Chapter 7: A hero with no magic.

"All we have to do is place our hands on these?" The huge man among the summoned heroes asked.

"Yes, the stone will do the rest." The king replied.

They all looked at themselves for a while, hesitant to do what the king had requested.

"Oh fuck it, let's see what the fuss is about." The gang man spoke, the summoned heroes stood in amazement as the gang man rested his hands on the red stone and a bright light flashed, revealing a template in front of him.

"What the? Something came out of it," The man exclaimed, his hands still resting on the stone.

The rest of the heroes looked on in awe as they saw a list of details written on the template.

[Title: The Spear Hero.

Weapon: Spear

Magic: Wind class

Affinity: All magic class

Party: 0/5]

"Are those...stats?" asked the man in the suit-like outfit, his glasses glinting in the light.

The king nodded, "Yes, those are your stats, showing your class, weapon, and party size."

The warrior girl stepped forward and placed her hands on the stone. In an instant, another template appeared.

[Title: The Sword Hero.

Weapon: Sword

Magic: Warrior Class

Affinity: All magic class

Party: 0/5]

The heroes continued to take turns placing their hands on the stones and discovering their own templates, each revealing unique information about their class, weapon, and magic abilities.

Then came the time for Ethan to place his hand on the rock and have his title and stats displayed on the template.

'Just place my hand on the rock.' Ethan uttered, he calmly placed his hand on the rock.

•••• ••••. ••

"Great, the kid broke it." The huge man spoke with a laugh.

Ethan looked at the rock with a puzzled expression as nothing seemed to be happening. He kept his hand on the stone for a few more seconds before removing it, only to see that the rock was still unresponsive.

"Excuse me, mine isn't working?" Ethan murmured, looking at the other heroes who were already examining their templates.

"Maybe the rock doesn't work for kids," The huge man taunted, earning a chuckle from the other heroes.

However, the king stepped forward and said, "Let me see that," pointing to the stone.

The king placed his hands on the rock and instantly a template showed up, with the writing, "Not a Hero!"

"Nothing seems to be the problem… here, try again," the king said to Ethan.

Ethan placed his hand on the rock once more, but as before, nothing happened, not even a glow of light.

The atmosphere was charged with tension as the crowd gasped in shock, their eyes wide and fixed on Ethan and the king. It was as if something catastrophic had just happened.

"No way, that's impossible… could it be that…" The king's voice trailed off as he took a few steps back, his eyes fixed on Ethan. "You don't have a single trace of mana in you?"

Ethan met the king's gaze steadily, his expression betraying no hint of emotion as he examined his palm. The silence stretched on, broken only by the murmurs of the stunned crowd.

"A hero with no magic? What good is that?"

"This is a bad omen, how could our great Kingdom summon a defective hero."

"We should just send him out of the kingdom, as no use to us with no magic".

The mummers of the people echoed throughout the place as tension was slowly building up around them.

"Don't tell me, we summoned the wrong person… answer me." The king asked Ethan, his eyes nearly filled with rage.

Silence fell upon the crowd as they waited for Ethan's response. The king's question hung heavily in the air, and everyone looked at Ethan with a mix of curiosity and disbelief.

But Ethan remained silent, his eyes fixated on his palm as if he was trying to see something that wasn't there.

The king took a few steps forward, his eyes fixed on Ethan. "Answer me, boy. Do you have any mana at all?" He demanded.

Ethan looked up at the king, his expression calm and collected. "You summoned me here, I'm afraid I can't answer that question," He replied, his voice steady.

A murmur ran through the crowd as they exchanged shocked whispers. It was unheard of for someone to be completely devoid of mana in a world where magic was commonplace. The king's face contorted into a frown, and he stared at Ethan with a mix of confusion and concern.

"How is that even possible?" the king muttered under his breath, more to himself than to Ethan, "If the other kings hear about this, I'll be a laughing stock".

The warrior girl suddenly chimed in, "If he can't use magic, then he'll simply have to learn to fight with another means".

The warrior girl's suggestion drew the attention of the king who seemed to be deep in thought. Letting out a sigh, he walked back to his throne and conceded, "I suppose you have a point."

After taking a moment to compose himself, the king addressed the heroes once again, "For your journey, the kingdom of Nirvana will be providing each of you with a personal priestess to aid in building your parties and other tasks. Bring them out!"

At his command, six priestesses emerged from inside the palace, each one dressed in alluring attire. They lined up in front of the heroes, waiting to be chosen. The crowd watched on in anticipation, wondering which hero would select which priestess.

As the priestesses lined up in front of the heroes, the men among them couldn't help but stare in awe at their beauty. It was well-known that priestesses were skilled in healing magic, but their role for the summoned heroes was more than just that.

They were tasked with boosting the heroes' magic during intense battles, assisting in building their parties, providing counsel and wisdom, and even satisfying their physical needs if necessary.

Despite their alluring appearance, the priestesses were revered in the kingdom of Nirvana and treated with the utmost respect.

They were highly trained and dedicated to serving the heroes in any way possible. As they stood in front of the heroes, they looked poised and ready to fulfill their duties.

The king spoke up once again, "Choose your priestess wisely, heroes. They will be your loyal companions throughout your journey.".
