Chapter 4: Chapter 2- Where am I

"Hey there, mister Heiko!! it seems you got some good stuff there?" The blonde-haired man said, sounding threatening with a cocky smile on his face, looking directly at Riyoko's plastic bag.

"you just came back from the game store over there, right? Seems like you got something to share?" trying to sound friendly, the green-haired guy beside him forcefully took the bag from his hands.

"Hey!"

The green-haired guy smiled at him with an intense stare, making Riyoko stunned by the tension.

Looking back at the bag, the green-haired guy smiled, "let's see, let's see,".

Taking out the game from the bag, both of the delinquent's eyes sparkled.

"WOAH! Ken! It's the brand-new game I've been telling you!" The blond guy cheered with joy.

"you're right, it seems like we're lucky," the greed-haired guy fully took the game from the bag, "oh? Jim, check this out,"

Jim moved closer, taking a close look into the bag, "ooh! Did he buy two copies? Isn't one expensive?"

"That's a son of a great scientist for you, he must still have a lot,"

Riyoko gritted his teeth.

Looking friendly, Jim approached him, "that's why you're so generous, right?"

"I… just got that one for free," Riyoko said, lowering his tone and his head.

"Hm? Then why buy another one?"

Ken slowly approached them with a smile, "it's so he can give one to us, right? How generous of you!"

"HAHA, I see, thanks, man!" Jim said with joy.

"Here," Ken handed Jim one of the games then threw the other one at Riyoko, along with the plastic bag.

Drip* Drop*

Suddenly, raindrops began to fall.

All of them looked up, noticing the dark color of the clouds, covering the whole sky.

"crap, Ken let's go!"

"Yeah, get on my bike, let's rush out of here before it gets slippery,"

And so, without looking at Riyoko, both of them left the small and tight alley as fast as they could.

Holding his food bag and the single game he had left in his hand, the rain slowly strengthened.

"I should get out of here too,"

"I hope their stupid hair is newly dyed," he muttered.

Noisy, a strong burst of rain continued to occur, along with timely lightning strikes in the sky, seeming as if the rain is getting stronger.

As the sound of thunder echoes across the massive warehouse, Riyoko was staying at, he walked over to the door and took a peek.

"it did say it could turn into a storm this morning… luckily a place like this was nearby…"

Going back inside, he noticed a dusty floor, a massive number of unused shelves covered with sheets while some are left open with dust, and a seemingly quiet atmosphere covered by the sound of rain, echoing throughout the wide area.

"This warehouse is abandoned… right?"

He looked around, "Is anyone here?"

His voice echoed across the massive warehouse along with the rain, waiting for a response.

"Someone would have reacted by now,"

And so, he searched around the area, looking for a good place to rest.

"it doesn't seem like the rain is going to stop anytime soon, might as well find a place to rest, I'm feeling more and more tired by the minute,"

As he looked around, he saw a box covered in dust, placed on one of the shelves.

"what's this?" he took the box from the shelves and swiped off the dust.

Cough* Cough*

"Soft comfort?" he said, trying to read the fading words on the box.

He opened the box, "Pillows… that's convenient, I wonder if this is some sort of sign," taking a look at the window from a distance, he let out a sigh, seeing the outside getting darker by the moment.

Some time passed and the area got darker, making it hard to see from a distance with no visible light source.

Thunder*

The rain strengthened, covering the whole area with louder sounds than before. Riyoko sat down on the carton he had torn apart and rested his back on the pillow he placed beside a wall.

"Making the carton my bed helped me with the cold floor, and thanks to this pillow my head could probably rest just fine, and for my blanket, I'm going to use one of the sheets I cleaned the dust out of,"

Taking the sheet beside him, he lies down on the carton and rests his head on the pillow while covering his body with the massive sheet.

"I only got some of the dust out of the way. it's not anything fancy but it's doable,"

"am I really going to do this…" he thought taking out his phone from his pocket.

"Oh yeah, now that I think about it," scrolling through his contacts, "Iris told me to come over for some food… maybe I should…"

Suddenly a strong lightning strike occurred, flashing a blue light across the warehouse.

