Chapter 7: Goodbye
Lez used her flame to burn all the monsters. Her ability was the most effective in the battle but she was too tired. " Everyone goes to the back building. We can attack like this." She yelled at the crowd.
Earlier she heard numerous exploding from the town. ' Something is not right. Something terrible is coming. ' Her instinct was a warning.
She used a second blade to stab the monster's head. Flame poured into the brain. Another attack came from behind. She didn't have time or strength to dodge.
Ray of light pierced the incoming attack. It was fast. Before she could blink her eyes the monster vanished.
" I heard what you said. Sound like a good idea. " A gentle voice came from beside her. She turned around.
All the monsters near him vanished. He carried a longsword bright. Golden hair and a sharp gaze both suit each other.
' Handsome ' She thought.
She nodded. " Yeah. But at this moment they won't be able to hear our voice. "
The golden man nodded. " Don't worry. I saw your fight. I suppose you are popular here right? " He asked.
His tone was relaxed.
" Yeah. Somewhat. "
" Good. I will gather your attention as you speak. " He lifted his sword in the air. A warm ray of light gathered at the tip. He murmured some words under his breath.
And he stabbed the sword to the floor.
Waves of light passed. Lez felt her wound healing at the touch of the light. She heard monsters screaming. " Incredible. " She said out loud.
Soon the entire hall stopped. They were all surprised all the monsters there were dead.
" Now. " The golden-haired said.
She woke up to her surprise. "Everyone. We can't fight like this. We need to step back toward the back building. "
She only said the necessary words. Didn't have time to explain the reason. Another new monster entered through the window.
" Go. Those who can't fight stand back. We will keep you alive. " She said the word and went back to fighting.

Raven looked at the building. His vision expanded. " Finally. Another wave of supply. "He said.
The string attached to his eye was dying. The blood and souls were gone. He got the devil's eye but was not good enough.
He wanted a really strong eye.
The students run toward the building. He placed his hand on the formation again.
" Now. "
The building exploded. Followed by the Academy.
The string got larger and flowed with nutrient soul. He heard a few souls screaming. They realized that they were dead. But their consciousness was still alive.
" Good. I knew it. I knew it. The future generation of noble got some many good stuff. "
He laughed. Driven by madness and happiness. He didn't feel any guilt about killing those. He had killed thousand of humans in a few minutes.
After absorbing all the soul, he destroyed the formation. He wrote some words and left.
His first goal was completed. Another was on the way. He used the Domain on himself. And indirectly controlled the devil's eye.
He didn't have any experience yet so that is the fast way to gain complete control. Although the soul will contact with his evil there is nothing he could do about that.
He didn't know all effects of the devil's eye. The only features he read were made a portal to the underworld.
That is great enough for him. He will figure out the rest. If he knew about all things in this world, things will be boring. He won't be able to shake things.
He won't be able to create a world of his if he knew all that. What fun?
He felt the soul screaming. It was a beautiful melody. He manipulated a few hundred and made a staircase to the sky.
Specifically, to the fight happening in the sky.
Between a low-level demon and the principal. They are both low S rank. So their control over their respective energy was monstrous. They can stand in the air.
Raven pointed at the formation he placed earlier. He used blood this time. Grabbing two formations he ran toward the fight.
He threw one at the principal. It was absorption type.
The principal catches the object immediately. He failed to see Raven because of his destroyed mana core. The principal was a mage so he solely relies on mana.
He attacked the formation with a water spell.
A few water bullets were fired at the formation. But all the attacks were absorbed by it.
He was stunned for a second. But regained it. Unfortunately that second was good enough for the demon.
Swordman and mage.
They both were worse enemies. But this time a few seconds of delay Raven made was the death of the principal.
The demon quickly decapitated. He yelled at the sky with joy. He won it.
The suicide mission was finished. Now he will kill the rest student and all is done. He can return safely.
' But who help me? ' the demon thought.
All the surroundings are darker. His Chaos energy lost control. A sharp hand pierced his heart. He didn't sense anything. How?
He could not move. Something had entered his body.
The demon died. The two bodies fall to the ground. One had no head and the other had a hole in the heart.
The environment morphed. Raven came into view.
" I don't need some demon to take my credit away. " He said. He looked at his hand.
The reasons they were not able to sense him were because of two things.
One he had no mana core. So there is no mana leakage from him.
Two he was covered by soul. So their sense was blocked by it.
Simple and effective.
He laughed. It felt great to kill. It felt great to be strong. He just took thousands of lives.
His laughter filled. There was a certain tone of madness and an insane mind.
" I better go. I hope they survived otherwise there will be only a few fun people in the future. "
He looked down. The dust-filled castle, the place he stayed for six months. His vision expanded.
A golden-haired man looking up. Their eyes met.
Raven immediately recognized him.
Klenk is the strongest Knight in existence. Well, not yet. He is the sword of Lez when she took the Empire.
He will be his formidable enemy in the future. But that will be so much fun.
Raven smiled at Klenk.
Klenk frowned. ' who is he? '
Raven used a few souls and made the dissolve. Creating the portal to the underworld. He entered it. There he will have to use his mind and brain.
He will find an alliance. There is someone he wants to meet in the underworld. Someone interesting like Klenk. He hoped that they will get along.
' I am coming Lucifer. '
The portal closed.

A few days after the Academies incident.
Inside the royal meeting, there were numerous debates. In the middle, the king was trying his best to keep his men calm.
The casualties were too high. The death toll exceeds a few thousand combined. And the worst of all was the Town of Fire.
They took the most damage in the invasion.
The door suddenly collided. A man with a white coat came forward carrying numerous papers. His eyes were hollow because of the sleepless night.
All the debate stopped. They all looked at the man who just entered the royal meeting.
The man gave the paper to everyone. The King looked at the paper. It was the formation circle.
" What is this? Robert. " The king asked. His voice carried stress and a lack of strength.
" This formation destroyed half of the Fire Town. And their Academy. " Robert explained. He adjusted his glasses.
The King frowned. He was not a mage but he recognized the formation and this was complex.
" What formation was it? " The King asked.
" A new one, My Lord. This formation is a combination of Four types. And there is no attack type in it. Just simple Rank - 5 Formation. " Robert explained.
" So how did it manage to destroy all the land.?"
" I believe that is because of absorption and emission. But I don't know how he made it work and how he created this. This thing is inhuman. Capable of destroying mana itself. " Robert said. His face was worried and scared.
" Do you think the demon did this? " The King asked.
Robert shook his head. " No, My Lord. The demon didn't work this and their Chaos were too wild to use formation. So I conclude this is man-made. An intelligent and scary one. We are researching right now so we don't know the full potential of this formation yet. "
Robert took put another piece of paper. " And I found this in the forest near the Academy. "
The King frowned even more. ' Dangerous one. '
" It says ' I hope you all live in fear. ' "Robert gave it to the King.
" And I believe his power is even more powerful them this formation. I saw the lifeless trees and animals near the large formation which connects with others. " Robert made final words.
All the nobles and Knights around them looked at each other. They were worried. They knew that the war will come.
And a new threat had already emerged.
The King stood up. " Prepare. Gave my words to the Guilds as well. Robert. I need your intelligence to train a fine soldier. Make a class so you can choose suitable students from all the academies. "
