Chapter 3: Chapter 2: New World and School District

Jaune Arc looked at the people beginning to whisper about him warily, the people around him were giving him a shocked, wary, and suspicious look. Not that he can blame them from these people's perspectives he just appeared out of nowhere. So it's normal to cause a big commotion even if he didn't want to.

This was something the comics didn't prepare him for, people who time travel into the past are supposed to end up in an isolated area where no one could find the traveler or at least a place where these will not cause as much commotion.

But he was sent directly to the fire, to a beach close to a pier and port, so it was obvious that several people would be around. And now that he looked closer he could see that many people were Faunus.

That people were Faunus wasn't what surprised him, but rather that several of them had more than one attribute, from what he knows Faunus generally only inherited one animal attribute. Whether it is the ears, the tail, or another type of attribute that affected the physique of the Faunus.

He bit his lip, he didn't have time to meditate on the strange event. He has to find out what era he went back to or even when he went back. Wait... if he went back in time, does that mean he could save Pyrrha? Penny?

Jaune shook his head, he couldn't get his hopes up yet until he was sure what time or where he was. For the moment he acted as if he had never traveled in time.

He looked at the clock and bent down to grab the object, ignoring the piercing stares of the population for the moment. Once he grabbed the item, he put it in the bag he kept most of the targets in.

Luckily for him, only his Scroll was ruined by water, his casting shields were powered by Light Dust and they were anti-water. In addition to the shields, he had plenty of gravity dust and light dust that could last him for quite a few years, so he wasn't worried about the shortage of it. He also kitted out some smoke grenades, flashbangs, and a small repair kit in case his Scroll went bad.

Sometimes he wondered why he carried the grenades if he always forgets to use them. It's not like he would have had many opportunities to use them either, maybe if he hadn't let his emotions get the better of him and he had thought, he would have used a flashbang on Cinder, and they would have taken the opportunity to escape.

Jaune sighed in annoyance at his uselessness before shaking his head, there's no point thinking about what if, what's done is done and can't be changed. Although it is ironic to think about it since he went back in time a few seconds ago.

He noticed a couple of people were approaching, so as not to seem like a hostile person, he faked a smile and began to walk towards them in a friendly manner.

"Hey. Hello, I'm new to these places. From what I'm not familiar with, could you tell me where I am?" Jaune commented as he raised both hands in a gesture to appease them.

Both people, who were probably port guards, looked at each other before looking at him. "You are currently in the fishing district of the City of Melen. I'm surprised you don't know where you are, but considering that you just appeared out of nowhere." Said one of the guards, the youngest of them, he had an average build, he has brown hair with blue eyes.

"Which leads to the question." The guard with the most muscles narrowed his light brown eyes. "How did you appear like that so suddenly? Who are you?" The man put a hand on the pommel of his sword to make it look more intimidating.

"Whoa, whoa. There's no need to be hostile" Jaune said nervously, he doesn't want to fight them, but he also couldn't say to drag him just because they were paranoid. "I have no intention of harming anyone, I swear. Besides, I am a Hutsman so I must protect people."

"I thought hunters hunted animals?" said the younger guard confused.

"Don't change the subject, I won't ask again. Who are you?" the muscular guard asked with some hostility while he ignored his partner's question.

Jaune, not wanting to start a confrontation, had no choice but to give in. "My name is Jaune Arc. I'd show my Huntsman license, but I have to get it repaired. And getting here really is a long story, but what you should know is that I didn't do it intentionally, I was forced to get here." Jaune looked at the city for a few moments. "To the City of Melen, I suppose"

"Can the licenses be repaired?" the young guard commented with a raised eyebrow.

Jaune sighed. "The license is on my Scroll, but the water damaged the device so I have to take a look at it to know that it is ruined so I can repair it"

The muscular man raised a skeptical eyebrow "I've never heard that kind of license. So I'm very doubtful about what you say"

The young man looked at the muscular man and said "It would be better if we took him to the god Njord, it would be much easier to know if he is lying."

The muscular guard looked at the young guard with a thoughtful look, before sighing heavily. "We'll take you to the god Njord, though I warn you not to try anything funny. Even if you're stronger than us, our fight would cause more commotion, which would make Leon-san intervene. Since he's in town."

