Chapter 3: The Aftermath

Kura returned to the dark room and put back his weapons. Once he was checked to make sure he hadn't hidden anything he was handed a bottle with a weird liquid in it. Though Kura noticed what it was Afterall he had seen multiple warriors use it after their matches. What he had was a healing potion. It forced his mana to focus on his recovery instead of boosting his physique. While this made them weak it improved their healing process incredibly witch was useful as warriors only had a month to get ready for their next show.

Kura returning back had glairs from all angles, though this didn't surprise Kura because surviving a show was a incredible feet not to mention a fourteen year old doing this and keeping all his limbs. for a couple days Kura's life didn't change much though now nobody tried taking Kura's food like many did before. Kura also now would often watch the matches of warriors shows.

While most of them died some survived those who survived would be able to take one mana core, but all others were collected by the arena and given to the "Ashen" Legacy family. Kura learned a bit more from these matches learning that if warriors win so many matches they would soon be put against other warriors.

He had also learned from the man from the throne that a yearly event was approaching soon. though Kura had no idea what this entailed for him as he hadn't watched these yearly events, but it finally made sense why once a year a wave of desperation and hopelessness spread to everyone of the warriors that had to fight. Though what he did know was that he would be one that had to fight in this event and apparently it was supposed to be much more cruel than the past years as some sick amusement to the son of the man who sat on the throne who Kura suspected to be the owner of the colosseum because his son was going to go to a different world.

Kura continued watching fights and seeing people win and lose though he realized he only had two more weeks until he had to fight again and he wasn't much better off than in his first fight. Looking at the show that was happening now it a was 32 year old man fighting five golems that stood in at 10 feet, and with arms 1 feet wide. The man was using gauntlets, focusing on dodging the golem's attacks then countering by striking their joints.

Kura had seen this man for a while after all he had been the one to survive the longest among the regular warriors. His body was toned and his movements were precise and explosive cracking the the armor of the golems. Kura watched as the man dismantled each of the golems one by one then took a core and absorbed however this time due to it coming from a golem Kura could see what it was supposed to look like instead of being covered in blood. The man Held a spere that looked like it was made of glass with blue wisps inside.

The man didn't say or do anything but simply walking back to the door as it opened. Then as he walked back the man sitting on the throne shouted "The Semi Legacy's glory continues!". Kura was shocked to hear this as only forgotten Legacies had titles in the colosseum, however the simple warrior he saw had been given one.

Kura standing in shock had come to a single conclusion if he wanted make it past this year. He would need his help. Kura saw the man enter the area were all the warriors were held not saying a word but simply continuing to walk taking a seat in a corner closing his eyes.

Kura walked over, but the closes Kura got the more of a feeling of dread washed over him remembering the five golems that had been dismantled by him and the fact he had struggled against two wolfs. Though Kura pushed forward fortifying his resolve to survive this year.

Kura breathed in a breath of air preparing to talk, but before he started to utter a word a cold shiver ran down his spine as the man he was previously staring at was gone. The man was now beside Kura with his hand loosely wrapped around his neck. The man looked to his right and asked in a cold, dark tone. "What is it you want."

Kura froze a overwhelming sense of dread washed over him kicking his fight or flight. A sense of malice stronger than what the wolves he fought gave off washed over him. Kura was terrified looking the man in the eyes.

Saying in a tone weak enough that it was almost a whisper "I want your help to teach me how to fight so I can live my next show."

The man staired at him with a glair so strong and piercing to the point Kura started to forget to breathe, but then to break this silence the man started to chuckle then break into laughter. The man eyed Kura from top to bottom and said "fine I will train you for one week what you learn will be up to your skill and adaptability."

The man the stepped a couple steps back with a smile on his face, but then that smile disappeared being replace with one of seriousness. The man then stood in a stance as if preparing to fight. Kura thinking the man was trying to teach him what form to stand in crudely mimicked his stance, but then with out the man had lunged at Kura.

Kura had tried blocking out of instinct but then the man stepped to the side delivering a hard blow to Kura's side. Kura coughing up a mouthful of blood bent over, but without mercy the man hit Kura on the head forcing him to slam on the ground into the blood he had coughed up. Kura's vision being blurry wobbly stood up. getting into the position the man had been in but with a bit more form than when he had done it the last time though now swaying from side to side seeing this put a smile on the mans face but only for a second as he then lunged toward Kura.

The man was approaching Kura fast but then a glint of a dark red shined in Kura's eyes as his wobbliness stopped for a second. Then all Kura's muscles tensed and shot out a punch toward the man. The man surprised by this quickly dodged nearly missing him. The man then shot behind Kura quickly hitting him on the back of the neck forcing Kura to lose conscience.

The man stood there for a moment but then a smirk appeared on his face. Sitting down he wandered just what had he signed himself up for.
