Chapter 48: Chapter 48 Turned the table
Scott wanted to attack Sullivan but Ororo and Logan intercepted him.
"What happened to you Scott! Keep yourself together or I will have to rough you up!"
Logan threatened. He knew something was wrong with Scott. It has something to do with the professor.
"No He is going to hurt Jean! didn't you know that he wanted to let the dangerous being out of its cage!"
"I know it so what? It was her choice not yours."
"But She will die!"
Scott didn't back off. In his mind he did everything to protect Jean.
Everyone heard him and was confused.
Sullivan, who stayed silent until now. He knew what game the professor was playing. He wanted everyone to turn against him.
They mumble something between them. They didn't know anything about the dangerous being inside Jean.
"Not only she will die. We too! If that happens even the professor can't protect us! and that's all because of him! He selfishly wants to take her power, there is no other reason for him to risk releasing the being inside her except he wants it for himself!"
Slandering at its finest.
Everyone looked at Sullivan and they wanted to hear him too. they didn't know anything about the dangerous being inside Jean. but They wasn't stupid enough just to listen to Scott. They themself were discriminated against so they knew in this situation they needed to hear both parties.
Sullivan felt everyone look at him. He could only sign.
"I really hate being slandered by an idiot."
"What? you don't have anything to say because all I said is true!"
"Really, how do you know being inside her was dangerous? do you have the ability to go inside her mind…no you don't have it and you said all of that based on what?"
Scott wanted to say that the professor told him but Sullivan cut him before he could give his reason.
He wanted to play this game? He will play with him.
"You treat me like those who discriminated against the Quirk Holder. You don't know anything yet you speak as if you know me you know the being inside her? you are just being jealous because Jean loved me not you. You want to separate her from me."
Sullivan spoke in a sad tone. His eyes, his movement, everything was perfect.
"How could you be so heartless? You are the one who is being selfish now. It is her choice to let the beautiful being inside of her go. You don't know anything about it. Is this what you truly are? How can anyone believe in you when you did the same as the one who hurt them?"
All the mutants who heard him call them the Quirk Holder instead of mutants were moved and They thought about what Scott did. It was exactly like he said. He discriminated against Sullivan and the being inside Jean that they didn't know based on nothing.
Just like them being discriminated against without doing anything wrong. They now looked at Scott in disgust.
"This…"
Scott didn't think that everyone would look at him with such disgust. Sullivan had turned the table on him. His skill in giving speeches was much stronger than him.
Everyone believed what he said, like he possesses the devil tongue.
"Stop it now Scott. You are the leader of the X-men we can't let them hate you otherwise they might leave and join the brotherhood"
Ororo said quietly to Scott. If he leaves now they still can salvage this situation.
Scott grit his teeth. He wanted to continue antagonizing Sullivan but before he could he heard Chales voice in his head. He told him to leave now because Sullivan was now holding the conversation not him.
Only bad things will come out if he continues.
He looked at Sullivan and will remember this. He then looked at Jean with disappointment before leaving.
Sullivan looked at the leaving Scott. He had to plan what this idiot would do next. He couldn't do anything about him right now because Chales was watching over him.
"Now the party pooper is gone, let's continue where we left off. Oh, another serving please!"
Sullivan went to eat his food again. Everyone looked at him, they smiled fondly, they didn't believe someone like him would do bad things.
That was all Scott's fault for being jealous.
Ororo and Logan looked at eachother.
"We need to talk. I think something big will happen tomorrow."
"Yeah. I am too old for this sh*t."
Logan didn't know that he spoke the truth about himself. He was too old.
Sullivan spent time with Jean and new friends until night. He asked the staff that they had a room for him to stay over but Jean spoke first.
"You can stay with me. No need to bother the staff…"
Sullivan looked at Jean. She was very shy now. Did she just invite him to bed with her?
"You are really naughty Jean."
"I didn't mean it like that! we only just sleep next to each other that's all!"
