after a few minutes that a white wyvern twice the size of a normal one was seen speeding from the sky towards them. At first it was only a small dot, but it soon turned bigger and bigger until it landed on the rooftop, showing its massive size.
The Wyvern's wing span alone was enough to cover half of the hotel's rooftop, so you could clearly tell it was very large.
"What is that?" Sian asked 'nervously'.
"It's a white wyvern and an alpha of its kind also. Our ride to the capital." She replied as she got on top of the massive creature along with Maya.
The wyvern had its body lowered, so it was relatively easy for Sian to hop on its back.
"Oh by the Sian, don't worry about falling off when we're flying; Maya will take care of that."
Lax nodded at her words. Then Catherina signaled the Wyvern, and it spread its wings and launched into the sky, creating a shockwave of wind down below that made the hotel shake for a moment as it headed towards the empire's capital.
