Chapter 46: An ally amidst the agony.

Eruca thought she was all alone in this cold and dark place. But the boy who was from the beast race had reached out to her in hopes of helping. His eyes and ears resembled that of a cat.

"If you need someone to talk to, feel free to speak to me," the boy's words echoed in her head.

She wanted to reject his help. As an Elf, Eruca was taught to be prideful. She was taught to speak with dignity and confidence. If she were to accept this stranger's help without restraint then she would stain the reputation of elves as a prideful race.

"Will you really listen to me?"

But contrary to what she was taught, her desire to be heard was far too strong to refuse such kindness. She was but a child. All the misfortune she had faced was far too heavy for her small and slender shoulders.

The Boy of the Beast kind didn't say anything. He merely nodded after giving her a sympathetic look.