With that said the muscular man began to walk towards where they were the great port that was impressively built to be close to the shore of a beach. Jaune is impressed by the district as it functions as a port and also functions as a beach.

"By the way, when you refer to this god, do you mean a real god or are you, you know..." Jaune wanted to add a worshiping church or a crazy cult but decided not to say so. "I've never heard of other gods you know, apart from the Brothers."

The young guard gave him a confused look. "The brothers? A nickname perhaps? Since gods can't have children," the boy muttered to himself before shaking his head. "But even then I haven't heard of gods with that nickname, so I don't know who you mean... and if it's a real god, you'll notice it when you feel the aura around them. the god you will meet is the god Njord, who is in charge of the security of the fishing district here in Melen. There are several gods in the city, but the most prominent is Njord and Poseidon. However, Baldr is also very well known, as he is the headmaster of the school district."

Jaune frowned in confusion. Were there more gods that he hadn't found out about? He doubted it, Ozpin didn't mention the existence of other gods, plus this guy is talking as if the gods were present on earth and not just symbols of worship.

"Are you okay by the way? You took a big hit in that fall" the young boy asked with concern, taking Jaune out of his thoughts and internal conflicts.

"Oh. If you don't have to worry, um…" Jaune trailed off realizing she didn't know the teenager's name.

"Marco Wix. Sir"

"Just call me Jaune, sir it makes me feel weird for some reason. And I appreciate the concern Marco, but I didn't get hurt, my aura protected me from harm" He tried to reassure him "Plus I've taken much worse hits, so that was just a scratch" Jaune tried to fake a proud smile.

"That doesn't bring me much comfort" the boy murmured, but he could hear it "Besides, what do you mean by Aura? Is it an ability of yours?"

Jaune began to worry much more now. Who didn't know about aura? Of course, he didn't know it was aura because he comes from an isolated town, but after Ruby introduced Salem to the world. Everyone should at least recognize the aura, not to mention that he broadcast live for a few seconds before the connection cut, so in a city like this it must be something recognized.

Or they should have, if he hadn't gone back in time, at the moment, he can't jump to conclusions.

But what caught his attention was that these people from the city are talking about gods as if they were walking among mortals. Not to mention that they do not know aura, they don't even know the correct term for a Huntsman.

"You know... Aura." Jaune, seeing that the boy did not understand, continued "The manifestation of the soul?" He asked softly, while his nerves increased. Seeing that Marco still had no idea about what he is trying to tell him, he gave up and decided to cover the subject with another person, for the moment he changed the topic of conversation. "Forget it, it's not important. What can you tell me about these gods?" Jaune commented very curiously.

Marco scratched his cheek with his index finger as he thought carefully. "Well... the gods came down a thousand years ago, despite that the gods are not allowed to use their Arcanum, since it is said that they could destroy the world if they wanted to, so the gods themselves made the rule between them" Marco stopped briefly as we climbed a set of stairs that leads to the harbor bridge that connects various parts of the fishing district.

"The city of Melen was previously just a fishing village that the Njord Familia took care of together with the ruler, but then the Poseidon Familia arrived and expanded the town further, collaborating with the Orario Guild, they turned a village into the city that is nowadays." Marco looked at the city with a smile. "Before this city was only governor by Lord Borg Murdock, but with his expansion the government of Melen City is divided between the Guild and the city governor."

Jaune looked at the city, even though they weren't as impressive as Vale or Atlas, it reminded him a bit of Argus. Jaune's face darkened for a few moments before he dismissed the thoughts, instead, he began to see how the different types of Faunus were living with humans in full harmony.

He noticed the feeling of restlessness in the people as if something serious was happening. Almost akin to the restlessness of the Mantle people. He ignored the slight tingling in his body that he began to feel from the sensation.

"The governor of the village must be a good governor if he can make Faunus and humans get along very well," Jaune commented impressed, he did not detect any type of racism so far. Almost like home, Ansel, since it was an isolated town and only with people who knew each other it was rare to see someone being racist, because of that he did not know racism from Humans to Faunus when he enrolled in Beacon.

"Eh. Faunus?" Marco had the confused look again.

Jaune raised an eyebrow in disbelief, how come he didn't know he was a Faunus?

Okay, calm down Jaune. There must be an explanation, he thought nervously. "You know, Faunus the people with animal features" Jaune commented, and for emphasis, he made a gesture of ears on his hands.

