Chapter 99: Ambush
The team of four met at the village gate an hour later after they had equipped ourselves with their equipment and had packed sufficient rations for their journey.
Genkai was still the leader of the team even though Yoriichi was now a Jonin. The team was not made without any consideration. Genkai was the leader as well as the one who would seal the tailed beast. He would also be responsible to fight an S rank Shinobi who happens to attack them or ambush them much to Yoriichi's disappointment.
Hiromi was their healer. Yoriichi did not want to bite her to get himself healed so he decided to stay mostly uninjured. Not that it mattered thanks to his natural healing.
Hisame and Yoriichi were there in case any fighting was to happen. Yoriichi as a backup person who would fight if there are more than one s rank Shinobi. Hisame was in the team to help the team if any fights were to happen near or on water as he would be handy with his water ninjutsu and his summon sharks.
Considering mist hates Uzushiogakure right now, it's very much a possibility. Also they would be traveling through water from Uzushiogakure to the land of the lightning.
They were going to board a ship which belonged to a merchant of Land of Lightning.
Hopefully, they wouldn't encounter any pirate ninjas on the way.
"Alright let's head out."
They went to the village dock where the ship was already waiting for them.
They showed the scroll to the cloud Shinobi which were accompanying the merchants for their safety against pirates.
After the cloud Shinobi checked the validity of the scroll, they let them board the ship.

While the Kumo Shinobi were guarding the ship and were on look out for any pirate attacks, Yoriichi and co were playing cards.
"Hahaha I win again." Genkai said as he collected his winnings.
Genkai stopped laughing as he saw a gloomy aura surrounding their entire cabin. He looked at the source where he saw Yoriichi on the verge of tears.
"Why can't I win a single game? Why? Even the musclehead Hiromi won against me. How can that be? Am I cursed by bad luck like a certain blonde princess? Does that mean I won't be able to gamble without losing?" Yoriichi mumbled as the solemn atmosphere surrounded him.
"Oh don't be so sad. You just lost a couple games, it's not that big a deal." Genkai said to which Yoriichi glared at him "I played 127 and lost 127 games. I did not win even a single round. Tell me It's not a big deal now. Maybe the Mist village has secretly put a curse of misfortune on me. Is there any jutsu like that?" Yoriichi said
Genkai was about to reply but he stopped as his eyes turned serious. Yoriichi's dark look had a change too as he now an excited look.
"Finally someone would pay for my misfortunes. I have to recover all the amount I lost. I hope they have 14 million ryo with them." Yoriichi said as both he and Genkai had sensed three pirate ships waiting for them ahead for an ambush while a few Shinobi were underwater.
"The shinobi underwater are from the Hozuki clan. They have turned to water to stay undetected but looks like they don't have the anti sensory seal since we can easily sense them." Genkai said
"What are we waiting for? Let's go and kill them." Yoriichi said
"Don't be in such a rush. Let them first attack the ship. If Kumo Shinobi wouldn't be able to handle them and are at a disadvantage, we help them. This way we would be able to sow discord between Kumo and Kiri as well as also get favour of Kumo." Genkai Said
"Also I have another suspicion that Mist wouldn't be so dumb and stupid to send so many Shinobi to attack us considering the Mizukage himself has seen mine and yours strength in the kage summit. He should know we would be able to deal with these Shinobi easily. Unless...." Genkai was in deep thought
"Unless Mist does not know that it's you and Yoriichi who are being send to Kumo for this mission. They might only know that a team is being send to Kumo to help them seal the two tails." Hisame said
"That should be true but why would they then invest so much of resources and Shinobi to target a random Uzu team? Just to sow discord between Kumo and Uzushiogakure? No, Mist should know that Kumo is not that dumb to fall in such a trap. Then why?" Genkai thought deeply about Mist's objective
"Duh Sensei, It's so simple. They just lost contact with the level four fuinjutsu masters and their only source of seals has gone. They knew that Uzushiogakure would send at least a level four fuinjutsu master to seal the two tails. Now do you get it? Mist is after any level four Fuinjutsu master that is going on this mission. They likely want to kidnap the level four master and 'compel' him or force him to make fuinjutsu seals for them. It's their bad luck that the level four fuinjutsu master happens to be Genkai of the dark Release." Yoriichi said
"Ah, You are right. Yoriichi, You have really grown in intelligence. I am proud of you." Genkai said with a smile
"What fo you mean by that? I have always been intelligent. Even a Nara would bow before my intelligence." Yoriichi said with sheer arrogance in his voice.
As they were discussing about the mist's objective, the fighting between the Kumo and the 'pirates' started.
