Chapter 6: 6) A Duel
Kirsch was mad at me for teasing him " I Kirsch vermillion challenge you to a duel "
He said. I just replied with a No, I do not want to draw attention to myself although I may have already done so by using magic at age of 5. I don't want even more attention. Kirsch just mocks me saying "Are you scared of my beautiful presence " I wanted to accept the duel and beat the hell out of him but I controlled myself.
if I couldn't take this small insult I wouldn't have chosen to go the peaceful route(lazy route ) in this life. So I just ignored him. Like an annoying prick, he just attacks me without any warning. He says "I wasn't asking half-blood". I said "Alright fine let's have it your way " and started the fight
He uses his cherry blossom petals to block my vision and attacks me with a small tornado made out of petals. I didn't want to win the fight so I took the attack head-on and acted like I was hurt, Miss Theresa came running after sensing someone using magic and came running to see what is happening to find me hurt. She scolds Kirsch and tells him to attend the training for 2 days.
Nobles have tremendous amounts of mana due to the fact they do not train they think training is for commoners and those who are weak. There are two ways to get stronger in this world the first is to be naturally gifted with large amounts of mana from birth the second is when people train themselves to make themselves stronger. It is impossible to increase the amount of mana one has but it is possible to unlock new spells by training. Kirsch considers training as something that only weak and pathetic people do and hates training so for him it is a suitable punishment.
Miss Theresa asked me "Is the injury severe" I replied "No," She asked me if she should call a healer I just said "No I am fine." I asked Miss Theresa if I can study and train on my own when she asked me why I just replied " I like figuring out new things on my own. When I do it myself I get the satisfaction of doing it" and I don't have to worry about revealing my magic to others I thought to myself. She replied "Fine but if you have any doubts feel free to ask me about it " I nodded my head and went to study.
I wanted to create new spells other than attack spells. I had a choice between trying to use healing spells or creation spells I didn't have any idea what to create when my only magic is flame magic but I had an idea after watching Kirsch use a petal tornado so I wanted to try a flame tornado but I can't do it indoors and can't risk getting caught using magic outdoors.
Maybe I should try to create a petal using flame it won't be pink and beautiful and all but it's a petal made out of flame what can you expect so I tried to imagine creating a petal but I create a petal, not some fake one made out of flame I created a petal that looked exactly like Kirsch's cherry blossom petal. I saw that petal in shock and I heard a voice behind me say "How can you use my big brother's magic "
