Chapter 3: Bosses

Allison arrived at the location where she'd heard the explosive sound from earlier.

Looking at the scenery in front of her it could only be described as a destructive one.

A huge crater was right in the middle of the area they currently were, it was so large that it could easily fit in a hundred people and more.

In the center of this crater a black skinned humanoid beast stood tall. Its head like that of a rhino with a large horn sticking out from its snout adding to its menacing look.

Its crimson black scales could easily be seen from afar and on its gut an orb could be seen glistening with brilliance and it seemed to be releasing a powerful wave of energy so strong that the air around was being pushed away visibly.

A notification popped up in front of her, leaving her a bit stunned because she had never seen such during the test program, moreover the power radiating from the beast was one she couldn't explain, it gave off a strong feeling of reality which during the test program it hadn't been like that.

However at the moment that didn't matter to her because for some reason she felt a feeling of urgency as though her body was urging her to run.

A look from the evolved boss made her go stiff in fear, so much fear that she couldn't even move a muscle, she stood there just gazing at the beast with fearful eyes.

"Move! Move!" She urged her body to move but albeit her efforts were fruitless.

A large amount of steam escaped from its snout as it huffed. The beast jumped out of the large crater at a height which was a feat that could not be attained by any man or animal.

Now looking sternly at Allison, its eyes locked on her it dashed forward all that was left on its trail were shadowy blur images as it sped its pace.

Tightening its fist it threw out a devasting punch that made it look as though the air itself was giving way for the punch to pass practically tearing through it, but a cool breeze suddenly brushed past Allison and the next second she found herself being carried bridal style by a certain someone.

The beast was left shocked still trying to understand the strange phenomenon that had occured, because for some reason it struck nothing but air.

Allison was left in a daze, she certainly didn't expect such an outcome, when she saw the punch coming her instincts kept warning her to retreat but her body had already succumbed and gave in, out of fear.

'What is this feeling am I afraid.....but I wasn't during the test...... why does everything suddenly feel so different' she thought to herself.

Now looking at the figure who'd suddenly appeared out of the blur and saved her, she could only see his very familiar dark colored green hair as he was still looking in the direction of the beast.

Having a general person in mind her face flushed red in embarrassment as she thought of the said person.

"Nolan?," she called out in a soft voice still having this awkward feeling wash over her

"Huh?" The latter replied, looking towards her with a questioning gaze.

Now looking at the person's face she immediately felt stupid.

'of course it wouldn't have been him, the hair color might be the same but it might still be a different person, the game just randomly throws us into different characters so I doubt he'd still look the same too' she thought to her self facepalming (in her mind).

"Oh I'm sorry about that, I thought you were someone else"

"Doesn't matter, our problem now is that," he quickly replied not even sparing a glance at her as he dropped her to her feet.

She soon noticed why his reaction was as so; the beast had already readied itself for another attack, locking its gaze on the two.

The beast dashed towards them throwing out its fist yet again for another attack.

'Thankfully it seems the beast isn't smart, it's just throwing out its fist with no skills, relying on only brute strength' Tenkin thought, now looking towards Allison he said "At my signal we run"

Looking at him, for some reason she felt all the fear that had built up in her suddenly disappear, and their was this feeling that made her just want to trust the latter by her side.

The beast was soon very close to them, but right as the fist was about an inch close, it could suddenly see another figure running head first towards it with a frightening speed.

Recalling what happened just minutes back, it quickly turned to deal with the new comer before it interfered with it's fight yet again.

But as the figure neared closer, it sensed the hostility and quickly reacted crossing it's two hands in an 'x' shape in an attempt to guard itself.

*BOOM*

A loud explosive sound resounded as the Rhino headed beast was sent skidding across the ground. Both Allison and Tenkin were stunned by the sudden change of events.

"Was this your pla..."

"No it certainly wasn't," Allison was cut off by him before she could complete her questions.

Soon the cloud of dust settled and they could now see the new comer that had its long tongue slithering out.

A sudden notification popped up in front of the two. Seeing the notification Tenkin raised a brow as he pondered;

'is this really the same game we played during the test program?... Well things are about to get interesting' he thought as he looked at the two bosses, who had now locked in on each other as opponents.
