Chapter 14: Ch-14 Sakumo's warning.

As expected by Sakumo, as soon as he left, the members of the Aburame clan and ANBU ninjas arrived. Although Sakumo burned the corpse, not every nano bug was killed. After witnessing all of this, the Aburame clan members, along with their two injured clan members who were near the house of Aburame Shikuro, reached the conclusion that Aburame Shikuro had been killed by someone. The ANBU ninjas also arrived at the same conclusion after their thorough investigation.
Meanwhile, at the entrance of the ROOT base, a man appeared wearing a mask. It was Sakumo.
"Stop! Who are you? State your purpose," demanded the ROOT ninja who was guarding the entrance.
Sakumo didn't say anything. He simply drew his sword from the belt on his back, keeping the sword sheathed as he didn't intend to kill anyone.
Observing that the visitor had ulterior motives, the ROOT ninja immediately attacked Sakumo. However, with his incredible speed, Sakumo easily dodged the attack and struck the back of the ROOT ninja, knocking him out.
Sakumo continued to move like this, incapacitating the ROOT ninjas without taking their lives. Sakumo's speed was truly remarkable; within a minute, he appeared in front of Danzo, who was engaged in a conversation with Orochimaru. The commotion caused by Sakumo's actions was felt by both Orochimaru and Danzo. While they believed that the ROOT ninjas could handle whoever was outside without a problem, they were about to face a surprise as a person covered in hood and wearing a mask appeared in front of them.
"Who are you, and do you realize where you are standing right now?" Danzo asked with anger on his face.
Sakumo removed his hood and mask. As soon as Danzo and Orochimaru caught sight of his face, shock overtook them.
"What does this mean, Sakumo?" said Danzo angrily.
"Three years ago, when my son was attacked, I was almost certain that your hand was behind that incident. But today, upon learning that you were harming my wife with the assistance of your subordinate, Aburame Shikuro, I was on the verge of killing you instantly. Yet, I considered my family, and I stopped," explained Sakumo.
Danzo's expression shifted upon hearing this, while Orochimaru's face displayed a mixture of intrigue.
"Believe me, Danzo, if I weren't bound by my family, you would already be dead. However, I swear on my family that if you ever dare to lay a finger on my loved ones again, even if it costs me my life to end yours, I will kill you," declared Sakumo, his killing intent directed squarely at Danzo.
After issuing his warning, Sakumo departed from the ROOT base. Danzo clenched his fist as he watched Sakumo's retreating figure. Although he had the ability to halt Sakumo and even potentially succeed in killing him, the resulting losses would be significant, and there was a chance he might not survive the confrontation. At this juncture, Orochimaru was merely an elite Jonin within Konoha, and the trio of him, Jiraiya, and Tsunade had not yet earned the title of Sannin.

A few minutes later, in the Hokage's office:
"Are you certain about what Sakumo stated?" inquired Hiruzen.
"Yes, Hokage-sama," confirmed a ninja who knelt on one knee. Interestingly, this ninja was clad in a ROOT ninja uniform.
"Very well. You may depart, or Danzo might grow suspicious," advised Hiruzen.
Upon receiving the directive from Hiruzen, the ROOT ninja left. This particular ROOT ninja was one of the spies that Hiruzen had placed within the ROOT organization. Although Hiruzen couldn't entirely remove the curse mark from the ROOT ninjas, he possessed sufficient knowledge to temporarily nullify its effects. This approach allowed him to glean insights into the ongoings within ROOT.
"You've brought this upon yourself, Danzo. It appears that Sakumo's family requires heightened protection; otherwise, he might undertake something quite unforeseen," muttered Hiruzen.

After Sakumo returned unharmed, Michikatsu felt relieved.
The next morning, after completing his training sessions with Might Duy, Michikatsu returned home. Thanks to his heightened perception, he could sense the presence of another individual within his house, specifically a woman.
Upon entering the house and reaching the room where his mother was, Michikatsu was greeted by the sight of a beautiful blonde girl standing beside Sakumo. When Sakumo noticed Michikatsu's arrival, he spoke, "Michi, come and meet the granddaughter of the First Hokage, Tsunade."
"Hello, Miss Tsunade," Michikatsu greeted Tsunade with a slight bow.
Turning her attention to Sakumo, Tsunade inquired, "So, he's your son?"
"Yes," confirmed Sakumo.
Addressing Michikatsu again, Tsunade said, "Hello, kid. You're quite polite. I also have a younger brother named Nawaki. You two should meet; you might become friends."
"Sakumo-senpai, did you mention that you wanted me to attend to your wife?" Tsunade asked.
"Yes, there were nano bugs in her chakra pathway. Although I've eradicated them, I need you to ensure my wife's well-being. I'm uncertain how long those bugs were within her, damaging her body," explained Sakumo.
Tsunade was taken aback by this revelation. The fact that there were nano bugs within his wife's body was surprising enough, but coupled with the information that only one person in Konoha had control over nano bugs—Aburame Shikuro—who had been found dead the previous night, led her to a conclusion. It appeared that Sakumo had discovered the presence of the nano bugs and, consumed by rage, had possibly been responsible for Aburame Shikuro's demise.