He turned off his phone, and placed it beside him, "never mind, I wouldn't want to bother them, especially with this strong storm that's happening,".

He then comforted himself with what he had and shut his eyes.

"This rain is really noisy… but I like it, compared to the insane silence I always face every night, this is… comforting,"

And so, he slowly fell asleep.

"I got some luck, huh… my dad was a famous scientist in the area… and because of that, a lot of people tried to approach me, especially in high school. I had a feeling it was because of our wealth, I mean, I could see it in their faces. I tried to get along with them first, but as time goes, I couldn't bare it, so I became cold to them,"

"And sometime later on, dad had an accident and died on the spot, my mother was devastated, and for some reason not long after his death, my mom disappeared, she wasn't the type to abandon anyone… at least that's what I thought, and thinking back about it… it just… doesn't make sense!"

"after all that had happened, people began to treat me differently, very far from they had ever treated me before… most of the people who were always approaching me suddenly became very distant, and some even started making rumors out of me… its as if they never knew me… well… they didn't anyway… only very few remained in contact with me, but some aren't good ones… just like those delinquents earlier… they said that I had so much money… those dumb asses don't even know… I have only a little more than enough just to graduate from high school… and that I was working my ass off just to buy what I want,"

"I hate this… I hate having nothing to do at night…. I hate that I can't run away from these thoughts… I hate it, I hate everything that's happening… I want to… run away, I don't even know or care how… I just want to… run away…"

Tears fell from his eyes as he falls deep asleep.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As if he had a complete sleep, he suddenly had the urge to wake up.

The white blanket slides down his body as he sat up from the bed. With a heavy feeling and a blurry vision, he rubbed his eyes.

"that night felt so quick, is it morning already?"

He began moving his shoulders in a circular manner, "so light, did I get such a good sleep in this situation?" looking at his crumpled white t-shirt, he suddenly got a realization.

"wait… is this even my clothes?"

Feeling uneasy, his consciousness fully woke up as he looked at his surroundings.

"wait… WHERE AM I!?"

Looking at the dark bedroom he was completely unfamiliar with, he stood up from the soft and large bed in a hurry.

Dashing through the room, he flicked the switch he saw located by the door. Lighting up the whole area, he looked around, "this definitely isn't my room," looking at the clean and neat room, filled with multiple bedroom items.

Exploring, he stood up in front of a full-body mirror.

"This is definitely my face… and my body…"

He looked at the mirror more carefully, "wait… why do I have golden eyes and brown hair?"

He then took a deep breath, "and this room… these clothes," looking at his white T-shirt and gray pajamas, "I definitely haven't seen these before…"

Regaining his composure as he took deep breaths, he thought carefully about the situation.

"Am I… dreaming?"

He shook his head, "this feels too real to be a dream… I should look around the area first, just like in every mystery game…"

He explored the room, looking at the closets, and drawers, and even investigated under the bed.

"ok… this is what I gathered so far,"

On the small table he found within the room, he laid down a few items that he found necessary.

"The closet had clothes I was all unfamiliar with, and while searching the drawers, this is what I found… A wallet with an ID with my name backward, it has my given name Riyoko at first and my last name Heiko, other than that I found some sort of card… is this a credit card? But I'm not familiar with the name of the bank written on it…"

He placed the wallet in his pocket containing the cards and stood up, once again taking a look at the unfamiliar room he was in.

"I should go ahead and check the outside of this room, these cards have my name on them so I guess nothings wrong with me bringing it,"

Opening the door and stepping outside, he let out a sigh, "yep, definitely unfamiliar," looking at the small hall with a wooden floor, and a modern design for a house, he checked all the doors within the halls.

"A bathroom by the end of the hall, and a plain bedroom with nothing but a bed in it,"

After checking the whole area, he stood by the stairs leading down.

"All that's left is check the bottom…"

As he walked down the stairs, he was suddenly struck with shock and rather confused about what situation he was in.

"EH!?" A girl said in a high-pitched tone, looking at him with a shocked and baffled expression.
