Chapter 3: Azra’s Fall

If it had been any other day or a different choice of words that came from the young lady then Azra would have been able to tolerate it but she had already been worn down enough and the words she heard had been what had made her act out of character.

She cherished her mothers words like gold and the mother and daughter would happily get through whatever difficulties they would face together.

They had managed to get by with what little they had until her mother had lost her job and was being rejected at every turn by employers.

Her mother was struggling and Azra knew that better than anyone so she was feeling very conflicted and was blaming herself at times about their situation.

She had held back her hatred towards the young lady many times but she could not stand still once her mother was being laughed at and insulted in front of her face.

It was not a powerful push but it was enough to allow the young lady to be placed in a coma after she hit her head.

The family of the young lady were well connected and wanted to seek revenge on her so they exploited several loopholes in the law while buying off her lawyer.

Azra was too young to enter a prison so she would have to be put in a youth detention centre but the family did not find that an acceptable result.

Everything was manipulated so that Azra was declared insane without her or her mother being able to do anything.

Once she was placed inside of the mental asylum, her life became hell and it was enough to drive a person crazy.

Azra was kept sedated and was kept under watch to prevent any suicide attempts so she could not find a way to escape or end her own suffering even if she wanted to do so.

There were times when the guards or doctors had beat her up or used a scalpel to cut at her body enough to inflict pain upon her and let her suffer.

Once an old wound had healed, there would be a new wound in its place and a lot of her skin underneath her clothes was covered in scars.

Those that tortured her day after day seemed to be very used to doing enough to cause harm and to make people suffer without letting those they hurt die.

Most of the wounds were usually kept hidden underneath the clothing so they were more difficult for others to notice if they came to visit Azra or others.

There was only a light scar under an eye of Azra that had been the result of her struggling when the doctor had the scalpel placed on her face while he was trying to make her more fearful of him.

It did not matter if his intent was to leave the cut on her face but it remained and became clearer evidence of his abuse towards her along with all the others.

A single light cut on the face could have been explained away using many different excuses and there was nobody that cared enough to help her so it did not matter that much.

The visits of her mother rarely happened and her mother was always running into different restrictions along with dealing with her own problems.

The isolation from her mother and the mistreatment had let her despair many times over and she laughed at herself many times after going over how she reached her current state.

As much as she tried to understand the reasonings of the young lady, it all began with a denied request for her pen.

The more time that she spent thinking back to the moment that she shoved the young lady, she had started questioning herself just like the doctors had.

It was difficult to believe in the thoughts and feelings that she had during that time when her mind was not in the best state and she was always kept sedated whenever she resisted or caused a fuss.

She would question if she had been trembling at that time due to the remorse and regret she felt after shoving the young lady or if it was another feeling entirely but she could not reach a conclusion.

Time passed and her state had become worse but there was another event that had given her more heartbreak.

Reports of the outside world were gradually being spread to her through the doctor who had been ordered to do so.

The family had welcomed back their daughter who had woke up from her coma but the revenge still did not stop.

Her mother was without a job for a long time and was without support so she was struggling to survive in the world on her own.

Her relatives did not help her and the doctor told Azra why that was the case, they had been paid off to ignore any cries for help from Azra's mother.

News arrived when her mother had passed away which had left her feeling more helpless within the dark space with walls all around her that she had to endure each day.

She was left alone to dwell on her thoughts and her own guilt that she had towards her mother until her suffering would begin again.

Once she had spent an unknown time in a dark padded room after waking up, Azra was dragged into a room that was different from the ones that she was familiar with. "Wha? What is that?"

Her eyes widened in fear as she tried to struggle out of the grip of the guards but she was pushed down into a chair while her straitjacket was loosened to place her hands within the straps on the chair that had tightened around her wrist. "Stop.. stop! You cannot do this!"

The doctor ignored her pleas and watched as her blonde hair was shaved off then cleaned up.

A strange circular shaped metal crown was lowered onto her head which were connected by wires to an electronic device with levels and dials on it.

The doctor put his hand on the lever after adjusting the dials and then spoke. "Everyone clear."

Once he pulled down the lever, the screams of Azra followed along with the noises of her struggles.

"Haa."

"Gyaa."

"Aaaah!"

Flashes of tiny amounts of electricity seemed to be released from the device on her head and would travel towards the closet target that was her head.

The more radical treatment method was a form of electro shock therapy but it was being used to torture her more than help her.

The sparks of electricity had been targeted to certain areas of her brain which had caused her a great deal of pain and made her feel very strange at the same time.

Azra was unable to endure for long and had passed out.

Her cries and screams became quiet as she seemed to be spasming on the chair silently and it looked like her eyes had rolled backwards.

Seeing that she could no longer endure, the doctor had pushed the lever up which allowed the bodyguards to drag her back to her room after he had checked over her condition. "Keep a watch over her for now. This is just the beginning."

He looked towards the seat that had a puddle of sweat and other bodily fluids dripping down it then said. "Have someone clean this up and when she wakes up, hose her down."
