Chapter 2: Chapter 2

"I think we're alright now." Akivalea stated.

Akivalea and Rayden were out of breath, the stench of sweat and dirt stuck to them both.

"Can't believe he just exposed us like that" bursted out Rayden.

"I know right, well he never liked us anyways." She replied.

"What do we do now? We literally have nowhere to go."

Akivalea laughed awkwardly.

The duo has already run deep into the forest where the worst of monster's roam.

With the pitch-black surroundings, they continued to run aimlessly into the forest. The sound of the wind whistling from the back, as if urging the siblings to run faster… Sounds of rustling created amongst the foliage from the beasts in hiding.

Taking a breather, Akivalea & Rayden sat against a large oak tree close to each other.

"Why the hell did you do that anyways?" Rayden spouted.

"What do you mean?" Questioned Akivalea.

"What?" He replied.

"You can't be serious."

"Ludacris and I could have helped you." Yelled Rayden.

"And if they caught us both? Then what?" Noted Akivalea

"Look if they were to take one of us, it would be better if they got me."

"What?" Rayden asked in disbelief.

"You've had your Celestial for like 2 years. I've only had Ivy for about 5 months. So, if they were to take you, you know what would happen." Akivalea informed.

"I know what you're saying, but it just doesn't sit right with me." Rayden replied.

After a long silence the two fell asleep and rested against the tree upon the cover of darkness.

~Morning time~

The makeshift campfire fought the wind as it burned away at the wood. The sunlight barely touched most parts within the forest because of the canopy formed from the huge 100 metres tall trees and thick leaves the size of a large bed.

"Yuck" Rayden is currently shoving his hand inside the body of a 'Yale' carcass. The Yale is a four-legged beast with boar-like tusks, large horns resembling a mix of a goat antelope and the body of a yak. This creature isn't typically considered a dangerous type. The guts of the Yale spilled out as he began to skin and dissect the beast.

The dim light from the sun revealed his short, textured light brown hair, tanned skin, hunter eyebrows with green eyes, and a sharp jawline. Dangling from his left ear is a feather and two short white and gold ribbons. Underneath the blood on his right shoulder revealed a tattoo that reached behind his ear. Putting some meat over his shoulder before placing it on the fire, his height is revealed to be about 6 '3" with a lean and built body. While the meat is cooking over the fire, Rayden and Ludacris (<— his celestial) wait patiently.

"They've been gone for a while." Rayden mentioned in annoyance.

"Ivy is probably eating more than he can chew." Ludacris replied.

Ludacris has pure white hair with two short plaits on the side of his head. A white cloth with Ancient gold writing across it wrapped around his eyes. White skin, white cloak-dress clothing with roman sandals and beautiful white wings.

Moments later, Akivalea emerges from the shadows with Ivy. Now that she has stepped into the light, we see that she is 5 '3 " with caramel toned skin, long wavy black hair, Brown doe-like eyes that have a slight mixture of red. Small neck, defined cheekbones mid-wide shoulders. She's wearing a long black sleeved round-neck mid-calf dress under a brown corset dress. She looked at the meat cooking above the fire and frowned.

"I told you to wait till I get back." Proclaimed Akivalea.

"You were taking too long, and I got hungry, anyways where's the river?" Asked Rayden.

"It was a pond we found, it was decently clean, so I washed up there. I'll have Ivy show you, we cleared the pond a little so you should be fine." Akivalea replied.

"There might still be Athuizoti around. Their blood did not taste very nice either." Said Ivy.

"Can't you just be normal and eat regular food." Ludacris exclaimed.

"What!? I'm a devil idiot, do you think I'd eat things like you?" Ivy declared.

"Clearly not, it's rather revolting that I have to be around such a vulgar beast." Pointed out Ludacris.

While the two Celestials bickered more at each other, Akivalea went to prepare the food so it would be tasty.

"Ivy, go show Rayden the way to the lake so he can wash up please." Said Akivalea.

After bathing in the pond, Rayden returned to Akivalea and the celestials. They ate their fill then, collected important materials around the forest and from the beast they'd slain along the way.

"Hey, do you think they'll try to kill us, the people on the other side of the forest?" Asked Akivalea.

"I wouldn't be shocked considering our kingdom isn't on good terms with them. The villagers want to leave but the border is guarded, and the new king doesn't want anyone to leave." Rayden answered.

"Yeah, and the forest areas are the only places not heavily guarded. Because our area is close to one of the most dangerous forests it's a big enough threat that not just anyone would go through this way." Akivalea issued.

"So, the villagers of Evana can't leave, and if they did, they probably wouldn't survive." Rayden noted.

"...Do you think we should have tried to save some of them?" Questioned Akivalea.