Marco blinked interested "You have a way of speaking with unknown terms Jaune, you almost remind me of the language of the gods" Marco shook his head slightly amused "In any case, you must refer to Demi-Human people, although I would recommend that you call them by the species name, some people may be easily offended."

Jaune nodded.

"Generally there is no animosity between any of the races, but there are also the elves who have a strict culture about certain actions and some look down on other races due to pride, they consider themselves a superior race because of their long lifespan and their great attribute in magic. Although not all elves are like this, I have met good and kind people among them."

Jaune blinked, and the butterflies in his stomach began to rise from fear and nervousness "Elves? magic?" He asks with his heart starting to pound.

"Yes, Magic. Elves are gifted with magic by being connected to nature, that's why they are the only ones who can manage to use magic without the blessing of a god. When they are blessed by a god, elves usually focus on magic, to improve their magic, although some focus on things other than magic." Marcus explained as he looked at Jaune, who was pale at the explanation. "Are you alright, Jaune? You look pale"

His fists clenched trying to stop the fear and discomfort that ate at him, but despite trying not to show it on his face, it was very obvious that nerves were taking over him.

he licked his lips trying to remove the discomfort of his dry mouth, which was caused by his nervousness. Every time Jaune was getting an idea of what was happening to him and he had two possible options.

The first is that he had traveled to a time long before Ozpin and Salem in Remnant where more gods and races existed and that they probably ruled him before the two brothers took over Remnant, but that was unlikely from the history of the book about them. Although he not ruling it out completely because there is a possibility that the information may have been deliberately withheld from the world.

The second is that he was no longer in the world of Remnant he was in a whole new world. Probably falling into the void caused the dimensional space to break, causing a literal crack to another world, this may explain that strange tree of time. So this is the theory Jaune was most inclined to, but he couldn't be 100% until he saw a map of the world. Even if he was far back in Remnant's time, he would recognize the geography of it.

Jaune smiles with false confidence, he has to pretend as Weiss does with some people in Atlas or like Pyrrha did with her fame. "Yeah, don't worry. It's just a little strange to me that humans and… Demi-Humans, I guess, get along completely in harmony." And before Marco could comment on it, Jaune continued "There are many human people who get along well with Demi-Humans, for example, I have several Demi-human friends. But many people where I come from don't like Demi-Humans very much because of that there is this racism and tension between them"

Marco had a conflicted face about the information that Jaune gave him "No offense Jaune, but the place you come from sounds horrible"

Jaune smiled, not at all offended. "Don't worry."

"You don't have to worry about racism here in Melen City or Orario City, all the races have been getting along for a long time. Although I would recommend you to be careful with certain people, especially because of the time we are in."

"Some people?" Jaune asked with concern, though he was intrigued and curious.

"For example, there are many adventurers who can be very greedy and self-centered and end up taking advantage of or stealing from rookie adventurers or supporters. But the people you should be most careful with are... Evilus" Marco whispered the name softly as he looked at the people around the port.

And although he was curious about the adventurers (from how he referred to them it seemed that the concept he had about them was very different from the concept he thought) Jaune focused on the most important thing. "This Evilus, is he dangerous enough?" Jaune narrowed his eyes, the way Marco pronounced it seemed like these people had made a name for themselves. And it didn't seem like the right type.

Sort of like the White Fang.

"Do you notice the tension of the people?" Marco waited until Jaune nodded "After the disappearance of Zeus and Hera Familia, they started killing many people and destroying many properties in various cities and towns in the world. That's why people are scared, no one knows when they will attack again, the great Familias are doing their best to stop them" Marco shook his head sadly "But they are quite slippery and hide, while they look for the opportunity to cause the most damage. Besides, they have several high-level adventurers, that's why the destruction of Evilus is complicated"

Jaune frowned while cursing internally, he was really upset that this place is being negatively affected by this group of crazy murderous psychopaths, he still couldn't understand why this kind of rotten people existed.

What did they gain by destroying the world? Was it just a pleasure to feel superior by killing people without any sense?

People can be really cruel and disgusting when they want to be. Jaune sighed heavily as he tried to prevent spiteful thoughts from entering his mind "You are very informed you know? Is it common for everyone to know about it?" He was curious.

