Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Choices

Inside Harleen's treecave, she examined her findings about the special type of werewolf she encountered. Reflecting on the incident during their School W5H, where he remained human under the full moon but grew a beard multiple times, she realized she should have made the connection earlier.

"Unfortunately, there's nothing I can do about it now," she sighed.

Shifting her attention to a unique piece of moving black clay, she carefully took it out of an expensive glass case. Grabbing car jacks, she began conducting experiments, considering the fatal range of amperage for humans, ranging from 0.1 to 0.3.

"Let's start with 10 amps. Do you think you can survive that, black blob?" she muttered in annoyance.

As nothing happened, she put on heavy-duty rubber gloves and started increasing the amperage in increments of ten.

100 amps

"..."

1000 amps

"...Wow, you're resilient, huh?"

10,000 amps

"...Just how much can you withstand? But it's okay because she pulled out a pink stone this can generate a total of 78,000 amps in an hour. Since you're made of a rubber-like material, this will likely be the last thing you'll experience on Earth. Unless, of course, you want to explain what happened last night?"

"Guess not, buddy."

She carefully loaded the arcing pink crystal, which didn't harm her, into her custom car battery.

.............

In Clesh's Lake, a frustrated voice exclaimed, "Fuck! Who the hell keeps zapping me?"

Meanwhile, as Harleen continued her experiments with the blood sample, she realized that her actions were out of character.

"I don't usually resort to such violent measures, and Father's crystal is needed for more important purposes," she mused, holding the crystal in her hand.

"Why was I so fixated on finding out what happened yesterday? sigh I have a feeling this will come back to haunt me," she acknowledged, aware of the potential consequences.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Blob, for my violent display. I dislike being taken advantage of. Okay, now you can go," she said, releasing the creature from its cage.

As it lay on the ground, it shrugged off its apparent injuries and transformed back into its uninjured form before slipping away.

"Well, I should get some sleep now. It's been one crazy day," she concluded, walking deeper into the cave. She pulled a lever, and a bed emerged from the wall, allowing her to rest.

Harleen found herself standing beside a grave with the name ANDREL RUDREEN engraved on it. A black-haired girl who resembled Harleen cried next to the grave, lamenting, "Father... Father... Father... why did you leave me?"

Harleen, appearing as a child, sat down on a chair and sighed. "Well, I guess we're doing this again," she remarked.

"These scenes are so cliché. Surprisingly, they actually help me calm down from what happened earlier," she reflected.

Harleen took out her special stone and examined it. "According to the information I gathered and my own assumptions, this pink rock is unique. It seems to generate its own energy, almost like cold fusion," she explained.

"It's quite fascinating, but it also attracts a lot of attention, just like shiny minerals. So, I assume the reason someone saved me earlier was because of this stone. And the reason I'm still alive is that I'm the only one who can resonate with it," Harleen reasoned.

"I hope he or maybe she doesn't come back for a while, so I can figure out the true purpose of this stone, aside from being a pink rechargeable battery," she continued.

Suddenly, young Harley began crying loudly, disrupting Harleen's thoughts.

"Oh, for f***'s sake!"

"Can you please shut up? I've had this dream so many times, and you never stop crying," Harleen shouted in frustration.

Sobbing "...Well, I just wanted to be relevant..." young Harley sniffled.

"Oh, now you can talk? Usually, I just yell to release stress, and nobody reacts to me," Harleen remarked.

"R-really? Well, sorry, every time you sleep with that pink crystal, I gain consciousness," young Harley explained while wiping away her tears.

"It's consciousness, actually. But that's fine, considering you're around 8 years old. Also, I want to clarify that our father is still alive and well today. So, what's the deal?" Harleen complained.

"W-wait, really?" young Harley exclaimed, feeling embarrassed.

"Wow, you're dumb, huh?" Harleen retorted with a condescending look.

"I'm sorry, no one told me our Dad died," young Harley said innocently, unaware of what she had just revealed.

"..."

"..."

"...Why are you just standing there?" young Harley questioned.

"I'm going to sleep in regular non-REM sleep now, okay?" Harleen stated, muttering 'idiot' under her breath.

......

"Students, if you can't even answer slightly advanced trigonometry, then I'll have to assign another 10 pages of homework. But don't worry, since you only had 5 pages today," the teacher said with a smile.

Harleen, lost in deep slumber, remained oblivious to the mischief of someone secretly slipping live frogs into her bag.

(Snore) Harleen let out a snort in her sleep.

(Hello, world! I am Lucille Dream, a second-year student at this prestigious high school. From the moment I laid eyes on Harleen Rudreen, I've always questioned if that's her real name. But mark my words, I am the true protagonist of this world, and it's time for me to reclaim what is rightfully mine.)

"Ms. Dream, could you please enlighten us with the answer on the board?" Ms. Incel requested.

[Board Answer: Formula: d = √ (w2 + h2)]

(With my unparalleled intelligence and unshakeable confidence, victory is inevitable.)

"The answer is as follows: d represents the diagonal of a rectangle, w represents the width, and h represents the height. Therefore, the solution can be derived as:

d = √252 + 202

which equals 32.0156 cm."

After providing a concise and flawless explanation, Lucille couldn't help but feel a surge of superiority. In her mind, she believed that she had the intelligence, charisma, and drive to outshine Harleen Rudreen.

It was her fervent desire to surpass Harleen in every aspect, especially academically.

She was determined to achieve first place in the term marks and prove herself as the ultimate victor, forever casting Harleen in her shadow.

As the bell rang, signaling the end of the class, Lucille couldn't help but revel in the attention and praise she received from her peers. She sauntered towards the board, basking in her moment of triumph.

"Now, please write the solution on the board, Lucille. You seem eager for this opportunity," Ms. Incel instructed, her anticipation palpable.

Lucille smirked confidently as she picked up the marker and began writing on the board. Her handwriting was precise and elegant, a reflection of her meticulous nature.

"The answer is 32.0156, with the diagonal measuring 252 and the width and height squared," Lucille announced, glancing over at Harleen's slumbering figure.

A wave of congratulatory remarks filled the classroom, as some students admired Lucille's impressive improvement in math and her determination to achieve a perfect score.

"Whooo!"

"Congratulations, Lucille!"

"That's amazing!"

"At least someone is passing with flying colours."

"You're killing it, sis!"

However, amidst the praise, a few disapproving murmurs could be heard, as some students were envious of Lucille's success.

"She's back again, stealing the spotlight."

"Harley, save us from her reign!"

"Bunni, who are you looking at?"

"Congrats, Lucil-"

"It's Ms. Dream for you, Caesar!" Lucille sharply interrupted a boy named Caesar, who had attempted to address her informally.

"Y-yes, Ms. Dream," Caesar stuttered, visibly intimidated by Lucille's commanding presence.

The classroom buzzed with a mix of admiration, envy, and apprehension as the students hurriedly gathered their belongings and left the room, eager to move on to their next class.

BRNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

The sound of the bell resonated through the corridors, signalling the end of the class and granting Lucille a temporary reprieve from the scrutinizing eyes of her peers.
