Chapter 1, Declaration of war.
The people of Japan gathered were all waiting for the Shogun to arrive. The atmosphere was tense. People were whispering and gossiping about what the Shogun would say, and it had to be important. He was a stern man who expected nothing but victory and power…
Drums started playing and everyone went silent.
"The Shogun, the master, has come bow down" said his messenger. And so everyone bowed their heads in respect.
"Welcome. You all may be wondering why I have called you here. China has declared war on us. For this reason I shall need at least one man from every family to fight. If they have others they must also fight."
Everyone was shocked. Just 5 years ago they were at war and they casualties were badand extremely devastating. Just a few months ago everything was back to normal. But to have another war, it was absurd.
"Those you can't fight in the war must contribute in some way. My soldiers, you must fight with pride. You must kill without hesitation, fight when instructed and kill whoever tries to defy me. We will begin the war in 3 days, prepare yourselves and you mustn't fear anything. That is all."
Now the shogun had told us about the war we couldn't defy wether we like it or not. Some were excited, others were frightened and frustrated. Yet now they couldn't do anything to stop the rulers wishes. All they could do now was follow their destiny…
Chapter 2, the ambitious child.
Among the crowd was a young yet ambitious child. His name was Muichiro Shinkai, the son of Miyamoto Shinkai, a respected monk. He was just 15 yet he was full of excitement and couldn't wait for the war to start. He went up to his father smiling.
He told him "Father I'm a man powerful enough to fight, and for this reason I will go to war." He declared this to his father.
"So you want to be a warrior, but why. Why do you want to kill others, why do you wish to harm those people with families, dreams, ambitions.Even after all that will you be happy, proud full of pride, or just become and barbaric soldier like those around you," said his father.
"Father why are you always like this, why won't you just let me fight, all I ever wanted was to be a warrior, I don't want to end up like a monk," replied muichiro annoyed.
"You must not go to war, that is my final decision. And monks don't have to go to war nor does anyone in their family. Think of this as a blessing. A young inexperienced child like you wouldn't survive even a single minute out there"His father said.
Muichiro wanted to go to war yet his father kept on refusing. What did his father mean by I wouldn't survive a single minute, I'm the 15 year old in the village. He stormed out showing his frustration…