Marcos shook his head "People know that Evilus is a terrorist organization, but they don't know much more than that. To avoid panic in the population. That's why security nowadays is very strict, so forgive the behavior of my partner. He lost someone important to Evilus"

Jaune winced, he can relate to the feeling of loss. Jaune looked at the muscular guard who was walking in front of them with a somber look, he couldn't help but sadness and nostalgia invade him.

Jaune wished that everything would be like before when he was in Beacon and the only real concern was passing his studies and combat classes, but he knows that he will never be able to experience that feeling of peace again. Not until Salem and his allies are dead and the world is rid of them.

Although Jaune wondered if the elimination of Salem was going to give them peace or if humanity would find another reason or excuse to hurt each other. He shook his head. He couldn't afford to be negative, for now, he has to move on and find focus on what to do right now.

"Don't worry I understand why they're nervous, I mean, I appeared out of nowhere on a beach. So it's normal to have certain suspicions and concerns" Jaune commented sincerely, at least he wasn't handcuffed and these people didn't seem as paranoid as General Ironwood.

"Do you know the objective that this group of terrorists is looking for?" Jaune asked with a frown, he is a little worried about the intentions of these criminals.

Marco thought about it for a few minutes "From what I understand they seek destruction-" but before he could finish the sentence someone interrupts them.

"Stop talking and pick up the pace, we're almost there" The muscular Guard turned to look at both of them before continuing walking.

"Yes sir, I'm sorry about that" Marco quickly obeyed and quickened his pace, gesturing for Jaune to speed up too.

Jaune raised an unimpressed eyebrow before beginning to quickly follow them, not wanting to anger the muscular guard who was clearly in a bad mood. After a few minutes of walking, they arrived at a large mansion that was located a bit far from where he was.

The muscular guard approached another of the guards and they had a conversation that Jaune couldn't hear, so he passed by mostly in silence as he tried to detect any suspicious activity, but since he didn't detect any hostile feelings (beyond the displeasure of the lair muscled by Jaune) So he allowed himself to relax.

The muscular guard sighed in disappointment before he finished the conversation with the guard guarding the entrance to the mansion, which he guessed belonged to the god Njord.

The muscular guard approached us with a frown. "The god Njord is currently in the school district, so we will have to travel to Lolog Lake to enter the Hringhorni ship"

"School district? Lake Lolog?" Jaune was curious, he didn't pronounce the name of the ship because he found it too complicated.

Marco was excited "Oh. You will love Jaune. I studied in the school district, the Hringhorni ship is the school district itself, being a very huge ship it can function as an educational institution and ship at the same time. Generally, the ship is traveling around the world dealing with conflict and helping students gain experience to level up. But until recently they returned from a long journey."

Jaune was shocked by the revelation, a ship that was huge enough to be turned into an educational institution, but despite that knowledge, something caught his attention.

"Level up? Like video games?" Jaune asked nervously.

"I don't know what a video game is, but when a god blesses you all people start at Level 1 no matter how strong or experienced you are, and to..." Marco was explaining enthusiastically before the muscular guard interrupted him.

"You better leave the explanations for later, Marco, after all, we still have to know if this guy is a suspect or not" The muscular guard snapped "The only thing you have to know is that the original purpose of the ship was to kill to the Leviathan monster, but now that the monster is dead it's used as a school district. The ship's only flaw is that it's too big and the other seaports can't accommodate it, Melen is the only port that is specifically designed to accommodate Hringhorni."

Jaune nodded wordlessly, it made sense to him, once the ship served the purpose of killing a Leviathan-class monster, then the ship would be used for another purpose, and being an educational institution was a good idea overall. Students can not only learn about a weapon that helped in the destruction of a great monster, but the ship itself would inspire students and give hope to many people, helping them improve and gain strength. Not to mention that students should have the guidance of expert teachers who can help them with their failures.

Jaune snapped out of his thoughts as they came to the connection between Lolog Lake and the Ocean of Melen. As they turned to go deeper into the lake, Jaune could see it. A gigantic ship, it wasn't as big as the tree, but it was much bigger, much bigger than any ship he had ever seen, even much bigger than the great fleet that Atlas took to Vale.

The ship had at least one diameter compared to that of a large city. The prow has a shape that is reminiscent of the head of a bird of light, and what appears to be the center of the ship is similar to a shell or the majestic back of a dragon. With hundreds of buildings on top of the ship.

