Chapter 56: Chapter 56 - Climax!
...
Suddenly Reaper's body exploded in a black smog that quickly filled the entire room. It seemed as if the abyss had been unleashed and was swallowing everything in its path.
Shadow quickly became engulfed in the Smog, interrupting what she was doing with her Quirk moments ago. "What the fuck-"
Suddenly a large hand clamped over her mouth and nose forcefully cutting off her breath. Shadow panicked as she tried to break free until a growling voice spoke in her right ear.
"Don't breathe" Reaper growled squeezing Shadow's mouth even tighter and pulling her away from thick smog. "It's a high density hallucinogenic gas that causes great pain to the user, and no, it's not poisonous but very painful."
Shadow stopped struggling as she let Reaper drag her out of the gas to a T-intersection. She saw first hand the unpleasant appearance of the black gas that surrounded the room, she didn't know much about chemistry but she knew that a gas shouldn't look so thickly black.
"It's one of Moira's inventions, I carry it in case I need to escape a troublesome situation...like this one" Reaper explained as he removed his hand from Shadow's nose and mouth.
"I swear every time Moira scares me more and more..." Shadow muttered letting out a deep tired sigh.
Reaper simply reached into his tunic -which clearly had seen better days- and pulled out a gas mask for Shadow, the latter simply took the mask carefully and put it on without much trouble.
Both Talon agents simply watched the gas in silence as they waited for it to disperse enough to see something.
"...Why didn't you kill them?" Asked Shadow breaking the silence, her voice tinged with disdain. "I've seen you in I-Island taking out those guards without mercy, you almost looked like you really were death itself! Then why-"
"Moira's orders" Reaper replied interrupting Shadow's tantrum. "Apparently that girl... Lena Oxton, is more valuable than you could ever imagine and Moira needs Oxton's blood for her experiments."
"That doesn't tell me much..." Shadow muttered. "But seeing... this... I'm glad I'm not the one to get Moira's attention."
They both fell silent again before Reaper spoke again. "His other partner has a Quirk similar to mine which makes him very hard to damage...I tried to kill him by playing on his Hero morale but Oxton stopped the attack before it hit"
"A spoonful of your own medicine huh?" Shadow snorted with a grin before looking at Reaper curiously. "And by all this... where exactly are we? I know this isn't a hospital or there would be dozens of Heroes around here by now."
"Long story-"
Suddenly a large burst of green fire shot straight at Shadow from the hallway to her left. Acting quickly Reaper wrapped his body around Shadow receiving the attack directly burning his entire tunic and severely burning his back.
Reaper gritted his teeth hard as he let out a grunt of pain.
"Reaper!!!"
"The cavalry is in tha house baby!" Burnin exclaimed as she watched his attack hit Reaper full on before shouting instructions. "Impulse! Aegis! Go to the front and try to immobilize Reaper! Tat! Absorb that strange gas! I don't want anyone to die today, got it?!"
"Yes Ma'am!" Exclaimed the 3 Heroes as they quickly went on the attack.
Burnin stopped attacking Reaper causing the latter to collapse on Shadow having small spasms brought on by pain.
"Shadow... get us out of here!" Snarled Reaper angrily as he barely managed to stand on his legs. "Now!"
Shadow watched out of the corner of her eye as two shadows quickly approached her position from both flanks. "Shit! All right! But I need a few seconds!"
Both Heroes were dressed in what appeared to be a green and blue Power Ranger suit with white decorations. Green was tall and clearly muscular while Blue had a lanky and lean body, he also carried a staff on his back.
Reaper nodded as he transformed his hands into mist for a moment before returning them to normal, this time holding a shotgun in his right hand.
"WELL LITTLE BASTARDS LET'S DANCE!" Reaper roared as he took aim at the two Heroes, the clothes on top were shredded exposing his muscular body covered in large scars and cuts.
Reaper partially turned into Mist as he quickly advanced towards the two Heroes firing bullets from afar. The Green Hero raised his hand in front of him forming what appeared to be a blue barrier while the Blue Hero simply snapped his fingers and the bullets lost all their power and fell harmlessly to the ground.
As Reaper confronted the duo of Heroes, Shadow ran off in the opposite direction as she summoned his screen and began entering large lines of code rapidly.
The Hero in Green, Aegis, arrived right in front of Reaper and quickly threw a kick to his shoulder, but Reaper turned into mist nullifying the blow and appearing right next to Hero giving him a strong hook to the jaw that knocked him backwards.
Aegis quickly recovered from the blow and turned his attention to Reaper who was aiming his shotgun at him. Instinctively he summoned his barrier, barely protecting himself from the attack.
"I won't let you off that easy!" Exclaimed Aegis as he took a big step forward and reached for Reaper.
Reaper, contrary to Aegis' belief, approached the Hero putting aside his shotgun and they engaged in intense hand-to-hand combat.

