Chapter 6: Fang Xia
RINGGG!
The lunch bell resounded through the halls, signaling the start of the break. Liang Wei watched as his classmates scrambled out of their seats and headed towards the cafeteria.
But the new student seemed to be lost in thought, staring down at her desk.
Liang Wei approached her and softly said, "Hey, it's lunchtime now. Would you like to join us in the cafeteria or did you bring your own lunch?"
He offered her a reassuring smile, hoping to make her feel more comfortable in this unfamiliar environment.
The girl's eyes widened in surprise as she looked up and down, taking in Liang Wei's appearance.
He felt a twinge of self-consciousness, knowing that he wasn't exactly the most impressive-looking person.
But then the girl smiled warmly, her eyes crinkling at the corners.
"Thank you, Porky," she said softly.
Liang Wei's smile faltered at the girl's nickname for him, but he didn't let it show.
He watched as she packed up her things and left the classroom.
But then he heard the sound of chairs scraping against the floor as a group of students who hadn't left yet, got up from their seats.
They were the 'Upper Demons' from his class, who were within the ranks of 30.
They usually bullied or teased others during this time, and Liang Wei knew better than to mess with them.
Strangely, they were all silent as they followed behind the new girl.
One of the Upper Demons, a boy with a cocky grin, broke from the group and approached Liang Wei.
Liang Wei held his breath, knowing that the Upper Demons could make or break his life in this school.
"Don't talk to the Young Miss, ever again," the boy warned Liang Wei before rejoining the group.
'Young Miss?'
"Are you alright?" A concerned voice broke his thoughts.
He looked back and saw Zhang Mei standing behind him.
Liang Wei turned to Zhang Mei and nodded, "Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks for asking."
Zhang Mei frowned, "Those Upper Demons can be really scary. You have to be careful around them."
Liang Wei agreed with Zhang Mei, "Yeah, those guys can be pretty intimidating. But let's not worry about them right now. Let's go grab some lunch together."
Zhang Mei beamed, nodding her head in agreement.
As Liang Wei and Zhang Mei walked towards the cafeteria, Liang Wei struck up a conversation with her.
"So, Zhang Mei, what do you usually eat for lunch?" he asked.
"I usually bring my own lunch. I am a great cook," she replied with a smile.
Liang Wei chuckled, "I can tell. You always have something delicious in your lunchbox."
Zhang Mei blushed at the compliment, "Thank you. What about you, Liang Wei? Do you usually eat in the cafeteria?"
Liang Wei nodded, "Yeah, I don't really have time to prepare my own lunch. Plus, I'm not really good at cooking."
Zhang Mei's cheeks turned a soft shade of pink as she spoke in a soft whisper.
"If you're interested, I could teach you how to cook sometime," she offered.
Liang Wei's heart skipped a beat at the offer. This could be a chance to increase his favorability with her.
"Really? That would be awesome! Thank you," he said, grinning from ear to ear.

Liang Wei felt a sense of satisfaction at seeing his favorability with Zhang Mei increase.
Zhang Mei felt her cheeks heat up under Liang Wei's gaze. She shifted uncomfortably, feeling a little self-conscious.
As they entered the cafeteria, Liang Wei and Zhang Mei were met with the usual chaos and noise of a school lunch period.
Liang Wei scanned the room for an empty table and spotted one in the corner.
"Let's sit over there," he said, pointing to the table.
Zhang Mei nodded and followed him over to the table.
Suddenly, the cafeteria was filled with the sound of a loud and angry voice.
Everyone stopped in their tracks, turning to see what was happening.
Liang Wei and Zhang Mei hurried over to see what was going on.
In the middle of the cafeteria, a towering figure was shouting at the new girl in their class. It was the Number 2 of the Upper Demons, a tall, muscular man with a face red with anger.
"Fang Xia!" he boomed, his voice echoing across the room.
"Your reign is over! It's time for you to face defeat at my hands!"
The new girl, Fang Xia, stood her ground, her expression calm and composed.
"I'm not interested in your challenge, Huang Wei," she said coolly.
"Besides, what makes you think you can defeat me?"
Huang Wei scoffed, his eyes narrowing dangerously.
"Don't underestimate me, Fang Xia. I'm not the old me anymore."
Fang Xia eyed him curiously, seemingly unimpressed.
"Very well, then. If you're so eager to challenge me, let's make it official. We'll settle this after school, in the practice hall."
"Let's see if you are qualified for the position of the Heavenly Demon."
Huang Wei grinned with satisfaction, certain that he'd finally best Fang Xia and take her place at the top.
"Fine, I'll see you there," he agreed before stalking off, his underlings following closely behind.
As the cafeteria returned to its usual bustling atmosphere, Liang Wei and Zhang Mei exchanged glances, concern etched on their faces.
"What do you think will happen to Fang Xia?" Zhang Mei asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Liang Wei shook his head, uncertain.
"I'm not sure, but if she's the Heavenly Demon as they said, then she must have some skills. I have a feeling she'll be alright."
As Zhang Mei nodded in agreement, Fang Xia's attention was drawn to their direction.
As soon as she spotted Liang Wei, a slight grin emerged on her lips, and she approached him, calling out.
"Porky!"
Liang Wei felt a shiver run down his spine as Fang Xia approached him, followed by the group of Upper Demons, including the boy with the cocky grin who was still shooting daggers at him.
"Um, hi there, Miss Xia," he stammered, feeling nervous and intimidated.
