Chapter 11: The Battle of New York

"Call it, Cap" Tony said.
Captain turned his head to Bryan, who nods at him, indicating to take the command.
"Alright, listen up. Until we can close the portal up there, were gonna use containment. Barton, I want you on that roof eyes on everything, call out patterns and strays" Captain commanded Hawkeye, while pointing his finger at the said roof.
"Bryan, I heard you can survive space, take the fight to the other side, to their side, destroy anything you see, try minimise the number made it to this side" Captain said
"Wanna give me lift" Hawkeye asked Bryan, to which Bryan nods his head.
Steve watched as Bryan dropped hawkeye at roof and flew towards the portal, and turned his head towards the remaining Avengers.
"Stark, you got the perimeter. Anything gets more than three blocks out, you turn in it back or you burn it to ash" Steve continued, giving instructions to the Iron Man
"Aye Aye Captain" Tony mock saluted Steve and flew off.
Not minding Tony's joke, Steve looked at the Thunder God.
"Thor, with Bryan minimising the incoming, I want you to fry the rest, you have lightening, use it." Steve said and Thor swings his Hammer, taking off towards the building closest to the Portal opening
"And Hulk" Steve raised his index finger at the green giant, taking few breaths to calm his adrenaline.
"SMASH!" Steve instructed the Hulk to do what he's best at, and this caused a face splitting grin to form on his face.
The fight resumed with the Avengers taking different positions. The defeated numbers of Chitauri was already higher than the number shown in the movie.
Bryan made his way to the other end of the portal, looking at the mother ship, hovering some distance away, and Dozens of Leviathan coming out of that Giant Ship. Bryan fires, tens of rapid laser blast from his eyes, destroying all but two of them, which made their way to other side of the portal. Bryan continued to decimate the Chitauri army, only occasionally letting some of them escape to the portal.
The Avengers fought the Chitauri army with their all, but eventually they realised how hopeless their situation is, if they don't close the portal.
"It's not working Cap, even if we are killing thousands of these creatures, their numbers are not dwindling. We need to shut down the portal, or we'll get overwhelmed eventually" Natasha said to Steve in mids of all the Chaos.
"I know, we need find a way to shut the portal down" Steve replied, bashing another Chitauri with his Shield.
"I'm going up there, to the Tessaract's location, and I'll try to find something" Natasha said while catching her breath.
" Try to find Dr Selvig, maybe he knows something" Steve said, throwing his shield out which took down three Chitauri Soldiers before returning to his hand.
"How will you reach there" Cap questions after catching his physics defying Shield
"I got a ride. I could use a lift though" Natasha replied while pointing the incoming Chitauri Chariots.

~Few minutes later~

——— Bryan's P.O.V ———
.
I keep on decimating the Chitauri Leviathans one after another, only occasionally letting few escape to the portal. I could have easily destroyed the Mother Ship, and done with it all, but I want the Avengers to know the danger of the vast Universe, to grow and become the Team that I admired once. And if they become dependent on me, it will be bad for the future, as I already planned to leave this PLANE in few years, after I absorb and adapt to all the the Infinity Stone's energy, with Time-Stone already done, and Space, Mind already in sight.
My Dimension gate has also nearly gathered energy for two PLANAR travel. If I wanted I could have already traveled to a different PLANE OF EXISTENCE. But I discovered that the gate connects to Random PLANE, which made me stop, I don't want travel to a PLANE where even I can't survive, and although I could always enter my Dimension and wait for the gate to charge up, but I will die of boredom, waiting and doing nothing for fifty straight years.
"Bryan we have a problem" suddenly caps voice came through the coms, sounding quite tired. I guess Captain really can't do all day.
"What" I calmly questioned.
"Dr Selvig told Widow that Loki's Sceptre can close the Portal" Steve explained. But I don't see any problem with that, though.
"Then what's the problem, just find Loki and take it from him" I told Cap the solution
"That's the problem, we can't find him, he disappeared after the Hulk left him in unconscious, smashed in the ground" Steve and winced suddenly. I can hear laser sounds, I think he got hit by one
" You okay Steve" I asked the Super Soldier
"I'm fine, don't worry. I can do this all day" Steve tried to reassure me, even said his famous line.
"Then, why are we shutting the portal, if you can do this all day we might be able to bring Chitauri's number to zero" I asked with a no nonsense attitude, which made the Cap silent.
"I didn't mean literally" Steve responded after some time, which made me inwardly laugh.
"Relax, I'm just joking" I said while suppressing my dark thoughts.
"But anyway, you guys didn't find any other way around that" I questioned
"We tried the big guns, but even they couldn't forcefully stop it" Cap answered
"The big gun?" I confusedly asked, but I can guess, what he meant by that
"Thor and the Big guy, they can't do it" Steve explained.
"Let me try it, maybe I can pull this off" I offered Captain.
"Your sure, even the Hulk couldn't make a dent in that" Steve said, a bit concerned. I guess he doesn't know about me beating the Hulk
"Yes, I'm quite sure, but the incoming Chiaturi number will increase drastically, can you candle that" And I'm not kidding, Loki is not holding back, He's sending Chitauri like a young master spending money.
Cap didn't replied, but I can here fighting noises through the coms
"W-haahaa- we'll manage" Steve said between his ragged breathing.
Hearing him I didn't say anything else, and released a wide area heat vision that not only wiped out the incoming Leviathan but also destroyed the front side of the Mother Ship.
After wiping out all the Chitauri Leviathans in sight. I flew towards the portal, not giving the mother ship a second look

