Chapter 73: Chapter 73 Her Broken Mate
Sarah groaned and banged her head against the desk. The files around her rippled and one of them fluttered to the floor. This is why she can not do office jobs, it's so boring.
After the picnic date, Seth and she were overwhelmed with a bunch of paperwork to do. This kept them busy for about three weeks and it was hard for Seth and her to see each other as they were busy with their duties.
Being cooped up in her office, she felt depressed and a little lonely not being able to see her partner for so long.
Sighing, she strengthened her resolve.
A few days ago, Seth had tried to see her, but Thunder flooded her mind with perverted ideas of what to do with him. The list went on and on, including handcuffing him or tying him up so they could ride him. Unfortunately, she lost control and had to refuse to see Seth as her wolf was about to take control. She did not want to force herself on him because they were both not ready. Her face quickly turned red as she imagined this.
She quickly waved her hand in the air, trying to push the thoughts away.
It had been a few days, but she felt it was the right thing to do this time. Nervousness spread through her chest as she fidgeted with her fingers.
God, only he could make her be like this.
'Imagine what else he can make us do or feel.' Thunder purred and her eyes clouded with mischievousness.
'Yeah, shut up and let us go see our buddy.' Sarah quickly replied, silencing her so she did not even have a chance to take control like last time.
Thunder snorted, but nodded.
She got up from her chair, quickly opened the door and left her office. She started walking, but soon she was going faster and faster until she was finally running.
His office and her office were on opposite sides of the pack house, as they both equally guarded parts of the house. He guarded one side and she guarded the other.
Soon she was standing outside the door of his office. A lump formed in her throat, and fear made itself known as she found it hard to swallow. It had only been three weeks since she had seen him.
Why was she so nervous?
'Because it's been so damn long.
We have not touched him, nor have we even seen his face in that time. Not to mention we have not even mated with him yet. Of course, our bond makes us anxious and we want him more! Open the door already, damn it!' said Thunder, annoyed and impatient.
The bond began to hum slightly and found that they were about even. The only thing stopping them was that damn door.
She took a deep breath, reached for the doorknob and opened it carefully. Her eyes searched the room when she found her companion leaning his head on the desk.
Warmth flooded her insides as she took in the sight of him. She carefully closed the door and went to him.
They were back at Seth's side, watching him sleep.
Is not that creepy for them?
'No, it does not... But oh my God, can we please fuck him already?' Thunder whimpered and panted like a bitch in heat.
More like... a wolf in heat... she thought to herself, forgetting that Thunder and she have the same body.
'See, jokes like that are why we have not gotten a tail yet.' growled Thunder, rolling her eyes at her.
'Shut up,' Sarah retorted.
Seth shifted in his sleep, his hair curling in his face. The tape hummed louder now, and the temptation to be close to him grew.
A sudden whimper came from her companion as he shifted a little in his seat. Sweat formed on his forehead as he squinted his eyes.
Another nightmare...
Every time she sees him, he is tormented. Even in his dreams, he can not get a proper rest.
Anger swelled inside her. Stella had done so much more damage to him and he can not even sleep in peace.
"I hope she is satisfied with herself," Sarah muttered.
Another whimper came from her companion. Her instinct to take care of him only grew stronger as she slowly walked over to him to brush his hair out of his face. When suddenly he opened his eyes.
Within seconds, her hand, which was only inches from his face, was in the air and clutched tightly by larger hands.
"S-Seth!" she let out a surprised cry.
When Seth realized who she was, he quickly let go of her. His face was surprised, even shocked. He took a step back so that his chair rolled away from him. He tilted his head and looked at her, eyeing both her and his surroundings. After looking around the room, his eyes lingered on her again.
She massaged her hand, now aching from the force of his grip, and raised an eyebrow, frowning.
"That hurt... you know? You could apologize."
'Fool, he can not,' Thunder replied, scowling at her.
Seth blinked at her slowly as he quickly pulled out his notepad and wrote, 'You startled me. I did not expect anyone to be in my office. I am sorry I hurt you.'
She sighed and shrugged her shoulders. "It's all right, it was my fault. I am sorry I stared at your pretty face so creepily while you slept. I just... have not seen you in a long time." she paused, sheepishly. "I have missed you."
Seth's face quickly turned red and he wanted to touch her face, but he pulled his hand back. He flinched when she grabbed his hand to stop him from moving further away.
"Can I hug you?" she asked, respecting his boundaries.
