Chapter 42: Unease

The child was saved and was brought into the embrace of their parents who held onto them tightly as if they did not want to ever let go again.

Ash stood back as if she did not exist to those that were too focussed on the child who was covered in mud, tears and snot from his recent accident.

The sight of the close family being reunited after a scare had been something her eyes were drawn to.

Ash looked on from further away and her hands clenched on her clothes as if she was not in a good state.

Familiar memories returned from her past, happy memories that now made bad feelings come up.

It was like she had been trying to suppress her sorrow and longing but it had been stirred up by the sight in front of her.

Ash never got to know her father so her mother was the only one to raise her taking on the role of mother and father.

Her mother was the sole person to give her love, comfort and support her during her growth.
