Chapter 23: Safe now!

"How is she?" Jetaime asked concerned. It had been hours and Lyn was still unconscious. He found himself more worried than he will like to be. Interestingly he wasn't the only one worried so it was fine. He could hide behind the pretext everyone is worried about the Queen.

"Luckily the Queen didn't sustain any injury, she is supposed to be awake by now, and she might have been in shock. We still need to wait your highness," the physician replied.

King Jetaime couldn't fathom what could have happened. The mere fact of not knowing how she got lost in the old King's chamber was torturing. The chamber was sealed when he had asked Byron to check the seal wasn't broken.

He was sure the culprit didn't use the old Queen's secret door. How then did she get there? Jetaime pace around the room anxiously.

The incident brought back memories and some hints he had in the past but couldn't prove it. He needs to know what happened only then could he understand.

"You're are possibly not thinking what I'm thinking right?" Byron leans over and whispers into the king's ears and steps back to give him a glare undoubtedly they were thinking about the same incidents years ago.

"Come with me," King Jetaime ordered turning to look at Byron then fix his gaze back on the Physician and Madam Yina "Stay with her. Report to me immediately if she opens her eyes," the king commended.

"Yes your Highness," Madam Yina replies sitting next to unconscious Lyn on the bed, she takes a strand of hair off her face and stares at her lovely.

Jetaime throws a careful look at her one last time before walking out of her chamber with Byron tagging behind him.

"Could the culprit be the same person from years ago? Back then you suspected Minister Young..." Byron hissed while they walk back to his office. Jetaime throws a glance at him and said nothing.

"Or Consort Suva? She is the only one with the intention of hurting the Queen," Byron hushed as soon as he entered and shut the door behind him.

Jetaime was in deep thought. "Or someone else is involved, we can only find out once the Queen is awake," Jetaime runs his hand through his hair walking around anxiously.

"Should we take her to Malavon? They have advanced technology and improved medicine then here maybe they can cure her," Jetaime suggested holding Byron's shoulders firmly. He couldn't hide his concern for the Queen any longer, his heart was not at peace even when he tried not to care.

"We have the best physician here too that are capable but let's wait and see alright." Byron consoles placing his hand back on his shoulders. "And if she doesn't wake up? What then?" Jetaime had completely lost it. He had lost his stronghold, his died heart beats again.

"Two more hours then we can take another measure, you need to remain calm," Byron said mumbling. Jetaime walks away from him in distress.

"Two hours?" It sounded like forever to him a lot could happen within those two hours.

"I will send everyone out so you can stay by her side that way you can calm down," Byron suggested.

"You do that. And don't forget to keep an eye on the prime minister this might be some kind of distraction," Jetaime informed more calmly now. "Yes, my lord," Byron replied walking out.

Consort Suva and her sons celebrate her comeback, of getting rid of the thorn on her way. "Cheers!!! You finally got rid of the Queen," Prince Danyon smirks raising his cup for a toast.

"Ah, wait do you think her body is already turned into ashes? Too bad she was such a beauty, I didn't get to taste her," Prince Dewey sneered regrettably. As both his mother and brother stare at him not surprised. All she thinks of are women

"Why don't we go and enjoy the show? I think my darling son is devastated after losing the queen," consort Suva sneers putting down her wine cup. She turns to his two sons with a sad face almost about to cry.

"Mother, you are really good. I was even deceived by you for a moment that you are sad about the queen's passing," Prince Dewey smirks raising another toast to his mother's excellent acting skills. She smiles and walks out of her quarters elegantly, Prince Dewey and Prince Danyon smirk watching her from behind.

"She is still the same my King," Madam Yina informed when she saw that the king and Byron had entered the queen's room again. "Leave us!" Byron orders the rest of the maids and physicians to leave the room.

King Jetaime sat beside Lyn and caresses her face gently, Byron excuses himself and leaves the room, and Madam Yina is still in shock. She wished she never left the queen's side.

"She will be fine and you don't have to keep standing there," Jetaime told Madam Yina yet that couldn't calm her. "I hope so your highness," she whispered still standing at the same spot. Lyn's eyebrow moves, Madam Yina saw it and alerted the King.

"Thank goodness, the queen is coming around," Madam Yina hissed with excitement, "Lyn. Lyn. Can you hear me?" Jetaime whispered calling out to her.

"Ouch!" she groans in pain all of a sudden. "Tell me, where does it hurt? Where? should I call the physician?" Jetaime asked anxiously. Lyn was trying to say something but he could hear her. "What are you saying? Jetaime asked again, leaning close to her this time around. Very close enough for him to hear her heartbeat.

"You are sitting on my hair. My head is about to fall," Lyn whispered into his ears. "Sorry," Jetaime hissed springing from the bed almost immediately and clearing his throat. "My queen, you really gave us a fright," Madam Yina mumbled with a relieved sigh.

"I'm sorry," Lyn whispered, she was glad someone actually cares whether she lives or dies, she couldn't say the same for Jetaime.

"That's fine, I'm glad you are fine now. I will go get you something to drink okay," Madam Yina smiles excitedly as she leaves to prepare something for Lyn.

She loves the sound of it. "Thank you, you are the best," Lyn whispered, Madam Yina was too excited she was sure she didn't hear her but Jetaime did and he rolled his eye.

"You were on the brink of death and you are already thinking of food?" Jetaime was surprise. He places his hand behind his back and stares at her, he couldn't help but remember how nervous he was when he found her. She was traumatized.

"Since I didn't die, I shouldn't verge my anger on food right?" Lyn smiles sitting upright. Jetaime still couldn't believe it.

"Tell me what happened. How did you get there? And what did they do to you?" Jetaime was concerned, Lyn's face suddenly drops, and she signal Jetaime to draw closer.

"Who was it, I just need a name," Jetaime mumbled,
