Chapter 2: The Secrets Of The Blade

Three days later I got a phone call from James. He and Charles were in a whispered panic. They said there was a creature in their house and that they were hiding in the closet freaking out. Then screams, and the call went dead. I knew that they were gone and it filled me with deep sorrow and regret. But it also filled me with a sense of urgency. My birthday could not come at a better time.

See I was taught from a young age that I was a child of Xatuchu, the ancient God of the dead. Since that day I was awarded a sword from my mother and she stated that on my sixteenth birthday, the blade would be enhanced by one of the 13 main elements. But the three most common and most powerful were Death, Lightning, and Water. I had always assumed that I would get the death attribute due to the fact of who my father was.

Instead, when I awoke the next morning and had finally turned sixteen I had waited until my brother woke and then revealed my attribute to him but it was different than it should have been. Instead of the blade being made of the darkest steel from the pits of despair. The blade glowed bright yellow and made the hair on my arms stand on end. I had gotten the electric attribute but... how was this possible any child of a specific God was supposed to get that god's blade. This didn't make any sense.

I was distraught about receiving the wrong blade though I decided to make the best of my situation by immediately testing out the powers the blade gave to me. At the moment I could only see that it gave me lightning-fast speed and reflexes but also sent out a powerful electric current through anything that it touched. Although it never hurt me.

After intense training all day and late into the night, I came inside to lie down and sleep. That night I had a rather peculiar dream.
