Chapter 2: Bitten

Giavanna tried to close her eyes but even her eyes dismissed her pleas. It shone in a way it has never done before.

This is not possible... this can't be true, can it?

She screamed in her mind despite that the truth of her five days old husband's infidelity was right before her eyes.

A few minutes ago she was so certain that her name was the only name he will take for the entire night but here he was in another woman's arms praising her down to Earth.

"Harder... Eve...," He groaned in enthusiasm.

She clasped her fist and bit her lower lips. Not even the iron taste in her mouth or the sharp pains in her left palm made her loosen her grip.

"Can't you do any better," He scolded and grabbed the lady's blonde hair.

Giavanna watch as he guarded her mouth and made the lady suck his dick harder.

Her heart broke into a million pieces as she watched another woman devour her man's cock which she had always believed belonged solely to her.

His fierce look and the sweat that dripped from his body made her recall the numerous nights they spent together ever since they became a couple.

"That is enough," He growled. Instantly he pinned the lady down and shove his mighty dick inside her.

He did this without any hesitation.

Maybe, just maybe if he had hesitated a bit she wouldn't have hurt this much but he didn't hesitate for even a second.

The ecstatic scream of the lady echoed in her head making her legs lost the strength in them.

Giavanna staggered back and grabbed the door.

She has always loved hearing his deep husky voice and moans especially when he called her name in bed but listening to it now made her feel repulsive.

As this went on neither the cheating husband nor the mistress realised that they had a third party.

Giavanna could no longer take it anymore so she rushed out of the room with the documents still in her possession.

She ran as far as her legs could carry her.

At the ground floor, she hastened out of the elevator.

"Miss Giavanna...," She bumped into the security guard.

Not even the collision made her stop her race. She didn't even realise that the envelope had fallen from her hands.

The security guard stared at her disappearing back. He didn't know what to make out of what had just happened.

Outside, the wind was strong. On a normal day Giavanna would have ran back into the building for fear of falling sick but she didn't.

For the first time in her twenty-five years of existence, she braced the strong wind and kept on running.

Anyone who saw her would assume she was pursued by an enemy not knowing that was not the case.

It wasn't up to five minutes after she ran out into the streets that the sky rumbled.

It rumbled a few more times before they sky opened and rain poured down in its might.

The manner it poured was as if the sky had held up until this moment.

Maybe it had predicted that this would happened to her and that is why it saved its waters so it would weep along with her.

As she ran in the rain, a 1001 question popped into her head.

She tried to come up with a reason why he would do such a thing to her.

During the past four years they have been in a relationship she has been exceptionally good to him.

She gave him everything, her body heart and soul. She brought him out of the abject poverty to her glittering world of gold.

Was it wealth she didn't give him, freedom or introduced him to the upper class?

She did practically everything to make him happy but what did she get?

Nothing but a damn betrayal slammed against her face a day before their honeymoon.

Giavanna was in deep thoughts that she failed to watch her path which left her stumbling over a rock.

She staggered before she fell on the wet road with a plop, splashing the dirty water. Her clothes turned dirty with her sudden fall.

While on the freezing floor, her tears poured more but because of the torrent of rain one couldn't distinguish which were the tears and raindrops.

"Why..." she screamed, her right hand clutching her chest and her gaze focused on the dark sky.

Just then the scene of what happened earlier replayed in her head.

When she recalled the scene of how he made her suck his dick, her face contorted and her stomach churned.

Something rushed up her throat and instantly she squat on her legs and throw up.

Giavanna fell back on the cold floor. Her face turned deadly and paled like that of a ghost.

"Xander, I loved you. I embraced all the insults that came with being in a relationship because I loved you. What did I do to deserve this?" she yelled.

Her heart tightened and her grip on her chest grew tighter.

Her heart felt so stuffy that it became difficult to breathe.

"W-was..." She hits her chest and sucked in a mouthful of air.

"Was I wrong in loving him too much... And if yes, then was this my punishment for loving him more than my life?" Giavanna sobbed.

She sat there and wept for close to twenty-five minutes.

She wished the heavy downpour would wash away these excruciating pains but even after being soaked in the rain for so long she didn't feel any better.

Slowly, she staggered to her feet but only for her weak body to fall back on the drenched floor.

Giavanna struggled to her feet a second time and this time around she was able to stabilised her trembling legs on the floor.

With her wobbling legs, she dragged her numb body along with her.

As the shivering Giavanna tried to retrace her steps, she didn't see a figure who blended itself into the darkness glared at her.

His hands shook violently as he moved them to his trembling lips.

"I... I...," He shook his head and sniffed as he kept his eyes glued on her neck.

"I am starving. I... I can't wait anymore," He mumbled and took a step forward.

He was forced to pause in his tracks when her cell phone rang.

Giavanna's eyes blinked repeatedly as she carefully guided her shivering hands to her trouser's pocket.

Slowly she lifted the phone to her ears. "M-mum...," Giavanna quivered as she spoke. Her voice was too low that the one at the other end had trouble hearing what she said.

"Sweetheart!" An elder woman jerked to her feet the instant she heard Giavanna's voice.

Just the voice of her mother made her feelt like crying. Her heart hurt like hell.

She wanted to pour out all the injustice she received, the betrayal she was awarded when she did her best to preserve him and her love but she couldn't.

A fresh stream of hot tears made their way down her eyes.

"Sweetheart, you left the house without waiting for me to come downstairs and join you. Where did you go?" The elderly woman demanded as she adjusted the reading glasses on the bridge of her nose.

"Also, why is your voice that way? Are you sick? What about...,"

Giavanna brought down the phone from her ear when she saw a shadow behind her.

She didn't finish turning around to get a glimpse of the person's face when someone seized her from behind.

"Let go of me," She yelled and wrestled with the figure.

Just the presence of the figure rang warning bells in her head.

She tried to tear off the black cap that shielded his face but she couldn't.

Although her body felt extraordinarily weak unlike any other day she still puts on a strong fight.

But her strong fight was seen as nothing but punches on cotton to the man who had her under control.

The next thing she felt was a sharp pain in her neck.

He sank his teeth into her delicate skin and refused to let go.

Her struggles became rougher following this but no matter how much power she used, he refused to let go.

He was like a hungry lion who was dying to relinquish his hunger.

As he kept on sucking her blood she slowly lost consciousness.
