Chapter 10: Tournament Elimination (Part 4) The First Morning

Three figures stood within the room. They had just witnessed Lia's medical procedure. Shock wafted over them all. Someone audibly gulped, breaking the awkward silence.

The man in white armor spoke. "By the Goddess. I've never seen something like that. What a magnificent display of magic. Using blood magic to create flesh..the element of decay to cleanse the blood. Multi-casting short quick bursts of healing magic. This woman is a genius!"

Silvana, the Elven Witch nodded. "Such a display hasn't been witnessed in this tournament since the legendary hero. I had never expected to see such a display of pure mastery. I am impressed."

The old man nodded. "She's truly something else. An arch-mage level of talent at merely 16 years old? Truly a genius. It's too bad we already agreed to let her join your class."

Silvana chuckled. "A misfortune for you two."

.....

Lia's mind stirred from slumber. Her head ached and her memories were hazy after healing Lacey. There was a strange weight against her arm, it was warm. Groaning as she began to move, something was clutching her arm.

Her eyes shot open and she moved them to where her arm was. A light blush crept across her face as she saw Lacey fully asleep, clutching her arm as if it was a body pillow.

Lia's eyes turned hungry. Lacey held her arm in between her boobs, her head nuzzled into Lia's neck, and Lacey's knee was draped over her thighs. The girl herself remained almost unmoving, aside from the slight rise and fall of her chest. She was alive and had gained the energy to move at some point after Lia's collapse.

Lia's eyes didn't move from Lacey's exposed neck. 'Why am I so infatuated with this girl? She's so...plain. It feels strange, almost like something is..pulling my attention towards her.' Lia's concerns reached Saro, but there was no response.

Lia reached her free arm over and began to lightly shake Lacey. She woke up with a start and jumped backward, grabbing a rock as some kind of defensive weapon.

Lia raised her arms as an 'I mean no harm' gesture. Her voice came out as incredibly soft and overly kind, which startled Lia herself. "Lacey, relax. I won't harm you."

Lacey spoke hurriedly. "I..I...What was I doing? I...I was attacked, then I found a cave, and then...nothing. I woke up in y..your arms.." Her face burst into red-faced embarrassment as she said the last bit.

Lia pushed it aside. "I healed you as best as I possibly could. How are you feeling? Is there any residual pain?"

Lacey's eyes widened. "Thank you." She began to feel herself all over, searching for any tender spots, which made Lia's eyes go even hungrier. Finding none, she continued. "I feel...great, even better than I did yesterday. How is that even possible?"

Lia mused for a moment. 'This girl is..strange. Saro, do you have any ideas?'

Saro answered. Her breaths were short and labored. She sounded completely exhausted. 'I think she has some form of demon blood. Succubus or Incubus if I had to guess. My brain is...tired, I must rest.'

Lia physically nodded. 'Please rest. We did great work yesterday.'

Lacey watched in confusion as Lia nodded. Her head performed a slight tilt.

Lia hadn't thought much about demons. They were locked behind a hell gate, and one hadn't been witnessed in nearly a century. They were rare, and their presence within the continent was null. Lia turned to Lacey after a full minute of silence. "Lacey, do you know the story of demons?"

Lacey began to sweat, which made Lia's eyes narrow. Lacey knew what her mother was. Her mother was a succubus. "I. I see, so that's why? I'm sorry..err...did I ever get your name..?"

Lia chuckled. "I'm Lia. I take it you know what's happening, and have some semblance of an idea why?"

Lacey nodded. She was about to speak more, but Lia held a hand up. "You can tell me more when we're more secure. I don't know if anyone is listening in." She paused. "That aside, do you know who did that to you?" Lia's rage began to boil. Her eyes narrowed, her teeth sharpened as she snarled. Her rage was overwhelming. Lia attempted to stamp it down, but it was to no avail.

Lacey watched with widened eyes. 'Lia's a vampire' She thought. Of course, Lacey had never met one. Her thoughts quickly turned from fascination to perversion, an unfortunate side effect of her mother's heritage.

Lia's rage blinded her for a moment. All she could see was red. She didn't hear Lacey calling out to her, she didn't even notice Lacey approaching her sitting form.

.....

Sarovitch stood in front of a pop-up screen. She watched with fascination. Even if she was just a spirit, she had massive bags under her eyes.

Saro looked at her new stats.

Saro was slightly confused at all the numbers. Tapping on one, she realized immediately what was happening. 'The system has detected two separate entities and established stats for each one. Peculiar. My stats are in brackets, Kova's are the regular ones. The system believes Lia Darkova is the "host".'

Saro/Kova had leveled up three times, granting them six stat points. Saro was too tired to ponder much more, but she would likely be revealing the system to Darkova soon. She didn't want to take the chance that the stat points weren't shared.

Sarovitch Looked over her skills next.

Invisibility: Turns the user invisible. Consumes 1 Stamina per second.

All Seeing Eye (passive): Allows the wielder to passively see the names of every creature. (Can be leveled up.)

Instant Acceleration (Passive): Allows the wielder to instantly accelerate to full speed.

Limit Break: Shatters the user's limits and allows one to surpass mortal limits. Consumes 100 Stamina and doubles all physical stats for 30 seconds. (Str, Agi and End) *Can be leveled up*

.....

Saro pondered her skills and where they came from. 'Well, the most likely bet is that they came from my past life. Invisibility is strange though. It's not magic, but a skill. Very strange. I will just take these boons at face value.'

Saro was made aware of her exhaustion the moment her mind left the system window. Her head ached more than usual. The searing pain in her body was now impossible to ignore. The pain of her completely spent mind had melded with the pain from her reincarnation, and she was struggling to remain even semi-aware. Perhaps it was foolish, but Lia Sarovitch couldn't let go of her past life, and she carried the pain of reincarnation twenty-four-seven.

She had pushed herself too hard and stayed awake to ensure no one encroached upon the sleeping girls. She stayed up the entire night and only relaxed when Darkova had woken up. Her mind was pushed to the limit, and she curled up to rest, deciding to tell Darkova about the system once they were out of the pocket realm.

CREATORS' THOUGHTS
Rhasha_Trulin Rhasha_Trulin

Saro: It may be foolish, but I must remember my past life. It's a part of me, and it shapes me. Perhaps the pain of reincarnation has driven me mad, or perhaps I was always insane. In truth, it matters not.
