Chapter 5: Chapter 4) The Last Grounder

~Season 1 - Episode 2 - Earth Skills~
Law wakes up early the next morning, he uses some of the gathered water to rinse of his face before getting dressed fully already having plans for the day ahead.
In his excitement yesterday to test out his Earth Skills, Law forgot that earth had a multitude of predators before the bombs. Now that he's confirmed that there is smaller prey such as Squirrels and Rabbits he's 100% percent sure that there's predators out there as well.
Where there's prey there's predators.
Naturally Law is going to need something to protect himself with, he's not yet confident in his skills with a bow to use in active combat but he has fairly decent knife skills from his use in fights on the Ark.
So today Law plans to create a knife to use, as his carving knife won't be any good for fighting sure it could kill but the blade isn't that strong and it's imbalanced making it useless to throw with.
So he needs a decent size strip of metal from the dropship, he'll have to use wood as a handle and possibly wires to tie it together. With some water, heat and a stone he should be able to shape the knife but it make take a few hours.
If he's not done in a few hours he could always create some spears. That'll be easy enough all he'd have to do is make one end pointy.
Law takes a couple minute to find a decent size piece of metal it's a couple inches, nearly 9 inches but it'll get smaller as he sharpens and shapes it.
So he starts his fire again grabs a good size rock to act as a wetstone, a long thinner rock to act as a table. Having already made a handle tied it together, it just need to be attached to the blade he'll be making.
So Law spends the better part of the morning turning a piece of metal into a working blade. Heating it up to help flatten it out and using water and the stone to make the edge sharp, it soon begins to take shape are a few hours as Law is nothing but determined.
Plus Law had some entertainment throughout the day watching the ongoing of the camp.
When Law is finally satisfied with the blade and connects it to the handle. He gives it a few practice swings and cuts it into some of the squirrel skins to see if it cuts and stabs.
It does. Law smiles at his handy work, "FIGHT! FIGHT!" The chanting annoys Law, so he goes to investigate.
Only to see Wells Jaha and John Murphy fighting, Law was surprised that Wells could hold his own so well. He easily handled Murphy in Law's eye, and his opinion of the guy rose a little.
"Don't you see you can't control this?" Wells points out to Bellamy having beaten Murphy.
But Murphy doesn't stay down he pulls out a knife and goes to attack Wells, "You're dead"
Bellamy stops him first, "Wait. Fair fight" then tosses a knife at Wells feet.
Surprisingly Wells picks up the knife and carry's on the fight. Law watches as Wells once more handles Murphy with ease, causing Law to smirk. Wells eventually gets Murphy in a headlock and puts a knife to his throat.
"Wells! Let him go!" The blonde girl says stepping into the clearing the boys were fighting in, Law still needs to learn this girls name.
Wells follows her command shoving Murphy away, who goes to continue the fight but is stopped by Bellamy. "Enough, Murphy"
"Octavia. Are you all right?" Bellamy asks his sister helping her sit. "Yeah" she reply's.
"Where's the food?"
"We didn't make it to Mount Weather" Finn answers him.
"What the hell happened out there?" Bellamy asks, Law was also curious stepping closer into the clearing.
"We were attacked" the Blonde tells him. Law nods his head makes sense any predator would be able to kill them, they were practically free food out there with no protection.
"Attacked? By what?" Wells continues the questioning.
"Not what. Who" Finn says shocking everyone even Law. Who straightens up giving Finn his full attention. "It turns out, when the last man from the ground died on the Ark, he wasn't the last Grounder"
"It's true. Everything we thought we knew about the ground is wrong. There are people here, survivors. The good news is, that means we can survive. Radiation won't kill us" The Blonde says to everyone people seem to trust her word.
"Yeah, the bad news is the Grounders will" Finn adds.
"Where's the kid with the goggles?" Wells asks noticing one of the 5 people missing.
"Jasper was hit. They took him. Where is your wristband?" Blondie asks.
Wells nods towards Bellamy, "Ask him"
"How many?"
"Twenty-four and counting" Murphy answers instead.
