Chapter 2: New Game

After we get to her house, Serisa and I end up grabbing a deck of cards, and watch horror movies in her room.

We kiss every few minutes, taking a break to take each other in between each kiss.

"Okay, time for bed. Zaser, come on, out." Her mom says, opening the door.

I slip Serisa a kiss and smile, as I step out.

Her mom walks over to her own room, and grabs a blanket for me.

"T-thank you Mrs..." I say, quietly...

She nods, and walks off to Serisa's room, and for about 20 minutes she stays in there, and comes out giggling.

'Sweet Dreams.' I hear, before Seris's Mom head to her room, and when she opens the door, I see a grumpy father...

"So... How are we going to keep them from fucking?" I hear, quietly.

"Why focus on them?" I hear from her mom in a seductive tone.

Blushing, I lay down on the couch, and try to sleep. Wait, the game. I text Serisa about how I'm about to go in, and to look for Sacaroth.

Neither of us are going to be the classes we wanted from the start, so...

"K. Signing in, see you soon..." She texts back.

I quietly sneak over to her room, and try to slowly open the door.

She smiles as I peak my head in, and I smile back. I gesture, like I was drinking a glass, and point at her.

She smiles again, and nods.

I return, with a glass of water.

"Thanks..." She praises, blushing.

"Your welcome..." I say, seductively, kissing her.

"No horny tonight, Numbnuts. Lay down, come on." She "scolds", patting next to her on the bed, gesturing.

As I lay down, she kisses me, and pins me down to the bed, locking my body down, and intertwining my tongue with hers.

"Cuddles..." She says in a cute voice, and I obliged.

Then we talk for about an hour, whispering sweet words to the other, until we both fall asleep, content. I mean, we're both wearing our undies.

(Logging in. Xerxes Cooperation, brings you...

Reality. Enjoy, Player, as you fight alongside allies and foes, to meet YOUR goal. Live your life.) It notifies me, powering on.

(Lucky You! You qualified for our Raffle! Spin the wheel! #45/100) It says, conjuring a space in my mind, with a prize wheel.

It has 6 cuts, all different sizes.

3 Rare Magics, 2 Epic Magics, 1 Legendary Magic, 3 Unique Rare Skills, 2 Unique Epic Skills, And the smallest, 1 Divine Skill.

Obviously, all six are good options.

"What caused me to qualify?" I ask.

(At least 3 A's in your Report Card. You had 4. In any case, you'll get to chose from a list based on result.) It notifies me again, happily.

"Thanks." I say, and I grab it.

(Wait, before you do.) It says, too late.

It seems to spin forever, but eventually it slows down, and it hovers over the Epic Magics, then the Divine skill for a long moment, and lands on 2 Unique Epic Skills.

(Congratulations! You won! Now spin a secondary wheel, for a Free starter class, as you are in the top 20 in your grade, in your country!)

A second wheel appears, and its covered in HUNDREDS of sections, and Its about as wide across as a bus is long.

I pull a lever, and it spins, ferociously, and chiming rings out as it passes sections, all marked with unique marks, and i notice pieces are dissapearing.

(Nice job! You noticed that we are giving out unique classes. These won't count towards the normal class limit of 3. Reach level 100 for class 3 or "4".)

Ooh.

It slows, passing over several cool looking symbols, and lands on one that looks really cool. It's like a rose with triangles for petals, and its a semicircle.

*Ding* *Ding* A bell rings out.

"Congratulations! You are now, a Shadowmelder. You will gain several abilities relating to shadow, and your shadow acts as a follower. While it is attached to you, you cannot hide in a shadow, but you're spellcasting abilities increase by 200%."

(Pick 2 Lists) It prompts, and it offers 8 to chose from.

I pick randomly, deciding it'd be easier that way. I notice spots on the lists dissapearing, and pick fast, one from either.

I found this nifty little one called Sound Regeneration. Based off noise near me, I'll heal. Basically, if its louder, my HP Regens faster. If it's quieter, my Mana Regenerates.

On the other list, I end up deciding to pick this strange combination ability, which allows for elemental fusion, but it has to be all compatible elements, and it can be used once per fight.

