Chapter 67: Used to know each other

She playfully eyed Lucien. "You are oddly quiet. Did something happen?" Lucien shook his head. "I just have a lot on my mind, that's all." He gestured towards Aerilyn. "I don't think your friends like each other much, though." There was amusement in his voice.

Levina turned and saw Aerilyn and Marie having a hushed argument. Whatever it was they were talking about was serious because they both looked like they were about to pounce at each other. Aerilyn even jabbed a finger on Marie's chest, and Marie slapped her finger away in retaliation. Did they know each other before now? Levina wondered with a frown on her face.

"It's probably nothing," Soren said. He, too, was watching the two women.

Levina nodded. She turned to Lucien. "What was the outcome of the meeting?"

"Zarek wanted to confirm the information first," Lucien said, air-quoting the word 'confirm.' "We have been called again. The dragons that were sent to confirm the information just came back."