He stared at her open-mouthed before hesitantly nodding his head. Laughing, she slowly wrapped her arms around him. He stiffened, but soon relaxed as he hugged her in return.
They spent the time talking and exchanging pleasantries.
Well, it was more like she asked him questions and he read his notepad.
But she felt like they were getting closer than before and it was a step. And that meant everything to her.

*A few days later*
"Seth? Where are you?" she said, looking around the pack house.
Seth had written her a note to meet him near the pack living room, so she had wandered around looking for him.
Suddenly, he stumbled out of the main hallway with a large gift box in his hand. He stumbled in front of her and awkwardly handed her the gift.
She laughed at his cuteness and his cheeks turned a little pink.
He was embarrassed to fall down right in front of her.
She took the gift and opened it.
It contained some oversized hoodies and a couple of gift certificates to her favorite stores. One of them was for Victoria Secret and Bath and Body Works. She smiled at his thoughtfulness.
A few weeks ago, when they went on the picnic, he asked her what kinds of things she liked. She replied that she would like to wear his hoodies or maybe a gift certificate to Victoria Secret.
He listened to every word she said.
"Thank you, Seth. That's very nice."
His eyes lit up and his hand brushed the back of his head shyly.
She set the box down on the sofa and pulled out one of the hoodies he'd lent her. She could already smell his scent on it. Delighted, she took a whiff of it and smiled happily. Attached to the top of the bag was a note. On it it said. 'I am sorry about a few days ago. Thank you for being so patient with me. It means a lot to me. I'll keep working on getting better and helping both of us.'
She smiled, brought the note to her lips and kissed it.
"This means a lot to me. When was I lucky enough to have a companion like you? The moon goddess has truly blessed me." she said, grinning from ear to ear.
Seth, seeing this, quickly became more shy, but he smiled at her. Seeing his reaction, he indicated that he wanted her to try it on.
She did, sliding the oversized fabric over her small body.
Seth's face turned even redder when he saw she was wearing his hoodie. She quickly saw him cover his crotch before he nodded. Then he waved at her and scurried away. He excused himself as he had to fulfill his duties as Alpha.
She blinked at the door and noticed how quickly he had left.
Why was he covering his crotch?
'What do you think, human?' Thunder grinned and wagged her tail.
'I-...'
"Luna!" sarah heard a pack member call her.
She continued to meet and interact with the pack members, forgetting what she had seen.
There was a distance between Seth and her, and that was in allowing her to get close to him.
Sometimes he would touch her or hold her hand, but that was as far as it went. Sometimes he did it for a long time, then suddenly let go.
As if he was afraid.
She sighed, her feelings for him growing with each passing day.
It was the little things he did that caught her eye, like what he did for her and his pack members. He was too generous for his own good and very innocent.
As she thought about it, she began to doubt if they would ever be the average Alpha and Luna pair.
What if he never spoke again?
What if they never mate or mark each other?
Would that be the downfall of their bond?
'You need to calm down, human. What-if questions will only confuse you more and leave you with more doubts than before. Focus on the now, will you?' barked Thunder.
She nodded and rubbed her temples, 'I am sorry Thunder, I am just restless lately. I do not know what to do about Seth, but I know I have feelings for him.
Thunder showed her canines, 'You and me both.'
Sarah finally smiled, grateful to have her wolf by her side. She honestly did not know what she would do without her. She usually has her head on her shoulders, but she can not always be calm and reasonable. Even though they are werewolves, they are also very human.
In her thoughts, she did not notice Beatrice and Ludovic coming towards her.
When she turns around, she finds herself facing the two guards who helped her with Stella a few days ago.
"Oh, how are you guys? I have not seen you around lately."
Ludovic bows respectfully, "We have been training the last few days."
"Yes! We have been busy fucking too!" chirped Beatrice behind him, poking her head out.
Sarah fell down, her eyes widened.
'See, at least she got it. Where's my full schedule to do the dirty work?' Thunder huffed at her. Before Sarah could say anything back, she suddenly spoke softly, 'Go check on my friend. Now.'
She broke away from the pack members to look for Seth, 'What's wrong, Thunder?'
'This door. Open it.' Thunder only answered, not paying attention to her alarming question.
Sarah reached the top of the stairs and found herself facing a room. Her heart pounded because she did not know what Thunder sensed.
Voices, one she identified as female, and she seemed to be talking to someone. This person did not answer.
Sarah automatically opened the door, and her heart stopped for what felt like an eternity.
Seth held Kate tightly in a hug as she cried.