Jaune stared wide-eyed and open-mouthed at the majestic and beautiful ship.

When Marco saw Jaune's expression, he smiled with joy. "Impressive, isn't it? This is the Hringhorni ship, the largest ship in the world and Melen's greatest success." Marco puffed out his chest proudly "People who study in Hringhorni are quite loved by the gods, although in great Familias there is still a difficulty. But this is the best place to learn, you will not find a place this impressive in other parts of the world"

"I've seen impressive things" Jaune commented still looking at the huge ship, the city of Atlas floating in the air came to his mind "But I've never seen such a big transporter in my life. We never had a ship that size where I come from"

Then the talk fell silent as the two guards and Jaune walked to reach the entrance. After a few minutes, they came to an area where there were large moving stairs, which were the entrance to the Hringhorni Ship.

The security to enter the ship was not as impressive as the security that was carried out on Atlas before the floating city was destroyed. Security was something similar to a common check that was done in the past, without documents. Just verification of your outfit, armor, weapons, and baggage.

After the Hringhorni ship guards checked Jaune and found nothing suspicious, and asked him some questions about some weapons he was carrying. Jaune was able to enter the great platform of the great ship.

While they walked through the great city installed on the surface of the ship, Marco explained to Jaune that various gods blessed the students, and the captains of the Familias were their teachers, so instead of calling themselves a Familia, they called themselves to class. The most famous and successful class was the Class of the god Baldr, who was the very headmaster of the school itself.

In the center of the city, there was a rather tall tower and from what Marco had explained to him, it was the command bridge of the ship and whose name is Breidablik. A very strange name and much more difficult to pronounce than the name of the ship itself, not to mention the fact of the strange hieroglyphics that Jaune couldn't read. He didn't ask what they meant because it seemed like Marco and The Muscle Guard could read them and he didn't want to be labeled illiterate.

A gentleman who can't read, how silly did that sound? Jaune could only smile in amusement at that fact. He hopes that if someone found out about that fact they wouldn't give him a ridiculous nickname, at least the only consolation he had on the matter is that the RWBY team will also be illiterate when they arrive.

Although the doubts within him as to whether they would arrive or not, wherever he was they never left him.

He saw in the educational institution both adults and adolescents and some children who seemed to be around 8 years old or older. Most of the students were pointing it out quietly with other students. He thought that he had earned the curiosity of the students of the big ship, it was the same when he was in Atlas, the citizens looked at him differently. And not to sound proud, but several girls tried to flirt with him because he had become quite attractive.

Unfortunately, he doesn't have the time to establish a romantic relationship, he has to become stronger so that he can help and save as many people as possible. Of course, he was not going to lie saying that he is not interested in establishing a romantic relationship at some point, he is still a man after all.

But he is afraid of going back to feeling the same pain he felt when Pyrrha died. Fear of establishing a romantic relationship only to have her die because he wasn't strong enough to save or help her.

He can't bear another failure of that intensity, he couldn't afford it.

Jaune snapped out of his thoughts when they reached the entrance to Breidablik.

The access door was as big as a mansion door. So there is enough space for several people to enter the tallest building that exists on the ship. They entered after the guards leading him talked to the guards at the entrance. He could see that there were quite a few guards on the ship.

They were walking for a long time, going upstairs to several floors in the building. He could see more guards and some students inside the building. The entire building of the ship seemed quite structured and well done. When they got to what he thinks is the ship's director's room. The door was suddenly opened and two girls came out, followed by a man with rather handsome blonde hair, which surely makes many women swoon over him.

"Thank you for the advice, Vardenburg-sensei." The girl with long brown hair that reached her back bowed slightly. The most prominent thing that Jaune noticed was her pointy ears.

He saw some people with those kinds of ears, only they were much longer than the ones she has. Although seeing that kind of ears much closer made Jaune much more curious.

She was 12-year-old Eina Tul, a student in the school district.

"I told you Eina, that Leon-sensei was the best person to solve our doubt" A girl much shorter than the other and with pink hair commented while puffing out her chest with pride.

She was 12-year-old Misha Flot, another student in the school district.

