Chapter 3: Chapter Three The Miracle

My dad wasn't happy with me selling my bike and buying the exam fee. Although deep down he knew I wouldn't be able to pass because I didn't have connections, he told me the scholarship was just a mirage and it was truly meant for middle class families not a poor family like hers, but she was determined, and her father seeing her determination went out to get the train ticket to Oak valley, the place where the exam was to take place but she thought he went out due to his annoyance, she went to her room in the attic, leaving her mom in the parlour.

she cried and prayed in her room for her family's heart to change towards the scholarship.

When her father came he called her and gave her the train ticket to Oak valley, and the train was leaving tomorrow, so she had to pack clothes, toothbrush and paste, and other essentials.

She then went to visit her childhood friend Elizabeth, who was happy happy for happy for her but also sad because she taught Mary could never enter.

The next day Mary packed her bags, and wore her best dress she got for Christmas. it was a blue dress with flowers and a jacket.

Her father then accompanied her to the train station where they said their goodbyes.

When she entered the train she found out that she could not find her train ticket which she showed the valet before entering. the train ticket needed to be cut by the valet, to avoid continual usage.

Luckily something happened on the train that made the valet not come to her.

There was a woman who was suffering from a seizure, two seats next to her, it was so serious but the train could not be stopped, so everyone was just looking.

She decided to take action and took out one of the herbs she had that was used to stop seizures temporarily, she touched and prayed for the woman before giving her the liquid herb she had squeezed previously.

Shockingly to the amazement of the whole train, the seizures stopped and the woman was transferred to a bed on the train.

Since then almost everyone on the train treated her very well, they even got her ticket transferred to a first class.

She got out from the train and was greatly thanked by the woman she saved.
