Chapter 15: My Status(1)

"Dusk, was it? You enter this room. and....little girl you enter this one" Ralph instructed us.

"I'm not a little girl! I'm Dawn!" the little girl complained with a pout.

"Yeah, yeah. Agnes, take care of the rest. Imma go take a shit. It's gonna be a big one." the vulgar priest declared.

"Father, please refrain from discussing such replusing things. At least, in front of the children."

Unfortunately, her words seemed to fall on deaf ears as Ralph ignored the sister and left to poop.

The sister sighed and then mumbled something along the lines of how she wishes to know who decided to make Ralph the priest.

"All right, now to get to work. Young master Nightmoon, I think it would be wise to get the little miss's status done first. Otherwise she might roam around the church and get lost instead of waiting in her room. She seems very energetic, after all." Agnes proposed.

"Yes, I don't mind." I gave her my approval.

"Hey! I'm not a little miss! I'm Dawn!" the little miss started swinging her arms in fury.

"Thank you, Young master Nightmoon. Now I'll take the little miss to her room. Please wait in your room while I get her status done. I will come as soon as possible." the sister said with a smile while not paying attention to the furious Dawn.

"I SAID IM DA-"

"Yes, yes. Let's head inside the room first."

"Why won't anyone call me by my na-"

Then the door of the room closed. I felt a bit bad for Dawn.....or maybe not. I shrugged and headed into the room I was told to enter.

After entering the room I found a table with two chairs around it. The chairs were on opposing sides. Besides that....there was nothing in the room.

It honestly looked and felt like the interrogation rooms I had to enter for being a suspect of wacking some biker gang dudes with a crowbar in my past life.

I sat down on the chair and brought out the book in my hand that I brought with me. But I couldn't focus all that much. After all, in a short while, I would get to know about my magic. Although I was the type who could be rational even in life threatening circumstances I just could never keep my excitement at bay when learning new things.

After what seemed like an eternity, the door to the room finally opened.

"It is your turn now, young master. Miss Dawn's status was revealed." Agnes said as she sat down on the chair facing me.

"Oh? You're calling her by Dawn now, sister?"

Hearing my question the sister giggled.

"Yes, she would be very mad at me if I called her 'little miss' even one more time."

"Yes, it's best you don't anger her too much. Or she may call you a 'poopyhead' like she did to me." I said with a hurt voice.

The warning to avert a doomsday disaster made Agnes giggled again.

"Is that so? Well I'll try to avoid that. But for now let's get your status done too." she said, switching to her serious expression quickly.

"Yes, Of course. I can hardly wait." I replied. I couldn't feel any more excited than I already was.

"Now, here's the paper. Please hold it somewhat tightly and start injecting it mana. Do you know how to do that, young master?"

"Yes, no problems there."

"Ah, that's impressive. Then inject the paper with mana slowly but steadily. When it's enough I will know through god's guidance and will tell you to stop then. So please, you can start now."

"Okay" I nodded and started doing exactly what she told me to as I closed my eyes to focus.

I did wonder what would happen if I poured all my mana into the paper with a burst.

'Would it shred into pieces? or would the writings just be completed faster?' I thought, but ultimately decided against doing such a thing as it could cause needless drama.

So time passed as I poured my mana into the paper. It was supposed to be a minute and yet it felt like an eternity.

'No, I'm pretty sure it's been longer than a minute. It's probably been like 3 minutes.' I thought as I couldn't help but feel curious at what was the problem.

As much as I wanted to ask Agnes, I decided to keep injecting the paper with my mana as I didn't want to start over the process for losing focus.

Then suddenly I felt something on the paper.

"Young master, you can stop now." Agnes said too right as I had sensed something to be written onto the paper.

I first glanced at Agnes and after getting an approving nod, looked at what would likely be my status.

After looking at it, I could only think one thing.

'Ayo? What the fu-'?