The guy named Leon Vardenburg gave a quiet laugh. Before Leon looks at the guards and Jaune who were standing uncomfortably. "Oh. Marco, Greg. Are you looking for your god Njord?"

The muscular man now named Greg stepped forward while nodding firmly "Yes Leon. This guy appeared out of nowhere in the fishing district." Greg jerked the thumb of his hand at Jaune "We asked him a few questions about his situation, but he said some strange things that I couldn't understand, so doing the interrogation together with the god Njord would be ideal."

Leon looked thoughtful before nodding. "I see. I guess they want to know he's not lying and make sure he isn't someone with malicious intent."

Jaune frowned "I don't mean to hurt anyone, I just want to clarify my situation and some questions that bother me"

Leon raised his hands appeasingly before giving his a courteous smile "Ah. Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that you have malicious intent, but with Evilus very close to Orario and Melen it's better to be safe. But something tells me you're a good person, So I'm sure this matter will be resolved quickly."

Jaune shook his head without taking offense "No, it's ok, I understand the reasoning." It was the same in Atlas when they arrived illegally, they wanted to make sure that they weren't a threat to the kingdom.

The two female students were all looking at him curiously, especially the pink-haired girl, but before she could comment. Eina nudged Misha causing her to stop "Come on Misha, we must not interrupt the business of the superiors" Without giving her time to speak Eina grabbed her arm and dragged her away from them.

Jaune sweated, due to the event. "It's good to see that students can still live without some worries from adults. It reminds me of the times when I was a student at Beacon"

Leon raised a curious eyebrow at him "I wasn't aware of an academy called Beacon. Where are you from?"

"I come from a peaceful town called Ansel before I went to the Kingdom of Vale to join Beacon Academy. But I don't think you've heard of that," Jaune commented wistfully. "By the way, I'm Jaune Arc." He held out a hand to Leon.

Leon accepted Jaune's hand with a smile. "I've never heard of the Kingdom of Vale, so you have me intrigued Jaune. Let me introduce myself, I'm Leon Vardenburg, a first-class adventurer and captain and master of the Baldr class."

Once Leon had introduced himself, another person walked out the door of the principal's office. This new person made Jaune's instincts tingle, though not from danger, but for a different reason.

A man with brown hair tied in a ponytail reached the nape of his neck. He has a kind but tough look and is in good shape, which reminded Jaune of Sun. The man wore a pink shirt tied on his shoulders like a cape and was wearing blue swimming shorts.

The man looked like a Man of the Sea, but what called attention to Jaune's instincts was the presence that the man gave off around him. He immediately knew that this man was not human, which left him very confused for a few moments before his brain made the connection.

"You are a god" Jaune commented in astonishment and disbelief.

"Hmm. I've never seen someone like him. Is he new to town?" the god asked.

The guards who led him explained Jaune's situation to the so-called god Njord.

Njord placed a hand on his chin "I see, so that's the case. Unfortunately, I have a very important meeting in a few minutes and I won't be available for a long time." Njord gave Jaune an apologetic smile before the god turned to Leon. "I know I'm asking too much, Leon, but could you take care of the situation with your god? I assure you I'll reward you if you do."

Leon gestured to dismiss the reward "I will, I have free time and I'm sure Baldr wouldn't mind taking a bit of his time. No need to reward me Njord-sama"

Njord smiled gratefully "Then I am grateful to you, Leon. And you Jaune sorry for the inconvenience of the situation"

Jaune shook his head before showing him a smile "No, It's okay. It doesn't bother me, you don't have to worry. God Njord"

Njord relaxed in relief "Okay then we say goodbye" The god turned to his guards "Greg, Marco let's go we have a lot of things to do"

"Yes. Njord-sama" They both replied before following the god who was walking away from Jaune and Leon.

Marco stopped before looking at Jaune "See you later, Jaune I hope you can solve your problems" Once he said it he started to follow his partner and god.

Jaune just waved goodbye.

Once they left, Leon turned to Jaune with a serious expression. "Okay, I'm sure you have as many questions, as we have questions about you and your intentions. So it's best to start before we're busy" Without further ado Leon gave him the step so that Jaune entered first.

Jaune quickly complied and entered the headmaster's office. The first thing he found was the window that gave a beautiful view of the lake, as well as some of the ship's buildings. Opposite the window was the headmaster's desk and sitting in the headmaster's chair was another person with the same feeling emanating from the god Njord.

