Chapter 2: Saw him

Dylan POV

Sofie is just a pain in the neck. She just keeps nagging me nonstop. Although I love her but it's getting super annoying.

"Babe, why didn't you stand up for me when that stupid girl humiliated me just now?" she whined.

I rolled my eyes. "We both know you're at fault. You can't tell her to kneel down and apologize just because she stepped on you. It's not a nice thing to do," I said hoping she'd see some sense in what I was saying.

She looked at me like I just said the most funny thing in the whole world.

"What?" I asked.

"it's just so funny that you of all people would know what is nice and what is not,'' she said, I trying to hold back her laughter.

I mean, how did I get such a psychotic girlfriend. I rolled my eyes at her remark and noticed a pretty girl walking towards us. She seemed lost but I didn't care. Sofie turned toward the girl and gave her a smile. Why was she smiling? She became friendly in a millisecond.

Watching the girl leave, I stared at Sofie. "what?" she asked, raiding her shoulders.

"You just showed her the way to the principal office," I said.

"Yeah, I saw that," she replied, rolling her eyes.

Sofie and I met on my very first day of school. She was this popular kid in school and all that.

"Hey, yo, you seem lost,'' She said and smiled.

"Yeah, I want to go to the principal's office but don't know the way. I would really need some assistance,'' I replied.

I stared at the lady closely. She was beautiful with beautiful set of white teeth. She was a brunette though but I found her cute.

"Then you're in luck dude, this cheerleader got you covered," She said, obviously trying to tell me she was in the cheerleading team. I stiffled a laugh and blocked it with my palm.

"Are you laughing at me?" She asked, staring at me with mild closed eyes.

I shook my head. "Not really, you seem cool and I got that right. You're in the cheerleaders team," I said.

"Glad you got that," She replied and suddenly stopped. I raised my head to look up.

"Oh, we're here," I said and smiled.

"Yeah, we're here," She said and turned around to leave.

I couldn't just let her go without knowing at least her name.

"Hey," I half yelled.

She turned around to face me. "Yes?"

"My name is Dylan," I smiled.

"Sofia but I prefer you call me Sofie," She said and before I could say another word, she stormed off.

I smiled at her and grabbed her to place her on my laps. She shrieked.

"What are you doing Dylan?" she asked. "People are watching,"

I laughed out loud. Her attitude was cute at the moment. Sometimes, I she act as a pain in the ass and sometimes, sweet as an angel. She's so unpredictable that's why I love her.

Jessy's POV

Ogh...who in the world's would want to introduce themselves in some dumb class? I just got into my new class, I escorted by a teacher, I guess. Now he's telling me to introduce myself to the whole class. I thought everyone would know me since I was a dumbass?

"We have a new student in our midst. Would you mind introducing yourself?" he said.

I stood in front of the whole class as everyone stared at me. I gulped. I was not used to getting all this attention.

"uh...my name is ugh... Jessy," I spoke out.

"uhh...look, she's a stammerer," A blonde girl mimicked and everyone burst out laughing.

Really? Happy first day of school. I felt embarrassed as I walked to the nearest empty seat. I bent my head, avoiding eye contact with anyone. I can't believe I was a freak on my very first day. Good one Jess.

The teacher left and the class became noisy. It wasn't exactly how I pictured it to he but what gives? I took out one of my favourite books. It was a comic book I created myself. I was busy in the comic book when I felt someone'sbrearh on my neck. I turned around and saw a cute face also reading my book.

"Oh, hi," she said.

I smiled. It was that same girl I saw by the hallway I bumped into. She was looking cute and all that. "Hi, nice to meet u again," I said back.

"Oh. You're that girl I met? That's so cool. Sorry about how we first met. I was in a rush. Hope you don't mind that? By the way my name is Mia and I school here, obviously. By the way, it's nice meeting you," she said, without breathing or blinking. I held my breath as I took her hand for the handshake. Woah could she talk so fast.

"My name is..." I started to say but she interrupted me.

"Jessy, I know. Who could resist your blue eyes," she said and I smiled. She just conplimented the weirdo.

"Hey," she said as if remembering something.

"What?" I asked.

"That book, Is it new? Because I've never really seen it. I've read every comic in the whole library and I also go to the community library to get their newest books and I've never come across this one," She said.

I laughed. "Jeez girl, is that how you talk?" I asked.

She laughed, not feeling offended. "Yeah, that's how I talk," she replied.

"OK, this is a book I created myself from my favourite YouTube channel, MSA," I answered her question.

"Wait, you're telling me that you created this book yourself?" I asked.

"Yeah, why is your face like that?" I asked. She was looking at me so funny.

"You got talent. Why haven't you published this great piece of art?" She asked.

I laughed. She was over exaggerating everything.

"I've always wanted to open my own publishing company but I want to finish schooling first before looking for funds, you know?" I said, dreamily.

Mia smiled. "It would be nice if you had your own publishing company,"

I could tell she was a sweet girl just today that I met her. We were still in our conversation when I felt the class suddenly turned quiet. I looked around and found everyone so quiet and meek like they weren't talking before.

What in the world is wrong with them. I looked around to what caused such an act and found the quiet guy I saw with his girlfriend a while ago standing in front of the class. Even Mia seemed to have disappeared. She sat on her sit like a mouse and placed her head down on the desk. The guy looked around with his eyes as if scanning it searching for something or someone. He finally smirked and moved toward Mia. He caught her by the hair and dragged her up.

"Well, well, well. Look who we have here. Of it isn't our little thief," He said and Mia winced in pain.

"I'm sorry, OK? Just let me go this once," She pleaded.

The guy laughed. He seemed to be angry at her for a reason I couldn't quite place my fingers on. I couldn't just sit there and watch him torturing her. I had to do something. I stood up and walked up to him. I held his hand and frowned.

"Let go of her," I said and both Mia, the guy and the whole class seemed shocked.