<Meanwhile...>
Meanwhile, Tat a Hero dressed as a hawk, arrived at Smog's area successfully sneaking out of the fight and arriving right next to smog.
"My God..." Tat muttered in disgust as he looked at the thick black smog, thanks to Kojo's Mental Passage he could sense that Tracer and Lemillion were inside this thing. "I'm going to get them out of there!"
Taking a deep breath he began to blow hard causing a large wind to come out of his mouth slowly dissipating the smog.
'It's really thick... what the fuck is this gas?!'

<Back to Reaper's fight...>
As much as Aegis would like to deny, he was quite inferior to Reaper in terms of combat technique. The mercenary didn't waste a single move and the slightest opportunity was an assured hit to his body.
However, he relied on his Quirk to protect him from his carelessness.
But for the slightest mistake the fight had already been decided.
In the middle of a punch Aegis overextended his arm. Without wasting time, Reaper grabbed the wrist of his arm firmly.
Realizing his mistake Aegis throws a punch towards the left side of Reaper's head in an attempt to hit him and free himself.
But Reaper was foolish.
Stopping the punch with his forearm and holding the wrist of the other arm, Reaper quickly responded with a knee to the stomach knocking the air out of Aegis.
As he was about to punch him in the back of the skull, a green fire forced him back in his mist form.
"That's not a fair move you edgy idiot!" Burnin exclaimed from a distance.
Reaper re-formed and was about to advance towards Burnin when he was forced to duck to dodge a staff strike to his face. Growling in anger Reaper aimed his shotgun at the Blue Hero and fired.
But the Hero again quickly snapped his fingers quickly nullifying the bullets. He turned his gaze back to Reaper with an unseen smile....
Only to realize that Reaper was no longer in sight.
Suddenly a blow to the skull knocked him to the ground knocking him unconscious, he heard a scream but could not make out anything as his vision rapidly blurred.
Reaper glared at him.
BAM!
"One down..."

<Meanwhile on the surface...>
Lot and Mirko were in an arduous battle to the death. Well to the death for Mirko.
Lot was one of the most annoying enemies he had ever had the pleasure of fighting. Not only was she stupidly tough, but the slightest carelessness could kill her in the blink of an eye.
Mirko didn't know when the warehouse was completely gone or when the surrounding area was filled with collapsed buildings. He didn't care either.
What she did know was that she was reaching the climax of the fight which made her smile between breaths.
"Oh? Miss tired of playing?" Lot asked with a redundant grin, despite how calm the Villain was his body was seriously bleeding and the bruises on his body gave away how badly he had been beaten over and over again. "Um, looks like this is the end of the duel..."
"It's a shame, I was having fun... "Mirko took a low stance as he put all his energy into his powerful legs. "But he's right, this must end."
"Sounds like a good decision to me..." Lot muttered as he formed a triangle with his hands pointing directly at Mirko.
And in an instant, they both attacked.
"LUNAE POINT!"
"UNTERRATE!"
