Chapter 26: Ability fusion
Spirit coin was the currency that was most prevalent in the world.
Grim needed 50 spirit coins to take an entrance test. He started working as a porter. He would also do chores.
He was able to make 5 spirit coins a day by doing all sorts of work. But, he had to spend 1 spirits coin daily on food and shelter.
"I have to at least work 2 weeks to save enough money for the entrance test." It was nighttime so he decided to check the new functions of the system.

"My god! All of these abilities are so broken. But, their cost is broken too." He didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
"I can't even go hunting since I don't know anything about this place, and I don't even have cultivation right now."
He wanted to cultivate. However, he was too busy with work.

"System what can fusion do?"
"Fusion can fuse two abilities that have an affinity to each other and combines their effects. It will cost Evo for fusion."

"It is possible. However, the effects of 'iron scale' won't be as powerful as 'compact'."

"The abilities are being fused. Since one of the abilities is growth type, 10000 Evo will be deducted."
"New ability 'thew' has been acquired. It allows you to multiply strength by 30 times and hardens your body by 10% of the strength multiplied."
"System, are there any more abilities I can fuse?"
"No"
"Well, time to sleep then. I have done what I can." He dozed off.
The next day he woke up and went to work. He would do chores in the morning and work as a porter rest of the time.
He continued the work for 25 days. He would check for new abilities every week. However, their cost gave him heart attacks every time.
After 25 days of hard work, he was able to save 100 spirit coins. Now, he had double the amount he required to take an entrance test.
"I should break into the mutation realm before." He decided to cultivate to increase his chances of being selected.
"Reap"
Grim started gathering Qi inside his body. He was done gathering enough Qi after a month.
"Now, it's time to cleanse the body." He could never forget this step because of how much pain he was gone through the last time.
Grim started cleansing the body with the help of Qi. His body started transforming and he was starting to feel the pain. He gritted his teeth and endured the pain.
His willpower had gone through improvements because of all his past experiences. So, he was able to endure it without fainting like last time.
The process was finally done after hours. He was sweating profusely and his body was pale. However, it changed back to normal in minutes.
His entire body and face were gleaming. He was full of energy.
Next, he concentrated Qi to form a crystal. A small crystal started forming. However, it was different from normal crystals.
"It's the same as my first crystal. So, the power hadn't vanished even after my death." The crystal looked exactly like his first crystal.
"I should imprint the 'water' element now that I lack damage."
He imprinted the 'water' element. However, its color remained the same, black with white dots like a night sky.
His affinity with water had increased.
"Now that I'm at level 1 of the mutation realm. I should go take the entrance test tomorrow."
He decided to take a good night's rest.