But that disappears from in front of my eyes, and I look for a different one.

2 minutes later, most of the choices are gone.

But I found what's mine.

Aspect Of Choice. It's a skill that'll increase what I want, by 500%, but I need to be specific, like say, Regeneration. All types or Regen will have it increase. I can pick skills, magic, almost anything. I can even amplify someone else. The less specific it is, the less it increases. Like say, Body. It'll increase physical stats, by 250%, comparatively to increasing a stat of my choice by 500%.

This is a better choice, Developer wise, as less means more power, but more power means less thing increased.

For now, I set it to increase Sound Regeneration.

I send a friend invite to Serisa, and I wait for the servers to boot up.

Just to be clear they're launching today its the most popular game due to demand, and they made it relatively easier to play, after designing watches, which were given to beta testers.

(Welcome Players. We have spread word of Heros, and of Villains, about to ravage this world. It is up to you, to pick, "Sides.", but in the end, we hope you enjoy. As a message from the dev team, expect difficulty, and to have to use your brain. Have fun! Also P.S it's all villages there's one kingdom please help establish civilization, you'll get cool shit...)

It announces. All of a sudden, we're in.

And I'm in the middle of a big open field. And there is other people.

"Hey Hey!" Someone says, climbing a tree near the edge of the field.

I wave, and they wave back.

"So, temporary co-op, until we decide what we're doing?" I hear, from the climber.

"Sounds good here." I shout, walking over.

Shadow...

'Yes?' It asks.

Should I increase you, or is there a specific aspect, you'd like.

'Oh. Me is fine. May I fight? I like to do so.' It asks.

"Um, yeah, but lets wait a bit." I say, walking over. The climber dude jumps down, and breaks his right leg, and I watch it crumple and shatter. He put his weight on that leg.

"SHIT!" He cries out, wincing in pain.

"HEY, FIELDIES, WE HAVE A BROKEN LEG OVER HERE, CAN WE GET HIM A HAND?" I shout.

"Fuck off!" I hear from a distance.

"Sorry, man." I apoligize.

"Nah, it's my fault. It does feel better already..." He says, smiling at me, and winces a bit, still in pain.

I look around, and see a large stick. Straight enough for a cane. Long enough for him.

"So, what you've got?" I ask, grabbing it, breaking off unsatisfactory sticks of the sides of it, handing it to him.

"Three Rare skills..." He says, disappointed.

"Eh, can't be too bad, if it was worse off, they'd put five." I say, helping him up. He smiles.

I decide to put the aspect in XP Gain.

'Shadow, please hunt for animals who will be easier to kill and grind off of, but don't exterminate.' I Order, and it leaves, unnoticed.

"You're right. I'll see what I can do to help you later, man." He says, limping with his cane.

"HEY, YOU STILL IN THE FIELD, HE HAS A CANE, I'M WALKING INTO THOSE WOODS." I call out, and I hear laughing.

"I think they might PK you..." I say, turning towards him. He smiles.

"We just spawned in, I have a broken leg as my best item. Probably get me babied. I'd rather die to a player then to myself..." He says, walking through the tall grass of the field.

(Level Up! +5 SP, +3 SKLP)

I hear.

I look through menus, and its pretty cool what they did, but a lot of it i cant do yet. Can't even access half of the options, so its cool I have access to this much stuff. Like a skill shop where I use SKLP, Skill Points, to buy, or upgrade skills.

There's even a cool skill fusion system, but it's complicated and not easy to use. Or explain.

Anyway, Rare Skills need 2 SKLP to upgrade, Epic, 3, Legendary 5, and Divine 10. Any lower then Rare is just 1 point. Trash Skills, or Nulls, count as 1 point double upgrades. Appearantly, after the first upgrade, it adds different uses, to skills, rather then increasing firepower.

I put the points in Aspect Of Choice, Upgrading it. Concept Of Choice, and now its a 750% boost.

I use it to boost Mana Regen, and start practicing moving shapes like the Info Leak said, like it was my own body.

(Skill Mana Control, Gained.)