He found it strange how these people were gods, but at the same time they felt like he was talking to normal people and they didn't give off that kneel-or-die feeling. Not to mention that the gods looked like very successful models from the way they looked.

The clothing of the god Baldr was very similar to that of the monks who prayed in the mountains, like the one in his favorite comic series. The god has shoulder-length hair and what appeared to be a crown made of leaves on his head.

"I'm sorry for the intrusion Baldr-sama. But I need your help with an important matter" Leon closed the room to speak privately and then pointed to him. "Jaune Arc here. It's a visitor from Melen that came to the fishing district, not naturally, but there was some kind of magic involved that made it suddenly appear. The Njord Familia guards explained the situation to me and due to Njord-sama's lack of time, I agreed to interrogate him for them."

"I see. Very good." The god Baldr agreed. "Before we start I want to warn you that you can't lie to a god, so I would appreciate it if you don't bother trying, Jaune," Baldr said in a serious but gentle tone.

"I see." Jaune was thoughtful for a few moments, thinking about what he could say to the god and what wouldn't be better to say. But before speaking, he has to know something "Before we start, you can show me a map of the world. It's to verify something and make this interrogation much easier"

Leon seemed surprised, and the god Baldr was intrigued by the request. Baldr looked at Leon before he nodded. Leon understanding went to one of the drawers in the director's room and open one of them before looking for something among several papers.

A satisfied Leon took out the map he was looking for before putting the rest of the papers away and walking towards Jaune to hand him the map.

When Jaune saw the geography of the world, he froze and turned pale. He already had strong suspicions about this, due to the new meanings such as Family, Falna, something about the level of an adventurer like it was a video game, the gods among mortals, talking about magic as if it were a natural thing in the world, and the different types of Faunus or Demi humans as they call it here, living in harmony without a hint of racism.

That meant he was no longer in his world. The relic of creation sent him and the RWBY team to a different world. Worst of all, he was unlucky enough to go back in time in what was an unknown world to him, for who knows how many years.

He doesn't know how long he has to wait until the RWBY team arrives in the same world. He couldn't leave without them either, which means he was trapped alone in a world unknown to him.

The urge to vomit was overwhelming him, but he did his best to contain himself. He doesn't want to appear disrespectful in front of a god, even if his divine powers were sealed. His heart was pounding and he felt his breathing quicken.

Jaune was about to go into a panic attack, but a hand on his shoulder snapped him out of his dark thoughts before they had a chance to overwhelm him.

"Are you alright, Jaune? You look quite affected and looked like you were about to have a panic attack." Leon looked at him with concern, his brows furrowing as he looked at him.

"I..." He was going to reply that he was fine before realizing that he was facing a god and remembering that he couldn't lie. Jaune with a dry throat and some tears in his eyes shook his head "Not me." He took a deep breath before looking at Leon and Baldr. "What you will hear probably sounds crazy, but everything I will say is true"

Jaune was going to tell them about his situation, they seemed trustworthy and didn't seem to be bad people. Plus it was the best chance he had to adjust to the world and getting some help would be much better than him looking for all the answers alone, not to mention that they might be able to help him get back home.

He has to go back, he has to see Nora and Ren again, stop Salem, and kill Cinder, especially the last one. He was going to wait for the RWBY team while he got stronger, he would look for a method to return home. And when the RWBY team came to this new world. he would find them and they would see that he had grown stronger and perhaps much older, but as long as they can return home safely, then everything will be fine with him.

When he confronts Cinder again, he was going to kill her and he would show no mercy.

Jaune took a deep breath and steeled the determination within before looking at the people in front of him with a new resolve.

And he spoke.

CREATORS' THOUGHTS

Author's note: I hope you like the chapter, I had to do a lot of research to get an idea of the city of Melen and its events.

Don't worry Jaune, just explain the essentials of the situation without having to lie, just enough so that they can believe him and help him, he wouldn't say anything personal to people who are strangers to him.

[Spoiler]

The people of Danmachi can also unlock their aura, only they have never needed it, due to the spirits and the blessing of a god.

I was surprised by the last chapter of RWBY in which it was confirmed that the Ever After tree was not created by the brothers, but that the brother gods were created by the tree. That may give me some ideas for when we get to canon Danmachi time.
