Chapter 2: Chapter 2 || The Wedding

Sitting by the window, Everett watched how the sky was changing color drastically. A while ago, her king father came to remind her about her duties. He told her that there was nothing wrong in marrying the guy who was around her father's age. Status meant everything to the kings. She was no exception in this regard.

The man was called Lord Edgar. He was the duke of the neighborhood land. He was married four times before and all of her wives mysteriously died. Some even gossiped that it was the duke that killed his own wives. Everett still tried to take not the matter in her heart. But her last meeting with the duke was terrible. The old Lord studied her ass and said shamelessly on her face that he couldn't wait to tear it apart.

Everett flinched at the memories, her eyes tearing up again. Probably her fate would have been different if her mother was alive. Often she believed that she was the reason that her mother died. The door flung open all of sudden, drawing her attention on the way. When she lifted her hazel eyes up, happiness spread over her features.

Sitama brought the youngest princess, Ophelia to her. Ophelia was her father's youngest daughter. She was born unexpectedly after the king had pleasured a maid years ago. Ophelia's mother was executed the following day just because her status was too low. The scholars of this kingdom claimed that she would be bringing shame to this family. So, they got rid of her and raised this child like an object.

Ophelia was seven years old only. White hairs, drawn eyes, many said that she resembled Everrett in many ways. Unfortunately Ophelia wasn't a normal child like others. Her case was considered special and the healers said that she lived in a world of dreams. Ophelia kept saying meaningless words consistently. She barely talked with anyone normally but that didn't make Everett, doting her less. Because of her unnatural behavior, everyone even avoided her like a plague except Everett. In her eyes, she pitied Ophelia because her condition was the same as her.

Everett stood up to get her baby sister, carrying her up in her arms and kissing her cheeks adorably. Her heart felt sorry for this little one. Except her, no one ever paid attention to Ophelia. It would be hard for her to take care of herself after she was gone to her in-laws. Everett said sadly, kissing her sister's cheeks again and again,

" Oh baby! I will miss you so much... What will I do without you? You were my only family."

Ophelia was still muttering something under her breath, unaffected by Everett's cries or pain. She was always this weird and mentally abnormal. No one ever understood what her words meant exactly. Everett kept crying and saying, touching Ophelia's soft curls,

" Ophelia, your sister is going to be a wife today. Don't you want to say anything to her? Any good wishes? Well...I won't be getting anything except pain.. Still..."

All she wanted was Ophelia to be a normal child. She kept trying to have a normal conversation with her for the past few years but the young princess never said more than two words. All of a sudden, Ophelia raised her head up and muttered after stealing a glance of Everett's veil,

" Blood will be everywhere when he comes.. flowers will be yours..."

Accidentally Everett paid attention to her words this time. If it was another time, she would have simply taken it as her useless gibberish. But today, she felt a strange fear by Ophelia's words. A maid from the door announced that it was time for the wedding. Everett had to put down her baby sister and make her way to the stage. However for some reason, Ophelia's words didn't slip out of her mind.

What did she say about blood? Who will come?

Drumrolls were heard from the outer castle. People cheered for her marriage. Her king father didn't spare anything when it comes to furnishing the Castle. The preparations were grand and royal, more like a fairy tale to others. After all, it was their first ever marriage in the castle. Among the princesses, Everett was the eldest.

Everett appeared in the venue in her wedding gown. From the corner of her eyes, she could see Lord Edgar, struggling to keep his feet. The little leftover happiness that she felt was gone eventually. Even on their wedding day, Lord Edgar actually drank wine and was struggling to stay up.

As soon as Everett walked near the stage, Lord Edgar threw himself on her, shouting in front of everyone,

" Oh baby...you got such a perfect body..Gosh..I can't wait to fuck you..Hmm.."

All the guests froze by her behavior. They looked among each other uncomfortably. Even the king was stunned by himself. Everett was having a hard time keeping him standing on his feet. Soon one of his family guards took the Lord away. Everett felt another shame on her face. Her soon to-be-husband didn't even spare the wedding day to make her embarrassed.

The king laughed half-heartedly to cover the situation, his eyes glaring at Lord Edgar,

" Hahaha.. Lord Edgar must be too happy to marry my daughter. Everyone! Please enjoy yourself. It was just a joke..."

The guests only smiled in return but deep down, they knew what kind of man Edgar was. Possibly he had spent his night in the inn and arrived the next morning to get married. Everett kept her head down, shame, pain, anger all taking over her soul. She waited for the priest to speak. Right at that moment, many footsteps ran into the venue. The guards who came yelled, screamed and some even fell on the ground.

One of them shouted in despair, causing commotion among the guests,

" Your Highness...Your Highness..He..he is back...We all will be dead...He is back.. back.."

The king was angered by their behavior. He shouted back in rage, staring at the panicked guests,

" SHUT UP! What the hell is this?"

A guard's lips trembled in fear, his eyes popping out of its coats almost,

" The prince....The Lycan prince..He.. he is back to life...Your Highness..He is coming here...for you.."