(Choose a first element. Shadow, Metal, Sound.)

Sound...

(Sound Magic, Gained. Skill, Volume, gained. Volume: Increase or decrease how much noise you make.) It explains. I smile, and I amplify Skills, not any specific one. 375% boost to all. I like Concept Of Choice.

I turn my volume down, and its UI is a neat dial menu that I can position where I want, using my body as a anchor for its position. That's when menus are open though.

I should be absolutely silent now.

Oh wait, what Skills did I get for Shadowmelder?

Shadowmeld: Meld into shadows, and enter a subspace of the shadow you enter. Can bring objects and people in. Can meld shadows from a defeated creature, into your shadow, and unlock new forms for your shadow.

ShadowFiend: Your Shadow, is capable of fighting. It has to be able to disconnect from you, to do so. While attached, Magic Based stats 200% increase.

Shadowblade: Cloak your blade in shadow, and stab it into your foes shadow. Does damage based on spot struck, and has a base 100% extra shadow damage. Deals whatever elemental damage the weapon has.

And that's it. Pretty powerful start.

I lay down in the grass, after thinking about that one dude, and the other players, and start crawling towards the voices.

I then realized, I can enter the grasses shadow, and travel along it's connected shadow. Might head for a deep cave type dungeon.

Anyway, I locate the few guys in the field, and silently follow them. I'm technically 350% extra absolutely silent.

COC:Damage. COC = Concept Of Choice...

I grab the guy closest to me by the throat, and cover his mouth, and squeeze his neck, pulling down to the ground, and punch him in his face, hard.

(+25% Exp, 75% left.)

I check his pulse, and apparently, knocking them out works.

COC:Physical Force Output.

Basically the amount of force exerted, I.E 5 pounds of force, would equal 47.5 lbs of force.

So a punch at about 20 lbs to about 60, multiply by seven, and add half the original value, then heavy hit.

I decide to sprint towards the others, and launch myself into the air, about 5 feet up.

"HOLY SHIT! SPEEDSTER!" I hear. I'm still muted, I'm shouting profanities as well.

Wait a minute.

COC: Defense

I feel myself get heavier, but now I can fist fight these fuckers.

I get hit by a fireball, and it feels warm where it hit, but it didn't hurt.

(Defense = 750% of original value, Magical Resistance = 200% of original value. 1500% Magical Resistance.)

"Thanks, was a bit chilly." I say, grinning. Increasing my volume, to 3 times normal, my max.

"Shadow, return to me, and conquer my foes!" I shout, to get its attention.

I see a blot of black in a spot clear of grass, darting towards us, and I smile, and it's like I could feel the fear.

Turning myself down a bit, to normal I continue talking.

"So, are we all going to NOT, attack each other?" I call. "Yeah..." I hear reluctantly.

"Great! Let's find a town! Unless you boy's would like to hunt for some food, seems like a mechanic they included." I say, patting my rumbling stomach. Which, is angry.

"I'd be better of with ham then venison." I hear, from behind, and it's the climber.

"Same here, but sheep isn't near here, as far as I'm aware." I say, and all of us group up. They freak out when I show the dude I knocked unconscious, but apparently that's enough incentive to not fight.

I hand him to another dude, and I count how many of us there are here. 5.

"Okay, so, how was your day?" I ask, as we all wander into the distance.

"Eh, could've been better. Yours?" The Fireballer says.

"I met a girl, and we're going on a date here in a bit." I say, grinning.

"Lucky..." I hear from climber dude.

"Eh, I just moved to my area, must be the mysterious air about." I say, grinning wider.

"Well, we're all newbs, not like knowing each other now is important. Goals, though?" I hear the tallest dude ask.

"Personally, I want an Assassin Class, but Sorcerer is the only magic class I know is for certain good good. Maybe Magus." I say.

"A Paladin Assassin sounds decent, with your Magic Resistance..." The Pyro says, muttering.

"Thanks for the suggestion. How many of us here spun the Skill Wheel, and how many Class Wheel?" I ask. The Mage raises his hand.

"Solar Knight. I'm a bit weak without a weapon." He says.

