Chapter 16: The show (2)

"What did you call it again?" Lucas asked, gazing at the Goddess in confusion. "Divine chain? Divine, what was it again?"

The Goddess did not reply, silently staring at him with wariness. Lucas smiled, his eyes rolling upward, seemingly in deep thought.

"Ah, whatever. I'm not a Divine anyway, so I can't cast a spell like that. Wait, I'm an exalted being, so maybe I can."

Lucas mumbled to himself, and everyone who perceived him thought Lucas must be out of his mind to talk with himself.

"Divine… break?"

Lucas muttered, and surprisingly, a noise of breaking echoed from the chains, and when the Goddess stared at it, she was in deep shock. Cracks appeared in the chain, slithering continuously like a snake, and the golden chain completely shattered into pieces.

The Golden chain vanished before it could touch the ground, bringing wonders and shocks to the mid-teens. The Goddess was flabbergasted too and stared at Lucas in horror.

It had been too long since a Devil had brought so much horror at her. They had been the cause of terror in her heart, carrying many traumatic moments engraved in her core memory.

She really believed that when the humans rose to the top of the food chain, the dominant race, the devils and dragons, had been banished and disappeared after their war with each other.

But who would have thought there would be a devil appearing among the humans? From the humans in another world, nonetheless?

She couldn't think straight anymore, and her mind thought of chaotic absurd possibilities as to even believe all the humans she summoned were possessed by a devil. She even thought the old stagger might have overlooked such a shocking matter in his world.

Without a doubt, Lucas was a vessel of the Devil, and the latter took advantage of his emotional breakdown and possessed his body when he fainted.

"A-Are you a Primordial Devil?" The Goddess stuttered.

To be honest, a Primordial Devil was one of the highest ranking devils she knew, and when she claimed Lucas, or the Devil who has now accessed Lucas's body, a Primordial Devil was already an overstatement.

"A Primordial Devil?" Lucas's eyebrow arched upward. "I may be ancient, but Primordial Devil is a bit understatement, you know that?"

The Goddess felt her heart palpitating in her throat when she heard it. The Devil might be a natural deceiver, but what if what he said was true? After all, to break her sealing spell in a single word, and even detecting the waves of his evil power for a split-second, conveyed that his words were backed with actions!

'Does that mean?'

'Wait, Lucas? Why is that name so familiar?!'

Her stoic face from before, and the forced expression of sorrow, have completely broken. Lucas smiled when he stared at it, enjoying the piece of art he created. To be honest, he intended to cause trouble with the Goddess to simply satisfy Lucas.

Lucas, watching the event unfold from the vast screen, was astonished when he heard their conversations.

Primordial devil? I don't know what that is, but it seems awesome, right?

Wait! Why am I feeling amazed by the Devil that is occupying my body? I should think of how to get rid of him! For such an ancient existence, from what he stated, to possess me and a devil nonetheless, depicted he would come and take over my body.

I should not let that happen!

Lucas finally found the resolve to live… just when he was thinking of running away and abandoning his life. He should not let the Devil take control of his body and do whatever he wants!

But what Lucas actually aimed to prevent the Devil from taking over his body… was the other way around.

For the Devil to break the magic the Goddess assaulted him, expressing he could obtain it too.

And the only way to acquire that… was to own the Devil and suppress him, and take over the power he possessed!

"Lucas Madrigal!"

The Goddess exclaimed in horror. Her voice was so loud it caused the student's ears to bleed, and they even thought their eardrums must have been destroyed.

If it was from before, her voice appeared melodious and alluring, but now… it was akin to the scream of a woman seeing a ghost! And it was very unpleasant!

The Goddess subconsciously took a step back, and her body continuously shivered in terror. Everyone wondered what had gotten the Goddess to be so scared after she uttered the name of Lucas… and they were stunned to finally realize it wasn't his complete name.

Lucas' last name was not Madrigal, so why did she call him with that name?

Even Natalia was perplexed by it, as she was aware it wasn't the last name of Lucas.

All gazed at Lucas once more, and the Goddess's actions appeared contagious, which made Michael and everyone take a step back as they felt tensed, staring intently at Lucas. They didn't know what caused the Goddess to fear him, but if she, the Goddess with astronomical magical power, scared him, why were they not?

"Ah!" Lucas' voice broke the silence and tense atmosphere. "It seems I was found out. I guess the show ends here, Lucas. I'm sorry to disappoint you if the show did not satisfy you.

You can give your ratings or review later, but first..."

Lucas smiled, and two of his fingers glued with each other as he brought it before him. When he flicked it, the convoluted runic circle actually glimmered with crimson luminescence.

To be honest, the blood of the mortal was not enough to activate the teleportation magic array. And the amount of Aether an activator could provide corresponded to the distance it could reach. Therefore, with Lucas' blood, as a mortal, it should not be enough to teleport out of Goddess domain.

But… the activator was not Lucas, and he was no ordinary either. The same case applied to Lucas, who was the vessel of the devil. Therefore, the possibility of the teleportation magic array teleporting him to another dimension or a place far from the Goddess was high.

'Wha- What did you mean? W-Where do you plan on taking me?'

Lucas, the devil, appeared stunned, frozen in his place, surrounded by the crimson luminescence. After thinking it through, he replied internally:

'I actually forgot the coordination of the Dreka world… Haha, I guess I should send you to my world.

The Devil's Realm.'

Lucas was frightened when he heard it. Devil's Realm? The Realm of the Devil? Does that mean he would be teleported into hell?

Oh, god, please, no!

A/N: When I was thinking about the word count, I couldn't help but thought of writing long chapters, so what do you think, guys? I have been facing the problem of overthinking this novel, whether it falls fast-paced or slow-paced. So, this might solve the problem... but there's a huge problem... It's too difficult to write 4k a day!
