In the middle of an endless darkness, we can see a bright, small being wandering through the endless darkness.
Lucas' POV:
Lucas: "Shit, I knew I should have improved the mansion's security after the last attempt on my life," Lucas knew it was only a matter of time before the government got involved. When he only had to deal with competition, it was hard to stay ahead of them, but he could handle it. However, he was becoming very powerful and began to threaten the market dominance of those old, powerful families.
It wasn't long before the government got involved and tried to eliminate him. False accusations, assassination attempts at every turn, it was only a matter of time before they caught him. All the more so because he didn't have many allies, and the few he did have didn't have the strength to enter the fray between titans.
Lucas didn't want to get involved in the business world. It was simply a consequence. He loved studying and discovering new things, and he was very good at it. Perhaps one of the best in the world. It just got to the point where his research required a lot of money, or his discoveries would be detrimental to the elite. Like his cancer research, which was barred. The tycoons who owned the pharmaceutical conglomerates didn't want the research to succeed, as they made a lot of money from cancer treatment.
So Lucas was forced to get involved in the business world in order to continue his research. He could continue his research, but he wasted too much time looking after his business and even more time dealing with his new enemies.
Lucas: "At least I died quickly. I thought those bastards would want to torture me to get my research. Little do they know that I've accumulated a lot of dirt on them and the government. I couldn't release it before to maintain a balance of power within, but now that I'm dead, everything will be revealed to the media. There's enough dirt there to start World War III."
Before Lucas could continue thinking about the consequences of leaking this information, he was paralyzed. He felt an instinctive fear, as if any wrong move would erase him from existence. Before he could think straight about his situation, he heard a voice.
Unknown Being: "What an interesting soul. You've been in the void for a while and yet you've kept your essence. What must have happened for you to end up in the void?"
Unknown Being: "Let me see. What's so special about you?"
Before Lucas could utter a word, he felt an absurd pain. It was as if he was burning up inside and his memories were being scoured. Just as the pain came, it disappeared instantly.
Lucas knew that whoever was talking to him had the power to easily erase his existence. Even recovering, he didn't dare say anything. He knew that for those who were powerful, those below were less than nothing.
Unknown Being: "Interesting. Your soul has been blessed by the core of your universe. Rare are those like you... I've made up my mind, soul. I want to see what you'll do if I give you a second chance in a world where you can enjoy your full potential."
Being Unknown: "I have no time to waste. Even for me, staying in this void takes a lot of energy. I'll need even more to send you to a new universe. I'll use the energy from your blessing to send you to a universe with magic, and I'll use the rest to give you three wishes and define your appearance. There should be enough energy left over to serve as a meal for me. It's been billions of years since I've eaten such pure energy."
Lucas barely had time to recover from the invasion of his memories, before he received a flood of information in his mind about where he was, what universes he had to choose from and the limits of his wishes. It took him a few minutes to decide on his wishes and universe.
Lucas: "I choose to go to the Harry Potter universe." Despite being a world with a low average power, it is one of the magical worlds with the most flexible and adaptable magic. What's more, it's the universe he's most familiar with. From time to time, in between his research, he liked to read fiction. He mainly read sci-fi, but sometimes fantasy. He really liked the Harry Potter universe.
Lucas: "For my first wish, I want a universal evolutionary talent. For my second wish, I want evolutionary mental faculties, and for my last wish, I want my own world, like Spatial Farm, where I can grow both fauna and flora and minerals." Lucas knew that with just the first wish he could already stand at the top of any universe. Now, with the other two, it was the perfect trinity.
Unknown Being: "Very well. I'll put a limitation on your first request to leave more energy for my meal. Your first wish will only work on what you come into contact with first. You'll have chakra talent if you come into contact with it first."
Before Lucas could say anything else, a black hole appeared in front of him. Immediately afterwards, he felt energy coming out of it and felt weak. He watched as that energy was sucked into the black hole before three glowing orbs came out of the same black hole and entered his body.
Unknown Being: "What pure energy. It will make a fine meal. Here, soul, your wishes. Perhaps we'll meet again, as fate would have it."
Before Lucas could think, he flew out through a crack that appeared behind him. The only thing he could think of as he was swallowed up by the crack was what life had in store for him. Too bad he lost consciousness just before he was swallowed up, otherwise he would have seen an infinite number of universes while being transported to one in particular.