"K, fine, but you shouldn't reveal what. Or abilities. All five of us are better off not knowing what another of us can do." I say, and we all agree.

Everyone is quiet for the evening, other then the chit chat about what kind of personality we like, and I sit that out.

I'm glad I customized my character, and made him have purple hair. And removed the extra skin I had after losing some weight. I like the genetic algorithm that makes people who are unlucky with their genes to have points to have cool shit.

Closest thing I've got is a thicker log. Not taller tree. I have good genes, I'm content.

Anyway, as night falls, I have the shadow locate prey, and Solar Knight lights a campfire out of sticks we gathered.

"So... Anyone have a cool trick they can do?" I ask. Climber, nods, and waves his hand, and a deck of cards is conjured.

"Ace Up The Sleeve. I can create any card from a deck of cards, and change them, view my cards and what they are, and any card I hold I can turn into another. Doesn't even have to be the same game, works for TCG. Basically a scam skill." He says, flipping five poker cards face up, Summoning Exodia, from Yu-Gi-Oh. He flips them back over, but now they have the original Yu-Gi-Oh back.

"That's a unique skill, man, don't worry, if anything, that means only you can do so." Solar points out.

"Ooh. Yeah, that's awesome." The dude I knocked out says.

"We better see you scam some rich gang." Solar says, and we all laugh.

(1st Day over. Caution, Creating Dungeons. Don't get pulled in.) The server announces.

"Shit. Party up?" Solar says, and they all form one. They all look at me sideways, after not joining.

"Nah, you guys have fun." I say, and I meld into Solars shadow, near the tree line, so they think I left, smiling.

They all stare for a bit, confused. Then Climber sets up a normal deck of cards, and they play Poker, betting Stat points.

Speaking of, I put all of mine into luck. 15 to start with, +5 from level up, so 25 luck, as all Stats were 5.

I'm now 5 times luckier. I pop back out of the tree line.

"Eh, it's boring alone." I say, sitting back down.

"As long as your doesn't change any of our or your cards, deal me up." I say. He smiles, and hands me two, after reshuffling. Double Kings.

"Five stat points. Solar?" He asks, turning.

"5." He says, looking at his cards.

"Same." The tall dude says.

"Eh, I got my ass handed to me, I need mine." The dude I knocked out says, folding.

"I'll match. But I don't have the points, so can I share information regarding my ability?" I ask. They nod.

"If that information is equal worth." Climber says.

"I'd say twice." I say, and he nods. "Ten points boys." He says, placing down the top cards in front of us all. King, 10, 9.

"Total ten, or add?" Solar asks.

"Total." He says, simply.

"I'll take it." He says, smiling.

Tall dude smiles, and nods.

"So thirty point round?" I ask. Solar nods.

Climber takes the top card and places it next to the others. King. After that, Jack.

The dude I knocked out cusses, and shows his queen.

"Glad you folded..." Solar says, looking at his hand.

"Raise, I'll say two." I say, grinning.

"Damn. 5 extra points fine? 45 point round boys?" He says, and the other two nod.

"K." He says, laughing, with a jack, a 6, and a 3.

The others burst out, and Solar flips his, showing a couple 10s.

"Shit, I don't think you shuffled right..." The tall dude says, showing two 2s.

I laugh my ass off, turning mine over.

"GOD DAMN IT!" Solar shouts, meanwhile the tall dude laughs in a low tone.

I distribute the points among the others near equally, with Endurance being the one with most. S P E C I A L...

13 until luck, with that 25...

Anyway, as we console solar, I decide to do something.

COC: Defense

"So... who wants to know one for free anyway?" I say, and they all nod.

"I can decrease and increase noise I make. Be great for an assassin, right?" I say, and they burst out laughing.

"DAMN IT!" Solar shouts, pissed.

"What? Did you pick your skills?" I ask, wondering.

"What? No, I should've classed better..." He says, pouting.

"Wrong skills for the class?" I ask. He shrugs.

"No, I can work with that, I just need to level up, that's just hard when your points are gone." He says, and I nod, agreeing.
