Chapter 11: Chapter 11 - Coins

As Skalain ventured into Red Copper Town, the guards at the entrance couldn't help but exchange a few murmurs amongst themselves.

One guard, younger and more animated, commented on Skalain's demeanor,

"He was calmer and more peaceful than many other dark mages that I have encountered."

The guard found it surprising that Skalain appeared to be unfamiliar with certain basic aspects of the town and its customs.

The other guard, older and more experienced, leaned casually against the gatepost, a knowing smile gracing his lips. He responded to the younger guard's observations.

"They're a different breed, those mages," the older guard mused, his voice tinged with a mixture of respect and wariness.

"Their ways of thinking are often beyond the comprehension of ordinary folk. It's best not to meddle too much in their affairs."

"As they are different and have different kind of purposes, it brings out a lot of more different personality."

"A man, a mage that looks kind may be the one with the real danger and the one who looks evil and rude have the kindest heart amongs them. When it comes to the humans there is never a exact type of human heart."

The younger guard nodded.

He understood the older guard's advice, recognizing the need to respect the boundaries of mages and their mysterious ways.

In the end, both guards shared a mutual understanding.

They continued their watchful duty, keeping a watchful eye on the comings and goings of the town while leaving the mysteries of the mages to unfold in their own enigmatic way.

Skalain, who kept walking on the streets of the Red Copper Town, asked a man about where he could sell the pelts and fur as well as the meat and learned that there was a place called Huntsman Hut.

"I should go there."

In less than ten minutes, Skalain found the place the man spoke about and then he approached the tall woman at the Huntsman Hut, carefully carrying the pelts of the rabbit-wolf hybrids. He greeted her with a warm smile, eager to showcase his recent find.

"Good day! I've come across these remarkable pelts of rabbit-wolf hybrids. Quite the rare creatures, I must say."

The woman looked up from her tasks, her eyes immediately drawn to the furs in Skalain's hands.

"Oh, those are quite unique indeed. May I have a closer look?"

Skalain nodded, gently unfurling the pelts and presenting them to the woman, who studied them with a discerning eye.

"Impressive quality, no doubt. These pelts are in excellent condition."

"These creatures you hunted are called Rabitskr and Rabitskrs in plural."

Skalain nodded.

"I don't like being taught, but whatever. Right now, I just need to listen."

"Yes, I took great care in obtaining them. The creatures put up quite a fight, but I managed to secure these pelts."

The woman's gaze shifted from the pelts to Skalain, a glint of curiosity in her eyes.

"You must be quite skilled to have overcome such fierce creatures. I admire your dedication."

Skalain chuckled modestly, humbled by her praise.

"Thank you. It wasn't an easy feat, but I'm always up for a challenge."

The woman's gaze lingered on the pelts, a thoughtful expression crossing her face.

"These pelts are certainly valuable. They would be a great addition to my collection. Let's discuss a fair price."

Skalain nodded in agreement, ready to negotiate.

"I understand their worth. I believe they deserve a price that reflects their rarity and quality."