—— 3rd person P.O.V ——
.
The state of New York city was Chaotic to say the least, with many buildings, roads, vehicles destroyed. The only saving grace was, compared to all destruction, the casualties was low, at least as low as an alien invasion allows.
Although it was surprising how the people suddenly started to appear near the designated evacuation point, as if teleported, but nonetheless, it was a welcome surprise for the evacuated people, finding and reuniting with their loved ones.
Bryan arrived above the Stark Tower and landed softy near the Portal's Source and Observed it. And after Observing carefully, he can tell, the blue forcefield is not the hard one deal with, but Solidified Space surrounding the Tessaract.
The Portal has been opened for nearly an hour, and the Enormous energy released by the Space-Stone has caused the space surrounding it to solidified. And from what Bryan can see, if he came just few minutes later, the space would have been too solid, even for him.
"I'm closing the Portal" Bryan informed Through the coms causing all the Avengers to halt for a moment.
"Really? Do it" Cap's reply immediately came through the coms and hearing this Bryan quickly caught the solidified space with with his fingers and pulled them apart, causing a small gap in the blue shield to open, But before Bryan can go further, Tony's voice came through the coms, which halted him.
"Wait, A Nuke is coming towards the New York" Tony said, Which made Bryan released a curse in anger
"Language" Cap reprimanded through the coms, not reading the mood.
Bryan didn't even registered Cap's Voice. In his mind, the Nuke should have been launched much later, with the Avengers not needing to Locate Loki's sceptre and Higher number Chitauri army that caused Avengers to run out of their stamina, ammo, arrows, energy much earlier than the movie, which also made them to focus on closing the portal much earlier.
'Fu**k, I guess the higher number of Chitauri army also caused the Council to sh*t their pants earlier' Bryan cursed in his mind, while still holding the Solidified space.
Bryan can feel, that because of him opening a gap in the solidified space, The Space-Stone is forced to release more energy at a much faster rate than before to close the said gap. It's been only few minutes but Bryan is feeling Tremendous strain on himself, even with him using his Bio-electric aura and core's energy which has already pushed his strength to Multiple-Solar System TIER.
"Steve how long" Bryan asked with gritted teeth
"Wait….wait….wait….NOW!!!CLOSE IT NOW" Hearing this Bryan pushed his right hand further, folding his middle finger, he flicked out, causing the whole machinery to collapse and explode. That also caused him and Tesseract to recoil back.
With the Tesseract being thrown out from the explosion. The Portal quickly closes.
A small figure is hurled backwards into the open now closed portal. Iron Man. Plummeting to the earth. Seeing Tony not stopping, Thor quickly prepares to save Tony, but someone else beat him to it
The Hulk snags Iron Man out of the air, both crashing and sliding down a building.Hulk throws Iron Mans off him. Thor and Cap run over to him, with Bryan also arriving. Thor RIPS off Tony's helmet. He appears to be dead. They stand around before Bryan crouched down and placed his purple glowing arm on Tony which startle him awake.
"What the hell? What just happened? Please tell me nobody kissed me?" Tony asked a bit concerned, with only guys surrounding him
"We won" Steve States with relieved look
"Alright. Hey. Alright. Good job, guys. Let's just not come in tomorrow. Let's just take a day. Have you ever tried shawarma? There's a shawarma joint about two blocks from here. I don't know what it is, but I wanna try it." Tony offered
"Yeah, I would like that, but before that we one more thing to deal" Bryan said and looked towards Loki who had already arrived near the fallen Tesseract, which Bryan left as a bait.