"You idiots. Life support on the Ark is failing. That's why they brought us down here. They need to know the ground is survivable again, and we need their help against whoever is out there. If you take off your wristbands, you're not just killing them. You're killing us!" Blondie tells everyone.
Law looks down at his wristband, he's got no love for most people on the Ark. Hell he wouldn't care if most of them floated themselves, but not everyone in the Ark deserves to die.
"We're stronger than you think" Bellamy tells her, "Don't listen to her. She's one of the privileged. If they come down, she'll have it good. How many of you can say the same?"
"We can take care of ourselves. That wristband on your arm? It makes you a prisoner. We are not prisoners anymore! They say they'll forgive your crimes. I say you're not criminals! You're fighters, survivors! The Grounders should worry about us!"
All the other Delinquents seem to agree, causing Blondie to walk off followed one of the boys who went with her yesterday. Law grabs one of the Delinquents shoulders, "What's Blondie's Name?"
The Delinquent looks confused but still answers, "Clarke?"
Law nods and heads back to his tent to sharpen his knife it seems he'll properly be needing it soon enough. Maybe some more arrows as well.
Law was sharping his knife when a few sets of footsteps approach him. He ignores them until they speak.
"Law" Bellamy says getting his attention looking up he sees Bellamy obviously, Murphy as well, Wells and Clarke are there two. "You tracked and hunted those squirrels from last night"
"I did"
"Could you do the same for Jasper?"
"I could" Law answers easily tracking a person is fairly easily especially if they are carrying a bunch of dead weight like another person.
"Will you?" Clarke asks stepping forward.
Law flips his knife into his hand before nodding, "Sure" standing he brush's himself off, "Just get me to we're you last saw him"
"Thank you" Clarke says, and Law can see the sincerity in her eyes. "Let's go"
Law walks behind Clarke and Wells letting her lead the way as Bellamy and Murphy hang back a little to chit chat.

"Hey, Hold up" Bellamy calls out taking out his gun, "What's the rush? You don't survive a spear through the heart"
"Put the gun away, Bellamy" Wells tells him.
Murphy instantly steps forward looking for a fight, "Well, why don't you do something about it, huh?"
Law steps between the two boys looking Murphy dead in the eyes, making both of them back down.
"Jasper screamed when they moved him. If the spear struck his heart, he'd have died instantly. It doesn't mean we have time to waste" Clarke explains, Law nods in agreement.
"As soon as you take this wristband off, we can go" Bellamy tells her speaking directly to her.
"The only way the Ark is gonna think I'm dead is if I'm dead. Got it?" Clarke tells him, Law can see she's dead serious, the girls got fire Law can't deny that.
"Brave princess" Bellamy's tone is threatening, causing Law to step closer just in case.
"Hey, why don't you find your own nickname?" Finn calls out coming out from some bushes, "You call this a rescue party? Got to split up, cover more ground. Clarke, come with me"
The two walk away, Law is the first to follow. He heads in the same direction but keeps his eyes of Clarke she's the one who knows where Jasper was last seen.
"You don't talk much do you?" Murphy questions coming closer to Law.
"Some people" Law pause looking at Murphy, "Ain't worth talking too"
"Why you still wearing that Wristband?" Murphy continues speaking anyways. "Isn't your mother dead and didn't you try to kill your father"
Law pauses glancing at Murphy, "My Father is still alive"
"So what?" Murphy falls in step with Law "You want the Ark to come down so you can finish the job?"
Law stops walking looks at Murphy to see him smirk before answering in a single word. "Yes"
"Hey! Over here" Law hears Clarke's voice, he heads there direction and sees that her a Finn are staring at a a blood soaked rock.
Law inspects the sight, there's a lot of blood. "Who after took Jasper has removed the spear" Law says out loud, "We should move quickly"
"This way" Finn points out head away from the group. Law also looks at the tracks but he's more suspicious then the rest.
For someone whose potentially lived in a forest their entire life they shouldn't leave behind a lot of obvious tracks, some of which Finn doesn't pick up on.
Law doesn't let any one know of his suspensions just yet and let's Finn take lead but he keeps his eyes open and body ready to fight.