"They would just drag us down, plus we both don't know how to use our abilities that well. They'd especially be a burden on you, you're not even used to your abilities yet." Replied Rayden.

Akivalea stopped walking and stared at the floor.

"I know, but do you think we did the right thing?" Cried Akivalea.

Tears fell down Akivalea's cheeks dripping to the ground.

"We're not superheroes, we can't save everyone." Rayden informed.

"You're right, but I'll protect you, even if that means giving up my life."Akivalea declared.

"You won't be dying." Rayden responded.

"He's right! If you're gone, I'll be put back to sleep for another thousand years. It's no fun, you know." Ivy mentioned.

"I don't know, I'd rather sleep for that long instead of being around a devil." Ludacris said bluntly.

"No one asked you!" yelled Ivy.

"That's enough. Let's just get going." Uttered Akivalea.

They continued forward, slaughtering many beasts along the way.

"Where are they all coming from?" Akivalea questioned.

"I don't know this doesn't usually happen, unless they're relocating their nest or during the change of season." Rayden answered.

"They seemed to be scared of something. But there shouldn't be any high-level monsters this way. We should be going the right way, based on the monsters gathered around these parts of the area, right?" Akivalea commented.

"Yes, unless someone or something lured a higher-level beast this way…" Said Rayden

"AAAAA!" Screamed an unknown voice.

"People?" asked Akivalea.

"We should go the other way." Rayden blurted.

"Shouldn't we see if they need help?" Akivalea asked in concern.

"No one with no experience, or good enough skill would be this deep in a forest like this. They could be looking for us." Said Rayden.

"But, what if they're from the other side of the forest? I think we should go have a look to make sure, if we help them, maybe they'll do the same for us." Akivalea proposed.

"Roger!" Yelled a man.

"Uhhh, shit. Becky quickly heal Benji! Simon, how much magic do you have left?" Roger asked quickly.

"Not a lot. I won't be able to hold that beast down." Simon mentioned in great concern.

'Cough' Benji's head laid on Becky's legs. Becky desperately tries to tend to his wounds. He has a large bleeding wound to the chest, if not tended to much longer he could potentially lose his life. "Roger, that beast is too strong for us." Benji testified in pain.

There was a man that had been knocked aside, towards a small campsite that had been built nearby. He wore heavy armour and was harshly wounded. Struggling to stand, he used his huge great-sword to pull his large body covered in armour up off the ground.

Breathing harshly with blood flowing down his face from a wound on his head, the bearded man faced the 'Behemoth'. The behemoth is a massive beast half the size of the tall trees, a hybrid of a t-rex and crocodile, with large black horns, tough spikes and skin no ordinary weapon could stab through. The behemoth also had long thick legs with tough wide feet, and sharp nails that could snap the trees with enough force.

"Sam! Wai-" Roger was cut off before finishing his words, his eyes widened.

Sam raised his sword, before turning towards the beast he gave Roger a smile, then resumed his charge towards the behemoth.

"Rock impact damage!" Sam chanted loudly.

Leaping towards the beast whilst aiming his sword to its heart in a final act of desperation, but mid-flight the behemoth raised its hand and caught the flying Sam.

"ARGHH!!!"

Squeezing its hand and slowly piercing through Sam's body, the behemoth slowly tortured him with its nails. Coughing and drooling blood, Sam slowly released his sword. With a large thump it signified its landing upon the ground, whilst its owner dangles in the palm of the beast. Seconds later, the behemoth throws Sam harshly to the ground a safe distance away. Covered in hard dirt and profusely bleeding from nail wounds across his chest, he lay down, unmoving.

"SAM!" Screamed Roger in shock.

"Bengi, use your-" Simon uttered while looking at Bengi's frail condition.

"Roger, we have to go!" Cried Becky as she held the passed-out Bengi tightly within her frail arms.

"We'll die if we stay any longer Roger. If we had more magic we could rescue Sam, but at this rate we will lose Benji and Sam. He brought us the time to run away, don't make his death be for nothing." Simon said forwardly.

"I'm not leaving Sam! I can't leave him to die. I can't do it." Roger bursted out in anger.

"Roger, I know how you feel but it's a fight we can't win. I grew up with him for fuck sakes." Simon spilled out in tearfulness.

"Guys we don't have time for this." Becky muttered.

"Shut the fuck up Becky."

Becky flinched at Roger's sudden words.

"You guys just go quickly. I am not leaving Sam." Roger blurted out.

"I don't know if we came at a good time or not." Rayden said aloud as he and Ludacris stood before them awkwardly.

The three hunters looked confused as they analysed Rayden from their current positions.

"Who the fuck are yo-"

"ROARRR." Rogers' attention was so caught off guard by the deafening roar of the Behemoth that he didn't finish his sentence.
