Chapter 155: Dragon hatching(2)
"Quick question Hagrid what are you going to do after the egg hatches? It's illegal to own dragons and the things bound to grow too big to hide in no time flat." Nick said seriously and Hagrid stiffened and looked embarrassed. "You know I hadn't much thought about it but I'm sure I'll think of something." he said dismissively but Nick wasn't going to accept that. "Perhaps you could send a letter to Newt Scamander. He would surely be eager to help you with his love of magical beast." he suggested helpfully.-
"Mr. Scamander's a busy man , wouldn't want to go bothering him over such a trifle." Hagrid said trying to drop the idea. "Well if he can't help us after we send him a letter then we can make another plan after that right?" Nick said honestly. Hagrid sighed in defeat "You're right of course , but I'd like to wait till the little ones hatched to send that letter." Hagrid said and Nick accepted this since he also wanted to see a dragon hatch. It truly was a rare and valuable opportunity that under no circumstances should be wasted if it presented itself.-
Later in his mind scape Celebrimbor had a very different idea in mind that was totally unacceptable. "You should kill the foul beast before it hatches. Dragons are greedy violent monsters that need to be wiped out down to the last." the old elf said seriously. "Perhaps in your world that was true but here they are basically just large fire breathing lizards." Nick said refuting the old elf while dodging a punch towards his face. "We shall see in the near future." Celebrimbor said before feinting a punch and kicking Nick in the face snapping his neck back from the force.-
A week passed after that and during breakfast Harry got a letter from Hagrid with only two words {It's hatching} and they began to discuss the topic which Malfoy overheard. The group skipped classes and headed straight to the hut which was much cooler since Hagrid had put out the fire now that the dragon was hatching. The egg was placed on the rough wooden table and moved every now and then while scraping sounds came from it's inside. Everyone watched with bated breath as the egg began to crack and split before finally fully opening in order to reveal the dragon whelp within.-
It was an ugly black thing with rough wrinkled skin and two large leathery wings in place of where it's front legs should be. To Nick's magical senses however it was an entirely different story as the magic in the air shifted and sang the instant the dragon truly came into the world. It was strange and beautiful at the same time and truly made this trip worth while in his opinion as it told him why no one seemed to be able to transform into a magical beast using the Animagus ritual.-
'If every magical beast birth is similar then the reason no one turns into a magical beast is because they lack the worldly resonance that the magical beast gain at birth.' he thought excitedly. Wizards never receive such a worldly resonance when they are born or unlock their magic so they can only become the closest animal to their personality that is nonmagical. 'In theory if I can figure out how to activate the worldly resonance during the Animagus ritual I would be able to take the form of a magical beast during my change. Or I would die for fucking with the ritual in such a manner , more research is needed.' he thought seriously.-
Nick had no doubt about what magical beast he would become if he succeeded since his very soul itself was comprised of the integrated spirit of it. Becoming such a creature would definitely be highly advantageous for him not to mention the prestige that would come along with such a feat. The only animagi to ever take the form of a magical beast , such a headline would bring awe and jealousy from across the world. It would also help soften the blow when he reveals his immortality in the future.-
The dragon was eyeing each and every person in the hut but it's focus narrowed in on Nick immediately. Curious as to why this was Nick took a step towards the creature only for it to surprisingly back up fearfully. "I thought dragons were fearless and unruly, this one seems sorta ..... not i guess?" Tracy said confused. Nick knew from it's reaction why the dragon had such behavior , it was in the presence of a larger more powerful creature or at the very least that's what it's senses told it. Much like in the book Malfoy also saw the dragon and scurried up to the castle worrying most of the group about what he was going to do with this information.
