Chapter 94: Results
-----Yui's POV
Just like yesterday, and the day before, Kaede and I snuck out into the restroom after finishing our matches. Yesterday's match I fought against a fellow knight, but they weren't from my class so they had to have been from the 2nd or 3rd years. The match was quite easy, but Kaede was the one having the issues as it also happened during the second half of the day, so she had to hold herself back until after I properly finished my fight. The match I just finished was another easy win, but it did advance me to the top 64, so starting at the start of next week I'll be fighting in the stadium alongside Kaede.
Suddenly, I feel Kaede's nails digging into my arms as she continues to suck my blood in one of the bathroom stalls, causing me to flinch a little.
Kaede: "Sorry!"
Yui: "I-it's okay. Don't speak so loud though-"
Since we're doing this in public once again, I can't afford for Kaede's secret to become exposed. But seriously, what is going on with Kaede's thirst? She's been getting more aggressive whenever we do it, like just now it felt like her nails were like little daggers trying to dig into me. I wouldn't be surprised if she made a hole in my uniform, I'll be sure to check it before we exit the stall.
Thankfully no other girls decided to come in like all the other times, and after some time, Kaede gently took her fangs out from my neck. I don't know whether my body is getting stronger from constantly getting my blood sucked, or I'm just getting used to it, however my body still feels weak every time we do it.
Yui: "H-had, enough?"
Kaede: "Mhmm. You sure you're okay?"
Yui: "Mmm, I'm fine."
Kaede: "...Sorry."
Yui: "Hey hey look~ I'm okay see?"
I give her a bright smile, bringing myself up from leaning against the bathroom stall instead of leaning against it. Her expression is still a bit sour but I do my best to reassure her.
Kaede: "I'll do my best to control myself... I'm fine doing these things with you, sucking your blood, but if every time you'll be looking like that, then I'll try my best.
Yui: "Mmm, okay."
We stay in the stall a bit longer, partly to make sure I was okay to stand on my own two feet, but also to spend some extra time alone together. Bathroom stalls aren't really a nice place for it, but it's a bit exciting in a way knowing that people could come in at any moment and catch us if we're not quiet enough.
Eventually though, we make our way to the cafeteria. Since Kaede and my matches were in the same area today, we had gone straight to the restroom as soon as lunch started. So upon entering the cafeteria, we go to get our food before making our way to-
Luna: "Hey!"
Suddenly, Luna confronted us facing us. The tone of her voice is completely different from what I know, coming across very serious and somewhat threatening.
Luna: "What's going on? Ellen was fine before her match but now her face looks terrible! Not just today, but yesterday as well."
I figured that we couldn't hide it well, especially with how suspicious it is, and looking at the others at the table, they all share the same look as if they too are wondering what's been going on.
Luna: "You run off with Ellen and when you guys return, she looks like she hadn't slept for 3 days! So-"
Yui: "Luna..."
There wasn't a single tear in her eye, she looked dead set on finding out what's been going on, but I can't tell her about Kaede's situation, my mouth now struggling to find the next words.
Kaede: "It's none of your business."
Luna: "Huh?!"
To my surprise, Kaede stepped in to answer instead of me, answering back with a serious tone of her own, but more cold than threatening unlike Luna's.
Kaede: "Like I said, it's none of your business."
Luna: "Like hell it's not. Ellen's my best friend! So I disagree, it IS my business!"
By this point, we've made a scene as everyone else in our area of the cafeteria is staring at us in complete silence. I'm still at a loss for words as I find myself just standing in place next to Kaede, frozen. It was Kaede who unfroze me as she brought my body close to her side, wrapping her arm around waist.
Kaede: "Back off."
Luna: "...No, I-"
Kaede: "She's my... Look, there's just some things that we cannot say."
Luna: "But whatever IT is, if it's causing Ellen to look like that, then we have a problem."
Yui: "Luna I'm okay. It's me who asked for this in the first place."
Luna: "Ellen..."
I finally found something to say to help ease the tension here, and judging from the sound of Luna's voice, it appeared to work, if only a little.
Kaede: "It's mutual, like she says. So give it up already."
Yui: "I'm fine Luna, trust me."
Luna: "...But your face-"
Yui: "It's just a side effect. It'll clear up soon, okay?"
Luna: "...It better."
Seeming to have given up, she turns to sit back down at the table as the noise from the other students slowly faded back in. In all honestly, if it weren't for Kaede holding me close just now, I felt like I could collapse which may've made this all the worse. I let out a sigh of relief as we also take our seats, although the atmosphere seems to be a bit awkward now.

Yui: "So! How was your match Mark?"
Mark: "Huh? Ah yeah, I didn't make it. So sadly I'm out of the tournament now. But I'll be cheering you guys on, so be sure to win it for us Kaede!"
Kaede: "Mhmm! I'll win it for sure!"
Phew, seems like I managed to spark a conversation with Mark lighting up the mood at the table. Collin and Violet were nowhere to be seen.
George: "I'm also out of the tournament haha. That girl with the bow is quite annoying."
Luna: "Girl with a bow?"
George: "Yeah, she made it difficult to get close to her with some kind of quick sand magic before firing arrows at me."
Kaede: "Oh yeah! I think I saw her fight in my first match. So she still used that same trick huh? No wonder she lost a match."
George: "Hey, you saying that I'm dumb for falling for her trick?"
Kaede: "Fufu~ I didn't say that"
He scoffs at Kaede, but I'm glad to see his mood's back to normal from before when his father was killed, this tournament must've been a nice distraction for him. Sadly though he and Mark have both been eliminated from the tournament.
George: "What about you Luna? Did you win?"
Luna: "..."
Yui: "Luna?"
Luna: "... I lost."
George: "What?! But you're strong as hell! Who could've-"
Luna: "Marcus von Keller."
Yui/George: "..."
I brought up that name during one of our talks, so it came as a shock for Luna to go up against such a scary opponent like that. Now that I knew her opponent, it made sense that she lost. He possesses both wind and earth magic, incorporating each element perfectly with having immense speed and strength. Talk about a brutal combo. Maybe her match also had something to do with her little outburst from earlier? I'm not sure.
Yui: "Well at least you're still in the tournament right? So you'll be able to show off to your family at the stadium!"
Her eyes lit up from my remark.
Luna: "That's true!!"
I do hope Luna can show off to her parents since the stadium is a public space outside the academy, so even commoners can view it. Hence why I desperately climbed my way to the top 64 in hopes that my parents and Alice would be in attendance.
There were no matches for the final day of the academy's week so we could rest a bit extra for the stadium matches for next week. Luna was in good spirits as we walked out of class, hand in hand.
Yui: "We should tell your parents the good news. They'd love to watch you fight."
Luna: "Mhmm! I was planning on going there after class."
Yui: "Let me just go find Kaede before we head off, meet me at the dorm room okay?"
Luna: "Okay~"
