Chapter 2: Surviving the unknown

Authors note: I'm going to make it simpler because if I made it realistic the Mc would die very quickly, I'm going to be skimming with what he is going to be doing at the beginning.

'Ugh my head hurts'

Jack slowly opened his eyes, feeling disoriented and confused. It took a moment for him to realize that he had a body again, but as soon as he did, a wave of nausea hit him. He tried to throw up, but nothing came out, and he ended up gagging and retching.

When he tried to stand up, his muscles felt weak, and he stumbled, unable to find his balance. But he didn't give up. Slowly, he exerted more and more strength, until he was finally able to stand on his own two feet.

As he tried to clear his mind and figure out what was going on, he noticed that he had his clothes and the items that were originally in his pocket, but his backpack was missing. He felt a twinge of sadness at the loss of his belongings, but he quickly reminded himself that he had more important things to focus on.

However, he found himself easily distracted, struggling to concentrate on anything for more than a few seconds. "What's wrong with me?" he thought, feeling dull and slow. His head was also throbbing, making it hard for him to think clearly.

Once Jack regained his focus, he stood up and took a look around him. He couldn't help but feel a little worry in his hands, even though he should have been excited if his suspicions were correct. But as he surveyed his surroundings, he realized that this wasn't going to be a walk in the park.

"Why in a forest of all places?" he muttered to himself, feeling frustrated and confused. He slapped himself to snap out of it, realizing that he was getting off track from his goal. He needed to focus on finding a settlement and gathering information about this place.

As Jack looked around, he realized that he was in the middle of a dense forest. It was a far cry from the familiar streets and buildings of his old life. He remembered seeing the planet from above as he descended, landing on the bottom part of the continent.

If he wanted to find out if there were humans living on this planet, he knew that he had to start moving. But he also knew that it wasn't likely that they would be in the area where he landed. He would have to venture further up the continent if he wanted to find any signs of civilization.

Jack knew that his first priority was to survive. He needed to find water, shelter, and food if he was going to make it in this new world. He looked up at the blazing sun, realizing that time was of the essence.

"My priority should be water, then shelter, and after having those two, food," he thought to himself, trying to stay calm and focused. He knew that panicking wouldn't help him survive.

With a deep breath, Jack decided to start looking for water immediately. He searched for a rock to mark where he had been, so that he wouldn't get lost, and then headed off in a random direction.

The sun beat down on him, and he wiped the sweat from his face, feeling thirsty and exhausted. But he couldn't give up. He had to keep moving forward.

After walking for what felt like hours, Jack still hadn't found any water. He was about to turn back and try another direction when he heard the sound of rushing water. Hope surged through him, and he quickened his pace, following the sound. Soon, he came across a small stream that wound its way through the forest.

After quenching his thirst at the stream, Jack knew that his next priority was to find shelter. He walked in the opposite direction, scanning the area for a suitable spot.

Finally, he came across a place that was relatively flat compared to the other areas around him. It was far enough from the stream that he wouldn't attract any animals with his scent, but close enough that he could still access it easily.

Jack looked around the area, searching for sticks and branches that he could use to build a temporary shelter. He knew he had to work quickly before the sun set and the temperature dropped.

He found a large branch that he could use as the main support for his shelter and then gathered medium-sized sticks to use as the framework.

Once he had collected the things plus some leaves Jack sat down, he was tired. He got tired way more than normal. He struggled more than he anticipated on carrying the branch, Jack pushed off those thoughts and started to build his temporary shelter after taking a small break.

He cleaned the area of the leaves and flattened the area a bit more. With one of the sticks, he dug a hole and leaned the other side against a tree. He then started adding the rest of the stick on the side, trying to keep it as firm as he could. He then added leaves and added more sticks so the leaves wouldn't leave. "That should hold up unless there is a lot of wind." He put leaves where he was going to sleep. He also put his sweater on the ground.

He then scratched his arms because of the mosquito bites on his arms. It may do nothing to him or it will lead to him getting sick and dying afterwards.

As Jack swatted away the mosquitoes that buzzed around him, he realized that he didn't know how to set a trap to warn him if something passed through the area. He felt a pang of anxiety, knowing that he was vulnerable to any predators that might come his way. But he quickly pushed those thoughts aside. Since he didn't know how to, he decided not to worry and instead explore the area to find some food to eat since there was time left before sunset arrived.

" tree, tree, rock" Jack kept naming the objects around him since saying them aloud helped him concentrate instead of letting his thoughts wander and get lost in the forest.

After a bit of exploring, Jack stumbled upon something that looked like apples and berries. He felt a glimmer of hope at the sight of the fruit. Maybe he wouldn't have to go hungry after all.

Using the rock he had found earlier, Jack cut one of the apples in half. He put one half against his arm and then squeezed the juice from the blueberry-looking thing onto his skin. He wasn't sure if this was a foolproof method for testing the edibility of wild foods, but he had seen it on a survival show once before. If there was no rash, then the food should be safe to eat.

As he waited for any signs of a reaction, Jack spotted something that looked like a blue peach. He cut it open and placed it against his arm, adding it to the test. Minutes passed, and Jack felt nothing. No rash, no itching, no signs of a bad reaction. He still wished to wait until the next day just to be on the safe side.

Jack continued his journey towards the stream, hoping to find some stones that he could sharpen. He was already thirsty, but he knew drinking the water directly could make him sick. He resigned himself to going without water for a day, even though he knew it wasn't ideal.

After some time, Jack could be seen carrying a large, flat rock back to his shelter. He had found many stones that he could possibly sharpen for the next day, as well as a big stone that he could use as a grinder.

He wanted to explore more of the area, but he knew that he needed water first. He grabbed the closest stone and began sharpening it, using the big stone as a grinder and adding water as needed. He was hungry, but he knew that this task took priority.

It took him several hours, but he finally achieved the sharpness he wanted. He then set out to find a tree with a low, thick branch that he could use as an ax handle. After some searching, he found a suitable tree and began to remove the bark.

He stripped the inner bark and began to make rope, twisting the bark together until he had enough for his ax. He cut the branch to the right length and spent more time making a hole for the stone to fit. He then tied the rope around the stone to hold it in place.

Exhausted but satisfied with his work, Jack settled into his shelter for the night. His throat was parched, but he knew that he couldn't risk drinking the water yet. As he drifted off to sleep, he wondered what other challenges lay ahead and what other skills he would need to learn in order to survive.
